Captive Of The Alpha -
Chapter 43
Layan smiled at the other alpha sitting across from him. After nearly half an hour of telling him his sister’s hidden history, despite the grunts and grim faces from Hades, he had concluded satisfied.
-You’re sure you can deal with this, do you have any idea what the rest of the Council will say when they replace out that your sister was always under their noses?
-If you don’t say a word, they don’t have to replace out what really happened,” he rested his chin against his hand, “I’ve got a few things up my sleeve and I don’t think anyone will disprove anything, unless you turn on me and give me away.
-I should,” Layan scowled at him, “You took someone of mine and put them in danger, isn’t that reason enough, and I’m not even touching on the small detail that you condemned her to death?
The red-haired man’s smile had completely vanished from his face.
-You know our laws above all else, you of all people should have expected that verdict, if I didn’t they would say that I have favouritism with your pack, luckily everything went differently than planned,” he paused for a second to take a breath, “Besides, I’ll ask you a little question. If Sara, whom you consider a member of the family, or Leoxi, were to fall into madness, could you take their lives with your own hands? –
Hades’ countenance paled just imagining the scene. Leoxi, he was his twin, his other half, and there was no one he loved more. He had been there through thick and thin and would fight to the death for him alone. As for Sara, it didn’t matter either, even though he had married her and guaranteed her safety, the thought of losing the she-wolf who had behaved more like a little sister than a ward would drive him mad.
He didn’t notice the entire time he was silent until Layan made a sound from his throat, catching his attention.
-I won’t say anything,” Hades then said, “You have my word.
-I knew I could trust you,” Layan’s face showed his current happiness again, “Another thing I’m worried about, the situation with Rudoc.
Hades pursed his lips.
-More salt on the wound, the red-haired man knew he’d be taking it out on him for millennia, for his counterpart, despite having the nickname of the benevolent one, could be really cruel when he wanted to be- The full moon is over, we’ll have to wait for next month and have someone from the Council present as a witness-.
Layan nodded. The sentence of murder under the full moon was the most shameful for every wolf. The moon was meant to see them born, to die under its light meant the dishonouring of their soul. And that was what Rudoc deserved.
-We have him locked in the depths of our cells, escape from there is impossible, I will see to it that his last days are the most memorable of his life,” he squeezed the wood of the sofa’s armrest until it splintered.
-I don’t care if you want to send him to hell, but the furniture is expensive and strange, refrain from breaking it,” he said.
Despite knowing Layan for so long, Hades never understood what was going through the wolf’s mind. He could be cold, or simply mocking, without changing the cruelty in his eyes. He didn’t understand how at this point they could talk without hurling threats or venomous words at each other.
After a few seconds the alpha of the Silver Pack stood up, ending the meeting.
-I will return to my lands, Nebraska is worried about how her cubs are doing and she asked me to leave as soon as possible, I don’t want to keep her away from the mansion for so long,” he said.
-I advise you to marry her as soon as you get back, you see how unstable her…” he thought for a moment, “relationship is,” he concluded.
-That’s what I have planned, I don’t want any unforeseen events, and the sooner I have my mark, the safer she is that someone won’t kidnap her.
Layan raised his eyebrow reproachfully.
-You’ll get that out of me until I’m ten feet under the ground.
Hades didn’t answer, turned to leave and walked in search of Nebraska.
He opened the door to the room and saw her sitting in the window frame caressing something small in her hands, memorising its structure.
-I’ve already talked to Layan, we can leave right now,” he said.
She turned her face and jumped down to the ground.
-Then we’re leaving,” she grabbed his hand and dragged him down the hall and down the stairs to the entrance, following his directions.
-Wait a moment,” both wolves stopped in front of the huge open door leading to the main garden at the sound of Layan’s voice.
He stopped in front of them with his hands in his pockets.
-Don’t forget to invite me as best man to your next wedding, I’ll set up the situation here so I can attend, if you know what I mean,” he said.
Nebraska frowned and by her scent the males knew something good was not coming, but with a slight fake smile she replied.
-Don’t worry, alpha,” she emphasized the last part, “I’ll invite you when a certain alpha,” she reemphasized, “enlightens me on the details of that upcoming wedding and best man?
-Hades put a hand on her shoulder and she patted it away, “And I swear to you, the best man didn’t come from me.
-Of course you’ll tell me,” it wasn’t that she was really upset, she just couldn’t tolerate decisions being made that had to do with her that didn’t include her at least as a listener.
-Hades, I’ll make sure that next time I visit your pack I greet her as alpha instead of queen because the way you’re going….
-The way I’m going, it’s none of your business.
Nebraska closed her eyes. There they went again.
-How is she?” he interrupted them.
-Resting,” Layan’s facial features softened, “She’s improving rapidly.
She nodded in affirmation pleased that her sacrifice was paying off.
-And before I forget,” he grabbed her arm and dragged her into a room away from Hades before he could protest. His beta cut him off only leaving him the option of waiting, even if he didn’t like the idea of leaving them alone.
-Layan,” she sounded commanding as she called out to him, not believing that with Hades just a few feet away she would do anything inappropriate to him.
-Beautiful, you can be very intense,” the wolf protested as, without letting go, he grabbed both her hands behind her back, pinning her down and pulling her to him as he dropped his lips to hers.
Nebraska froze in shock at first, but when she was about to protest and struggle to let go, she didn’t even avoid it, not even when Layan bit her l*p and opened his mouth, invading her with his tongue and deepening the k**s. The hands on her back were released and fell to her sides. Layan’s held her around the waist steadying her knowing the effect of his power was already ravaging her insides.
Much to his chagrin, though he refused to acknowledge it, she left Nebraska’s lips, tasting the scent that remained on his with the tip of her tongue.
-Well, better?” it was barely a whisper.
Nebraska was calm and more relaxed. At first the k**s took her by surprise and she wanted to beat him until she couldn’t even remember his name, but as soon as the colours became sharper and the blue of the wolf’s iris became more defined even with all the details, she understood.
-Didn’t you have another way of doing it,” she lowered her head, wiping away any saliva that might remain and checking that it wasn’t a little swollen, otherwise who would listen to whoever was outside.
-I have another method, more intense and more pleasurable, but I don’t think it’s appropriate, but if you like, I’ll fire Hades and go upstairs…”.
-No, thank you,” she interrupted him by raising her hand, “That’s fine, thank you,” she said.
-I’m a wolf of my word, I told you so,” he grabbed her hand back to the entrance.
Nebraska smiled as she took in the details around her, it was wonderful that after more than fifty years of not being able to see beyond the mist, she could appreciate everything around her with such intensity. She could even feel the internal wounds that had yet to heal recovering with a speed that impressed her.
He released her in front of Hades and pulled her slightly towards him with a wink.
Hades opened his eyes to replace her pupils intact and studying him, every detail of her face without looking away.
-He raised his head to Layan, pursing his lips, “What did you do, wolf?
And the red-haired man just smiled
-Secret-
