James glared at Felix. "Really, Felix? I treated you like a brother, and you betrayed me!"

Felix did not back down. "Right back at you!"

James turned to Nina, forcing a smile. "Ma'am, I'm really sorry. It was an accident, not intentional. My mistake!"

Nina responded, "I think you did it on purpose."

"That's impossible! How could I? I'm a good soldier who serves the people!" James stood at attention and saluted.

Nina asked, "Then what are you doing here?" with a stern expression.

James thought quickly and grabbed Felix. "We came to eat!"

Felix immediately nodded. "Yes, we came to eat."

Nina's expression darkened. "This restaurant isn't that big. How come I didn't see you? And why were you in the kitchen breaking things?"

She became more serious. "Aren't you disrupting the restaurant's business?"

Both men fell silent.

"Did Nash send you to follow me?" Nina continued. "What's his deal?"

"Well..."

The two hesitated, not know how to respond.

"Where is he?"

"Captain isn't here," James replied. "We're here to protect you."

Nina scoffed. "You're more like causing trouble."

They had nothing to say.

"Nash and I are divorced! Why do I need protection?" Nina's voice was cold. "What's his game now? Trying to show everyone he's a good guy, taking care of his ex-wife? What about his current girlfriend? Does she approve?" No matter how sarcastic Nina was, Nash could not hear her, so she decided not to waste her breath.

"Take me to him!" she demanded directly.

The two men had no choice but to comply. They had witnessed Nash's pain and helplessness after the divorce, and they did not want to see their relationship deteriorate further.

But there was nothing they could do to change the situation. There were some things they just could not say.

Nina had already said plenty last time, trying to snap Nash out of his act. Clearly, she had not been harsh enough. This time, she was determined to be make her point and avoid any future trouble.

Before leaving, she said goodbye to Scott and Wilfred, then got into the military vehicle heading to Nash's place.

Her apartment was far from the mansion, but Nash's place was nearby. They arrived in less than ten minutes.

Nash owning property here was not surprising, given his company acquisitions in the area.

Inside, there were no helpers, just a few soldiers. It was quiet.

Nina got out of the car, storming inside with quick steps. Felix and James followed, worried about the punishment they would face.

The front door was open. Nina walked in and shouted, "Nash!"

It was empty, with no sign of Nash. The interior was lavishly decorated, but it felt like no one actually lived there.

Nina did not care. Finding no one downstairs, she headed upstairs. "Nash, come out! Don't think hiding will stop me!

"You've had people follow me, disrupting my life. What's the point? Is it that hard to stay apart?

"If you keep this up, I'll call the police!"
