Chapter 28

"Why do I feel like something changed between you and the Alpha?" Anna asked as she helped me finish the speech, I'm going to present at the nearing event that will happen days from now. I couldn't stop my smile at what Anna said. But I kept quiet and continued to write to supplement my speech. "I saw you smiling, Luna...this is what I expected," she teased. I removed my smile and narrowed my eyes at her.

"What do you mean by that?" I raised my eyebrows. Even though others see Anna as my handmaid, for me she's my best friend. I can only tell her all my complaints about Damon, and I feel like she knows me well even though we've only been together for a little while.

"You already fall for him, aren't you?" she smiled playfully. I blinked and just shook my head. This is one thing I don't want to let her know. I feel like it's just for Damon and me. Ever since we made up after our last fight, I feel better. Damon also treated me better. He's always the same as before but I feel his care...for me in his every move. I don't want to hope because I know that he may still love Neticia but I know that somehow I have entered his heart. Damn! I never thought that I would really want to enter a man's heart. If then I wanted to escape from his hand, now I can hardly imagine myself without him.

Anna and I successfully finished my speech in the library. At the same time, Britney entered for my study session with her. Since I was determined to help Damon as the Luna of this kingdom, I eagerly listened to Britney. I even have a notebook with me to take down

notes.

When it was over, I stayed in the library looking for a book that could teach me about what happened when the former Alpha Devon died. I instructed Anna to send the speech I made to Delta Robin and proofread it if there was anything wrong.

I was stunned when I saw a strange book. Because it doesn't have anything on the cover page. Its cover page is just plain brown, and the papers used here are obviously old. I opened it and was stunned to see who its author was.

"Alpha Devon Tristan Scot..." I read. Then Damon's brother is writing a book. I flipped the paper to another page and started reading it. The book was just all about Scot's family. He describes how the Scot family lived and how they founded such a large kingdom. While reading I noticed that he mentioned some names that do not seem to be included in the first family of the Scots. This is probably Damon's cousin who has not returned to the palace until now.

Many more were mentioned there until it ended with the birth of his brother named Damon Timothy Scot. So, this book is about Alpha Devon's life before the arrival of his youngest brother.

I was about to close the book when I saw something strange on the book's last page. I frowned when I saw that there was a torn page there. I opened the book, but the torn page was not there. Why is this page torn? Also, is it possible to tear a page here? I doubt it!

"Athena?" I quickly put the book back on the shelf when I heard Damon's voice enter the library. "What are you doing there?" he asked when I got close to him.

"Just reading some books," I shrugged.

"Are you done?" he asked softly and reached my waist to hold me closer to him. My heart started beating out of my chest again. His simple move like this is making me excited and...damn nervous.

"Yeah...the case is it's still early for dinner," I said and even though I was nervous I forced myself to look directly into his eyes. I don't know why he can look at me straight when I'm struggling? I just feel like his eyes are like a million audiences staring at me, trying to read me, or taking my soul.

"Then, let's go somewhere," he said and pulled me out of the library. I let him take me somewhere. I saw Stone follow us.

"Just stay here, Stone. We'll leave alone," Damon stopped him. Damon didn't seem to want us to be with anyone else to where we were going. I'm more excited. An alone time with Damon is very precious to me. Damon is very busy, and he hardly has time for other things, now that he is with me, having time for each other is very important to me.

"But-"

"We'll go now," Stone was speechless when Damon suddenly changed his form! He's transforming into his wolf form! Damn it!

I blinked when his appearance completely changed. Compared to other wolves I see in this palace or even in Stone, he is much bigger and more elegant. He looks majestic in front of my eyes.

"Hop in," he talks to me in my mind. I smiled at him. He lowered his body so I could ride on his back. I clung tightly to his soft fur as he began to walk.

"Where are we going, Damon?" I only asked now because I was overcome with amazement at what was happening.

"To my favorite place," he said in my mind and started to run faster. A strong wind blew my hair as Damon ran fast. I feel so light and happy while feeling the cold wind touching my face. I can't stop smiling because I can see the beautiful scenery again from here behind Damon.

Damon is very agile. He can jump into the big rocks that block the way. Even on the broken roads, he can jump, until we reached the other side of the place.

"Isn't it dangerous, Damon?" I worriedly ask because the roads we're taking are getting more dangerous. I didn't know that the road to his favorite place was so dangerous.

"I will never put you in danger, Athena..." he said to assure me. Something touched my heart. I felt like I was floating on air. I don't understand what I feel but just with those words, I am satisfied.

"So...you're happy...huh?" My eyes widened when he said that in my mind! Damn it! I forgot that he could read my mind whenever he's in his wolf form!

"Stop reading my mind, Damon!" I warned him as he jumped at the high cliff! I shrieked a little because of what happened. Shit! That was...dangerous!

"Damon! Where are we going? Why is the road here like this?!" I can't help but panic. He chuckled inside my mind.

"Don't worry...we're near," he said. My grip on his black fur got tighter and tighter and when he stopped at the top of a hill, I couldn't stop being amazed. From here on the top of the hill, I can see the nearby plains, and at the end are the mountains that protect the kingdom of Agama. And from here I can see the orange sky and the sun that is about to bid goodbye to the sky.

"H-How'd you know this place?" I exclaimed in amazement.

"From my father," he answered. A strong wind blew. I turned to him. I saw how the wind whipped his black fur. He looks amazing in his wolf form shit!

"He always brings me here with my brother," he added in my mind. So, this place is special to him.

"Then... why did you bring me here?" I asked curiously. His decision was sudden. He just took me out of the palace just the two of us. My cheeks got flushed thinking that it could be called a date!

"The last time our father brought us here was when I was still five years old. This place is very important to my father because this is where our kingdom begins. He told us if the day comes that he won't be able to be with us when we return to this hill...we must bring someone important to us..." he said. My heart started racing again. So, is he saying...I'm important to him too?

"A-Am I...important to you, Damon?" I swallowed hard at my question to him. I faced him. His golden wolf eyes are staring at me directly. And it's making my heart throb.

"Yes..." he replied in my mind. I bit my lower lip and reached for his furry jaw. I felt his soft fur. I don't want to ask more than that. It is enough that I know that I am important to him. I don't want to replace words beyond that because I'm afraid...I'm afraid of the depth of my feelings for him.
