Chapter 310 It Has Nothing to Do With You

Seeing that, Marshall laughed, and said with relish, "Go on, tell me why."

Katherine pulled her face, and her eyes wandered from Marshall to Clara.

In a whisper, she continued, "I don't have to tell you that. Anyway, you're not the sort of good man."

Marshall answered, "If you are talking about what happened last night, I can tell you that it was all caused by my impulsion."

Tutting, Katherine thought that he was trying to fool her by speaking nonsense.

Kyle got close to the two, and asked in a sneaky manner, "So, what happened last night? I thought you guys have already divorced."

Katherine turned to him and said, "Shut up."

Marshall hummed, and spoke as if to himself, "After all, we are both single now, and anything could happen between two singles. What's more, we are quite familiar with each other."

Annoyed, Katherine sneered with anger, "You should really think twice before you speak. And tell you what? I care about my own fame, and if you want to ruin yours, you are totally free to do so, just don't get me involved, you shameless asshole."

Sitting by the other side, though Clara did not join their conversation, she had heard it all.

With her wrenched, Clara was confused by his explicit words.

'Does he mean that they have spent a night together?' She wondered in her mind.

In Clara's memory, Marshall was a man serious in speech and manner, and would never play any jokes or speak any nonsense.

Which meant he was just telling the truth.

Clara pinched her skirt, and kept a calm expression on her face.

Marshall smiled, with his eyes on Kyle, "Fine, I'm going to stop here. Just guess the rest of the story yourself."

Taking a sneaking glance at Katherine, Kyle had his eyes wander back to Marshall.

Katherine stared at Marshall for a while, and sneered, "Fine, speaking of that, I'm wondering why you, Mr. Grant, went into my house last night. Tell me, would you, Mr. Grant?" Her question really stunned Marshall.

In fact, he had been puzzling over for a long while before he headed to Katherine's place.

In recent days, he had been haunted by things about Katherine in his head, and he could not tell why.

Finally, the eagerness for an answer led him to Katherine's place.

By that time, Katherine was not at home, and all doors and windows on the first floor had been locked up tight.

Then, he climbed up to the balcony on the second floor, and, as he had expected, the balcony's door was unlocked.

He then went inside. During his stay in Katherine's bedroom, he had actually thought about leaving before Katherine came back.

Though he thought so in his head, he just failed to actually leave, and waited until Katherine came back.

Fidgeting on the second floor, he was for a second afraid to see Katherine coming back together with Hector.

Fortunately, she came back alone.

Katherine sat aside, looked at Marshall and nudged him, "Hey, I'm speaking to you. Answer my question: why the hell did you go into my house last night?" Marshall turned to Katherine, with the corner of his mouth lifted, "Nothing. I just wanted to check whether you are good."

Katherine pursed her mouth, and said, "Of course, I'm good by any measure."

With a thin smile on his face, Marshall said, "Yeah, you're good."

Katherine stared at Marshall for a while, sat firm and tutted, "Sick."

Out of the corner of his eyes, Marshall took a quick glance at those media workers standing not far away, and had their cameras aimed at their three.

They might have got what they wanted, since he and the other two were really having a nice chat here.

A while later, Walters Family's people arrived.

Supported by someone beside her, Old Mrs. Walters was here too. She was old, and looked thin and wrinkled, which made it hard for her to completely fill in the traditional Chinese garment worn on her back. However, her smiling face made her look aglow with health on the whole.

Katherine took a look at her, and then said to Marshall, "I guess she is about the age of grandma."

"No, she is older than grandma." Marshall stood up and answered.

Old Mrs. Walters was here mainly to express gratitude for the attendance of the guests, and invited everyone to join the feast.

Many people around arrived here early in the morning, without eating anything for breakfast.

Therefore, though it was not lunchtime yet, they were all glad to join the feast and have something to eat.

Then, Katherine, together with Kyle and Marshall, went to join the feast.

Mr. Haverford and Grandma Grant were there as well, and sat at the same dining table with other elders.

For those young people, they were then grouped and sat together somewhere else.

As Katherine was taken here by him, Kyle then led her and had found themselves a free table.

And she was followed by Marshall.

Katherine looked back at him and asked, "Why are you following me?"

Marshall scowled at her, "What are you talking about? I'm not following you, I'm here with Kyle."

Kyle hummed, "Indeed, he has tried to team up with me before we came, but he failed. Come on and join us, Marshall."

After greeting Mr. Henderson, Clara then came to join them as well.

Somehow, Katherine thought that Clara was a worthy woman, who could still come and join the group undertaking all the humiliation.

If she were Clara, she would definitely keep a distance from those whom she failed to get along with.

People around were all looking for seats at an orderly manner, and no one was being hurry or rude, since there were still many seats available.

As the three sat down, there was no one sitting opposite to them yet.

Katherine murmured, "Well, I should have come here with my pajamas."

Kyle felt it the same way. He loosened his tie and said, "Damn it, this stupid necktie is strangling me!"

It was not a big dining table, and could accommodate five or six people at most.

Though there were still many people hanging around and looking for seats, no one was seemingly willing to sit with the four people.

At the end, after all the clamoring, they were seemingly the only four sitting around the table.

Kyle was quite pleased to see that, since it made him feel unrestrained and easy. He then moved his chair, "Come on, guys! Let's move over and not huddle together."

Katherine nudged Marshall, "Move over a little, will you?"

Marshall then shifted his weight, slowly and casually.

Katherine gritted her teeth, and moved over herself.

Marshall, sitting aside, couldn't help but offer a light laugh.

For Clara, who was sitting beside them, she pretended to be unconscious of what she saw.

Kyle handed a pair of chopsticks over to Katherine, "Have you eaten anything yet? I guess the cup of juice was the only thing that you had this morning. Come on, don't get yourself starved, my dear." There was a waiter passing by, and Marshall stopped him.

"A cup of warm milk, please." Said Marshall.

As he said so, something seemed occur to him. He then turned back to Clara and asked, "What about you? Two cups of warm milk, if you need."

It was a pale and weak concern, indeed.

Clara offered a smile, "Thank you, but no. I ate breakfast this morning."

Marshall, without saying anything in return, turned to the waiter directly and said, "One cup of warm milk, thanks."

Katherine pursed her mouth, "Don't you ever say that you are doing this for me. Have you forgotten that I don't like milk?"

Marshall answered without even looking at her, "Well, how about your fragile stomach, then? It will cause trouble with your stomach if you get used to eating nothing in the morning. I remembered that last time, grandma had told me to take you to the hospital to have a check when I had time. In a word, take care of your stomach, or you will suffer when you get old."

Katherine sneered, "Does it have anything to do with you?"

"Yes, it does." Marshall said firmly.

Kyle, sitting aside as an on-looker, was confused by Marshall's words, "But why? Why does it have something to do with you?"☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
