I didn't even get halfway there when my phone rang. It was Cole.

My mind immediately went to the text he sent last night. Was he about to go see his dad?

I answered the call, making my voice deliberately cool "Mr. Drago, calling this early?"

"Did I wake you?" he teased, his tone playful.

"Is there something you need?" I asked, pretending to forget the message he'd sent last night.

Cole chuckled softly on the other end. "I'm heading over to my dad's now. I promised I'd introduce you, and I'm keeping my word. Still want to come?"
