Chapter 206: [Bonus] Palkus’ Journey! 18

As Palkus had promised Adena, they were back before the group could even set foot on the city.

"So? Is he a B-rank now? Or should I ask, Is he a max level?" Adena, seeing that the duo were back full of smiles, asked. She was tired, yes, but she had to know.

"Well... Since it was easier for us, we went a step further." Palkus scratched his head while Azeroth just stood there next to him, still not believing the progress he managed to make in just a single day.

"A step further? No, don't tell me..." Lorea didn't want to believe what her mind told her.

"Yeah, I am a max-level A-rank now. If everything goes well, then I can return to being an S-rank in a few days." Azeroth confirmed.

"..." Nobody said a single word when they heard this, they just blinked their eyes as their brains had short circuited.

"Haa, I suggest that you guys stop using common sense." Laff, who was behind the group, said.

"I'm too fucking tired." Adena sighed and turned to head towards the city.

"Ah... Palkus, we will see you in 7 days, same time, same place." Allan, who also had seen more than enough, informed. Then he and Lorea walked towards the city, side by side.

After that, the others also went their own way, leaving only Palkus and those who looked at each other.

"Are you going now?" Palkus asked.

"Yeah, I will be back as soon as I am done." Azeroth replied. He had a tricky condition he had to take care of if he wanted to become an S-rank once again; that was, he had to travel all the way back to Draco's continent.

"Alright, see you then." Palkus smiled and stretched his fist towards him. Azeroth took a look at the fist and smiled back before he bumped it. Then he teleported away.

"What should I do now?" Palkus, who had nothing else to do for the next few days, thought. He had money, he had his equipment, he had no missions...

"Hmm..." Suddenly, a figure appeared in his mind. Thinking of her, or rather, her DAMN, Palkus became serious.

"I guess I have my next mission." He thought to himself. Indeed, Palkus was thinking about the receptionist who helped him go to the guild master's room twice. The image of her going up the stairs...

"Yep, I'm doing it right now." Palkus, without thinking any further, ran towards the city.

A couple minutes later, he was in front of the guild, his heart beating uncontrollably.

"Let's go, Palkus; you can do it!" He encouraged himself. For such a young lad who was taught to never back down against his own ambitions, such a thing as anxiety was but a temporary struggle.

It's just because aside from his childhood friends, the young lad only had some occasional father-son or even master-disciple talk, giving him the information he needed to aim for his first prey.

Opening the door to the guild, Palkus' eyes immediately went to look at Emily, the receptionist. Without making himself look too suspicious, he went towards her and tried to act cool.

"Hello, Miss Recepionist." The first thing he did was to go towards the counter, put his both hands on it, then hold his cheeks and look at her with a smile.

"Ah... Mr. Palkus. Hello again." The receptionist, seeing Palkus, smiled back and greeted him.

"Are you done with your mission?" she asked.

"Yes. I think I'm the first to arrive here. Well, the others probably went to rest." Palkus looked around behind him and then back at the receptionist.

"I see. Anything unexpected happened?" She asked.

"Not really... Oh, aside from the fact that the nightwatcher was an EX-rank." Palkus suddenly remembered.

"How is that not unexpected?!" The receptionist who was going to put the mission as complete, heard Palkus' last words and shouted.

"Wait, wait, how did you even complete the mission when the strongest of you are only SSS-rank?" Suddenly, Emily calmed down and asked.

"Oh, I killed it. It even dropped this." Palkus replied as he took out the huge mana crystal, making it float behind him and blocking Emily's view.

"That's... a mana crystal... It's also huge, so you weren't lying." Emily analyzed the crystal, as she said.

"I'm afraid we will have to inform the guild master once again." Emily got out of the counter and gestured for Palkus to follow her.

"Ah... do I really have to go up there every time?" Palkus stored the mana crystal back as he followed, not forgetting to look at the DAMN he was after.

"It's not my fault that you're always participating in something so crazy." Emily, who was walking in front of Palkus, blushed slightly while feeling his stares.

'This is the third time already.' She thought to herself, but she didn't react in any way.

When they reached the guild master's room, Emily knocked once again.

"Ahhh, who is it at this time of the day again? Don't you know people can be asleep? Enter." Valentine's voice was heard from the other side of the room.

"Guild Master, it's only you who sleeps at this time of the day." Emily, opening the door, closed her eyes and said while shaking her head.

"Oh? If it isn't Palkus. Did you miss me? Yeha, you definitely missed me. Why else would you be here? Come come, have a seat." Valentine, who was resting her head on her desk, glanced at who was here and when she saw Palkus, she got up energetically, wiping the drool off her face without letting anybody see it.

"Not really no; I'm not here to see you. It's Miss Receptionist who brought me here again." Palkus explained, still going towards the seat.

"Huh? Emily did? Why's that?" She asked, looking at her receptionist.

"They met an EX-rank nightwatcher, and Palkus managed to kill it... It even dropped a crystal."

"WHAT?!"
