Captive Of The Alpha -
Chapter 48
Siran finished all the paperwork in a bundle to start on the accounts. The pressure of his alpha not being in the pack put a lot of responsibility on his shoulders that he should not and could not delegate to anyone else.
He was grateful that his wife was taking care of the other things, like organising the new members, keeping track of supplies, and making excuses for all those who asked why they hadn’t seen their alpha for days, even when his rut should have been over. Moreover, the question of where her fiancée was was the most common one, especially from her cubs, who kept questioning Sara about their mother’s whereabouts.
The pretext that they had gone with Layan to settle some urgent matters would soon vanish.
Siran pitied her. Already dark spots were appearing under her eyes ruining her natural beauty. He heard her sigh every now and then and although she responded with her usual smile, he could see how the worry was overwhelming her more and more.
The door to her office opened, revealing her with a tray in her hands.
-Dinner,” she placed it on the table and began to organise the papers that had fallen out of place, “Any news?
The beta shook his head and went about his business.
-She gave him a k**s on the cheek and walked towards the door.
-The wolf knew her well enough to know that it wasn’t normal that she wasn’t throwing a tantrum because her husband hadn’t just moved the stronger wolves and gone off to replace his protector.
She turned and gave a forced smile again, the one that hid all her emotions.
-You’re too busy with all the pack’s work. If you haven’t done it, you have your reasons.
The beta nodded and went back to his business, listening as she left him again in the solitude of the vast study. He was grateful that his wife did not put more work on his shoulders. He hadn’t sensed any alert from Hades or any calls, being his beta he was more sensitive to knowing if he was in danger, so he just focused on keeping up with the work.
The door opened again, revealing Leoxi with a serious look on his face.
-I just spoke to Sara.
-That saves me some explanations,” he wrote some numbers on the sheet.
The twin saw the plate of food on the table.
-Hey, I know you’re worried like everyone else, but Hades is a straight and true alpha, capable of standing up for himself. He’ll be fine, so you need to think more about yourself,” he nodded where he’d come in, “And your she-wolf.
Siran stopped what he was doing.
-What about her?
-Why don’t you take care of her, she looks like she’s about to fall apart. Although she smiles at everyone, those of us who know her have noticed she’s struggling.
Siran sighed, running her hand through her hair. He had to admit that they had barely seen each other these past two days. Only when she brought him some information or food, since he spent all his time in the office and only stopped to eat or take a quick bath.
With so much going on around her she had noticed the change in Sara but didn’t think so much of it. He could be her husband and the wolf that had marked her but he would never fully understand her.
-Can you take care of this,” she pointed to the things on the table, there was still someone she could trust with the job, even if only a little, “I’d like to rest and see to some business,” Leoxi said.
Leoxi sat down on the sofa, smiling.
-Go away and if tomorrow I see Saga with the same expression as today I promise to beat you to a pulp, work your magic,” he said.
The beta growled at him and grabbed something light from his plate, putting it in his mouth and realizing how hungry he was.
He walked in the direction of his room where the scent of his mate grew stronger. At that time of night she should be making the bed, she was not a wolf to be up this late unless it was a full moon or their bodies were having a fiery encounter.
He opened the door and the room was dimly lit. He looked around for her and found her sitting on the edge of the bed with her back to him. She was hunched over hugging a cushion and her shoulders were shaking slightly.
He sighed as he approached, and saw her wiping her face. He sat behind her and put his arm around her waist as he placed a small k**s on the back of her neck.
-What’s wrong?
She squeezed the cushion tighter and stopped the sobs that refused to hide.
-Nothing, I’m just tired, you don’t have to worry, you already have a lot to think about,” she said.
He sighed again, realizing that he did it so often, and kissed the crown of her head.
-If you don’t tell me what you’ve got, I’ll go and sleep somewhere else. I have the night off and I feel like letting off some steam.
She turned quickly and hugged him, burying her face in his chest. He put his arms around her and caressed her back trying to calm the sobs that came again.
-Where is he, Siran? He never leaves without telling me. He hadn’t recovered from the jealousy- his words choked on the fabric of her shirt- What if something happened to him, what if he’s in danger?
The wolf now understood her change of heart. He had never competed for her affection with Hades. Starting with the fact that they were totally different. He couldn’t remember when the she-wolf had started to interest him, after all, he had been raised as the alpha’s right hand man prepared to have the cool head to protect the pack in the worst case scenario and had always thought he would never have a she-wolf for life.
From the first time he had seen her and his alpha had adopted her as his ward she had followed him around like a shadow. But the day she turned away, claiming that she no longer wanted him and would marry the stranger who was courting her, and he thought he felt relief, his whole world turned on him and from being used to solitude, he found himself needing to be in company all the time.
He had not fallen in love with Sara overnight, but now, years later, he would not leave her side for anyone. She knew how to fill all those needs in his life. Their relationship was not perfect, but it was balanced.
-Hades will be fine and I’m sure Nebraska will too. Layan’s a son of a bitch but he won’t do anything to start a war between the packs, he’s too smart for that.
He felt her raise her head with a pout.
-Really?
-Really?
The tear-streaked, tear-stained, messed-up face made him let out a slight inward snort.
-Come, I’ll give you a bath. You need to rest. I’ll stay with you all night and help you relax,” and he of all people knew how.
He slipped his hand under her knees and carried her to the bathroom where a huge tub was half full of water. He only needed to turn on the faucet for the hot water to fill the other half as he placed her on the edge of the sink and began to remove her blouse.
Sara lifted her arms as he pulled the fabric over her head. Her husband’s fingers unzipped her trousers and she lifted a little so he could remove them and her underwear.
-K**s me,” she asked in the same voice that reminded him of when a young girl begged him to let her sleep in the same room.
Siran finished removing his own shirt. He took her chin between his fingers and kissed her lips. A soft, quiet, relaxed k**s, the likes of which they hadn’t had in a long time.
He turned off the tap and checked the water temperature. He finished taking everything off and approached his wife.
-He grabbed her arms and made her hold his neck but she pinned him between her legs and kissed him again. Siran let her savour it, taking the opportunity to trace her slender back until he finished on her buttocks which he squeezed between his fingers drawing her to him pressing both sexes together.
He heard her m**n against his lips.
-First let me wash you, little one, then you are free to do with my body as you wish,” he said.
She nodded her head and held onto him as he held her thighs and pulled them both into the tub straddling the beta.
He grabbed the soap and scrubbed it between his hands until a thick lather came out. He stroked his wife’s neck, tracing the curve of her shoulder, her collarbone. He continued down her arms, intertwining his fingers.
Sara just stood still watching as his wolf roamed her body paying attention to every inch of her skin. His fingers found her small breasts and then her nipples that stood up begging for the attention they needed.
-You’re not chattering like we always do,” he received no response.
With her nails she caressed the area around both of them and then took them and three of her fingers and squeezed them. Sara had to pull her hands back and hold onto her husband’s strong thighs as he played with her breasts in delight.
-I shouldn’t have used so much foam,” she heard him curse under his breath and knew what he meant.
Siran was addicted to biting her breasts and more when they did it. Sara knew it was the part of her anatomy he liked the most, even if they weren’t prominent.
And after so much insistent attention over their years together it had become a very sensitive area. So she found herself biting her l*p, holding back m***s with only the faintest of caresses.
A hand drew her by the nape of her neck and her husband’s tongue ran along her lips.
-Don’t bite yourself. We’re alone, you can m**n all you want.
She smiled. Anyone who didn’t know the beta and only saw him would think he was a hard block of ice who only sheathed fear, but she could confirm that underneath that carcass formed by his upbringing, he was someone very attentive, honey, and very caring. He was a very attentive guy, honey, and when he’d mentioned he was good in bed to Nebraska he hadn’t exaggerated and was about to prove it to her again.
