Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 57
Chapter 57
“Nothing.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“You… you’re making me nervous.”
“Am I?” he asked innocently, trying to conceal his amusement. Apparently, he wasn’t the only one affected by their proximity.
Ana’s eyes snapped to him. “You know exactly what you are doing” She mock glared.
“So? What if I do know?” he challenged. He pulled her a little closer and heard her inhale sharply as she came into contact with his painfully hard length. He was wearing dress pants, so there was absolutely nothing hiding his condition.
He was about to try his luck and kiss her again, but he heard someone clear their throat. He dropped his head and groaned. Anastasia jumped back and Damien quickly dropped his hand to his lap so that he didn’t embarrass himself.
“I am sorry to interrupt.” Cart said, suppressing his laughter. “Anastasia, your parents just got here.”
“Umm… Thank you, Carl. I’ll just-” She turned to Damien almost apologetically. “I’ll go get them.” She disappeared around the corner like a gust of
wind.
“You’ve got excellent timing. Dad, Damien grumbled and stood up. Nothing made the mood disappear than one of your parents walking in on you making a move on a girl.
Carl laughed. “Sorry. I didn’t realize the two of you were… so close.”
Damien looked at him sheepishly. “I should tell you. You will replace out eventually.”
Carl looked at him questioningly.
“I’ve been in love with Anastasia Reid since she joined the company, Dad.”
Carl’s mouth dropped open and he closed it a few times, not knowing how to proceed. “Excuse me. What?” he asked.
“It is a long story that is not appropriate to discuss with my father,” he said quickly.
“You’re in love with her?” Damien nodded. “And she knows this?”
Damien shook his head. “No. She knows that I was in love with her. But I haven’t told her that I still am.”
Carl pinched the bridge of his nose. “I am a little confused here. I just don’t understand how you were so angry with her if you love her.”
“I was angry. I had every right to be. Don’t tell me you weren’t upset when you found out about Alan.”
“Of course!”
“And you like Anastasia. You’ve forgiven her.” Carl sighed and sat down next to his son. “But regardless of how angry I was, I have forgiven her. We have forgiven each other and I can’t hide it anymore. I don’t want to hide it anymore. I want to show her… I want us to be a family.”
“So show her, then,” Carl urged with a reassuring smile.
“I don’t know how to do that. I don’t know how she feels about me. Things got intense the other night, but I can’t tell you what that means. She wants to talk to me, but I am scared that she will regret everything. What if she tells me that there is no chance for the two of us?”
Carl was thoughtful for a moment before speaking. “From what I just walked in on, I don’t think she will say that,” Carl smirked. “But if she does, you just move forward. You two will co–parent and be the best parents for Alan. Don’t worry about things that haven’t happened yet.”
Of course, Carl was right. Damien couldn’t control what Ana felt. They would need to move on regardless of what Ana decided.
Carl got to his feet and extended his hand to Damien. “Come on, you have to greet Anastasia’s parents.”
Damien felt his blood drain from his face and Carl laughed. Damien allowed his father to pull him out of the chair. Cart led his son into the foyer without another world. Much to his surprise, Ana wasn’t there. Her parents were speaking to Damien’s mother. They were laughing as Damien approached them. But they grew silent at his arrival.
Damien’s mother stepped back and took Damien’s place next to Carl
Damien took a deep breath and extended his hand. “Mr. and Missus Reid,” he said politely
Alan Sr looked at Damien and then down at his hand. When his wife nudged him, he slowly put his hand out to shake it. “Damien,” he said, smirking at him from behind his bushy mustache.
Alan’s handshake was firm but not threatening. “A pleasure to meet you,” Ana’s mom chimed in, breaking the tension. Anastasia stepped up next to Damien, holding baby Alan on her waist. She leaned toward Damien and baby Alan reached out. Damien lifted him into his arms and secured his son as Ana went towards her parents.
“Hi, Dad,” she whispered while hugging him.
“Hello, baby girl. How was work today?”
Chapter 57
Alan’s head lifted and he looked at Damien, his eyes wide with wonder. “Daddy?”
“Yeah, kid?”
“She called Gampa “daddy“!”
“Yes, because grandpa is your Mommy’s daddy.”
“Like you’re my daddy?” he asked innocently.
“Just like that,” Damien confirmed.
Baby Alan looked thoughtful for a moment before putting his head on Damien’s shoulder. Ana’s parents were staring at Damien with strange expressions on their faces.
“How’s my little boy?” Alan Senior asked, shifting his attention to the baby. He reached out and Damien handed his son off to the man.
Anastasia turned around and he felt her fingertips brush against Damien’s forearm as she moved past him. Damien followed her closely into the next room. She chuckled and almost tripped when he bumped into her in his nervousness. Damien reached out and steadied her by holding her hips.
“Sorry,” he breathed into her car, making her shiver.
“Don’t let your business partners see you so panicked. They’ll lose faith in you,” she teased. “I am glad that you are calmer now.”
He hummed, lifting her shirt slightly and running her fingers against her exposed skin before releasing her. Ana jumped back and darted away like she had been burned.
Dinner was much better than Damien anticipated. When Ana took the seat next to him, Damien was caught off guard. He had expected her to take her parents‘ side, but instead, she chose the seat next to him in a show of confidence. Damien pulled the seat out for her and Ana winked at him.
Damien proceeded to help baby Alan into his booster seat and buckled him in. Anastasia leaned in and pressed her mouth to his shoulder in appreciation.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
