~ IMOGEN ~

FINALLY! It was the day to figure out our beautiful baby's gender.

"Aren't you happy today?" I asked Hames who was busy on his laptop, but didn't get any response. "Do you even know what today is?" Still no response.

I snapped my fingers in front of him and he flinched.

"You didn't hear me or you're simply ignoring me?"

He chuckled. "How can I ever ignore my sweetheart?"

"I asked if you know what today is."

"Of course I do, we have an appointment with the doctor to figure out the gender of lour princess."

"I'm so excited and nervous but you don't seem like you care, you're mean."

"Don't act so grumpy. I still have a lot to catch up with at work. Just a few more minutes and I'll be done for the day. Please, my love."

I folded my arms across my chest, pouting. "Just ten minutes and you must be done."

"That's more than enough time. Don't stand, sit here." He patted the spot on the sofa beside him.

I shambled and sat beside him, resting my head on his shoulder. "I'm also very scared."

"Why?"

"I know I'm a few months away but I'm still very scared. What if something terrible happens during pregnancy? What if my baby doesn't like me after birth? What if..."

"I guess it's normal to be scared but I assure you that there's nothing for you to be scared about. I'll always be here for you and we'll raise our baby in the best way we can, she can't hate you." He placed a kiss on my forehead. His kiss was enough to wash every form of worry for me and restore my happiness.

"I hope it's twins, I pray so, I'll be so glad." Hames had the brightest smile on.

I laid on the bed while hames held my hand, and lifted my shirt above my tummy. The OB-GYN rubbed the gel on my belly, it felt so cold on it. As she waved the wand over my belly, the image of my beautiful baby was slowly appearing on the sonographer.

"Wow, she's so cute." Hames cooed, fiddling with my fingers.

"He is." I grinned, feeling extremely excited to see my beautiful baby on the screen.

She smiled then the most magical thing I have ever heard started sounding; the beautiful heartbeat of our baby.

"Oh my Gosh, that sound is enchanting!" Hames quickly slid out his phone. "I have to record this." He said and we both chuckled.

The OB-GYN kept doing whatever she was doing to the image of our baby.

"Hi, everyone. This is my beautiful wife and I here for an ultrasound."

I glanced at Hames who was making a video, and chuckled.

After a while, she cleaned the gel from my tummy and lowered my shirt back.

"Would you like to know the gender of your baby?" She asked.

"Definitely!" Hames and I replied in unison.

"Okay, because some couples don't like to know." She smiled.

"Are they twins?" Hames asked excitedly.

"No, it's a boy." She announced and my eyes widened with so much joy.

"Wow, oh my gosh, we'll have a Hames' junior."

"I was definitely expecting a girl or twins-"

"So you're not happy?"

"You didn't let me complete my sentence - but thinking of it being a baby boy makes me more than happy to have a junior me."

"I can't wait to share this good news to everyone. We should host a mini party for family and friends tonight?"

"Definitely! I love you so much. Thank you for being the mother of my baby boy." He gave me a long kiss.

"You two look so cute and good together. I hope your love strengthens and continues forever. I'll print the image and get back to you with other necessary information."

After a while of waiting, we received everything we needed to receive from the doctor; she confirmed that our prince was fine, no complications.

"You have to eat well, drink enough water, use the medication prescribed to you, don't stress yourself at all, healthy exercises, and only have healthy sex." She said. "Thanks a lot." Hames said.

After everything, we left for our car.

Hames hadn't let go of my hand and his smile was even brighter than ever.

I called Faith to quickly set up the living room for a mini-party with a 'IT'S A BOY' banner.

The other maids had arrived so it was going to make her work easier.

Hames called Trisha, Kade, and Amanda while I called Mom, Nikita and Lila to come over tonight for the big news.

The drive home seemed like forever but we finally got home.

Hames and I left the car into the mansion.

Surprisingly, it had been decorated well enough in such a short while.

"Wow, Faith. Good job."

"Thank you." She grinned. "I really thought it was going to be a girl but a boy would also be lovely. Have you come up with a name for him yet?" She asked. Hames and I shared a glance at each other, shaking our heads.

"You should do that."

"I guess we should."

"Definitely."

"I have to finish the decorations. Bye."

We left for our bedroom and I started taking off my clothes, to wear a one-set cloth.

"What should be our baby's name? I had a lot of cool girl names." Hames said.

"We should name him..."

"Shane?"

"Shane sounds nice but I think I prefer Tristan."

"Tristan Shane... hmm..." he hummed.

"Tristan Shane Hendrix. Wow, that sounds perfect. Tristan... Shane... I love it!" I grinned, taking out a classy gown from my wardrobe.

Hames laughed shortly. "Isn't it funny how we came up with such a cool name in a short while?"

"It definitely is but the problem right now is I'll need new clothes, these ones don't fit me anymore." I whined, trying to wear the gown but my stomach wasn't letting me. "We'll go shopping for Tristan and for you too."

"Yes, please."

"You look really beautiful." Lila commented.

"Thank you so much."

"Hames is looking happier than ever and I'm so glad about it." Kade also said with a smirk, leaning closer to Lila.

Since they arrived together for some reason, they had been clinging onto each other like they were magnets.

"It's obviously all thanks to my Imogen."

He pecked my cheek.

"Hi, Mom." I grinned at Mom who just strolled to us with Trisha and Amanda, hugging her.

"I'm so glad my baby is having a baby. I can't wait to know the gender."

"We'll figure it out soon."

"I'm so excited for both of you." Trisha beamed, pulling both of us into a joint hug. "I'm certain it's a baby boy, but he shouldn't be as stubborn as Hames."

"I think I'll prefer a girl." Amanda raised a hand.

"I think I want a girl as well." Kade added. "She'll be my little princess too. I'm definitely the godfather, right?"

"Who else would it be if not you?" I chuckled and he joined me.

"I want a girl too. She'll be more than beautiful. Imagining how beautiful she's going to be is making me feel like shedding tears of joy." Lila grinned.

"You're all so funny. We definitely can't determine the gender of the baby." Mia burst into laughter. "Since you know the gender of the baby, just let us know?" "Let's have dinner then after dinner, we'll all know the gender of our baby." Hames grinned.

"Dramatic much." Trisha rolled her eyes and started walking to the dining table with Mia.

"Okay, I'm actually very hungry." Kade said, holding Lila's hand. Her face flushed red then they walked to the dining table as well, then Amanda. "After you, Mi amor." Hames held the small of my back.

My phone started ringing. "I'll be with you shortly." I had to excuse myself to answer the call from Nikita.

"Where on Earth are you?"

"I'm so sorry, I'm unable to attend your party. I'm really really sorry but it's urgent."

"Fine, no problem."

"What's the gender of the baby?"

I moved farther away from the dining table and whispered into the phone. "A boy."

"That's so cool. He'll definitely be handsome. There'll be a lot of ladies pestering him."

"I'll chase them all away." I laughed.

"You can't, he'll be too hot and irresistible."

"We shall see."

"We shall. I've gotta go now. Once again, I'm sorry."

"No, problem. Bye."

"Bye."

I quickly ended the call and left for the dining.

After chatting during dinner, we were done eating and it was time to reveal the gender of the baby.

"It's the time you've all been waiting for tonight." Hames said then we both stood by either side of the banner, holding each rope to pull it down. "Just do it, bro."

After the count of three, we pulled the rope and the folded banner fell, revealing the gender.

"Wow, I knew it!" Trisha exclaimed, rushing to hug me tightly. "I love you so much, sweetheart. Thank you for this great news."

"Wow, that's cool too." Lila grinned, staring at Kade and they both chuckled.

"He'll be Tristan Shane Hendrix." I added.

"That's really cool." Mom commented.

Everyone, including Amanda, seemed excited to hear the news and we celebrated with music and drinks till it was very late.

Mia was the first to leave with Trisha then after a while of chatting and making a lot of jokes, Lila decided to leave and Kade immediately decided to go with her.

"You both seem... I don't know, I'm certain I'm not the only one seeing this between both of you tonight..." Hames said to Kade and Lila whose cheeks became crimson again.

"I have never seen Lila blush this much since we were little children." I smirked.

"You're only being dramatic, it's nothing." She waved a hand.

"Your face tells it all." I teased.

"You broke up with Jovi and you're immediately head over heels for Lila. I definitely understand this. I've experienced how to fall in love with someone in such a short while." Hames held his shoulder. "You should both stop being dramatic. Congratulations on expecting Tristan, we have to leave now." Lila twittered.

"We?"

"Yes, we're going on a date." Kade said with a lopsided grin.

"It has been confirmed."

"Let's leave, they won't stop teasing us." He rolled his eyes.

We laughed and accompanied them to the door then they left after I hugged Lila again.

"Whoa, such a long day." I sighed as we returned to the sofa.

"Hi," I had totally forgotten Amanda was still here until she spoke.

"Aren't you going yet?" I tried to sound polite, gritting my teeth.

"I'm sleeping over." She shrugged.

"What?! Oh, no, no, no, you're not. Hames, please tell her she isn't sleeping here."

"Stop being so mean. I'll be returning to the United Kingdom in a few days and I just want to stay here till then. I won't be a disturbance, I need to be around people so I don't get depressed." "Fine, no problem."

"Hames!" I moaned.

"Stop being such a baby, Imogen. Who knows, we might become friends before I leave. I'll be leaving for a really long time."

"Imogen?" Hames smiled with a cute innocent face I couldn't resist.

"Fine, she can stay, but if she does anything silly, I'll pull her hair out of her scalp and kick her out of here."

"You have permission to do that."

"Hames!" She exclaimed and he burst into laughter.

"I really feel sleepy, and need a bath."

"I'll be with you shortly."

"You'll still stay here with her?" I frowned.

"You're being rude. Don't ruin a 10-year friendship. Don't you mind my presence?"

"Isn't it obvious that I don't? Anyway, goodnight. Hames, you should be with me in five minutes else..." I trailed off.

"Fine, Mom." He laughed again while I rolled my eyes and left for our bathroom for a nice and long bath.

After my night rituals, I sank into bed when Hames came in and covered me with a duvet.

"I think I'll have to apologize to Tristan, I've been speaking to him as a girl, not a boy."

"Oh yeah, you'll continue your weird long night conversation with him when he can't even hear you." I yawned. "Goodnight."

"He can hear me, it'll strengthen our bond, you'll see." He bent to give me a kiss but his phone chimed, interrupting his heavenly lips making contact with mine.

"Just give me a kiss first, I need to sleep."

"You can't sleep without my kiss?" He smirked, raising his phone to his face and it instantly became pale.

"What's wrong?" I asked. A frown appeared on his face that made me very worried. "Please tell me what's wrong," I shook his body.

His face was very stern as he turned the phone's screen to me.

My blue eyes widened as they met what I never thought I was going to see or think about again. Oh no, no, no...
