Chapter 32 — Sibling Rivalry

Lola:

I stepped out of the SUV and headed to the front door of my father's large estate. I woke up in the back seat with Caesar next to me, and Kalvon driving. I had to argue with them about bringing me here. They gave me some bullshit line about being safe and staying away from Bash. Fuck that fool right about now.

The only person I wanted to see was my backstabbing sister. Lois had some damn explaining to do. The guards on my father's property were all familiar to me. I always knew he was crooked growing up, just never cared to inquire about it. I knocked on the door and my dad opened it swiftly.

"Lala, baby this is an answered prayer from the "

"Cork that crap daddy. I know damn well you were not too worried about me. Where the hell is your star child hiding at? Lois!"

I yelled out shoving past him. My dad didn't even bother stopping me as I stomped up the steps. This house had not changed since we were children. They never updated our rooms, on account they wanted them preserved. Whatever the fuck that means.

When we did visit there were designated guest bedrooms for us. I by passed mine and went straight for the door at the end of the hallway. I pushed the door open and saw Lois sleeping peacefully in the plush queen bed.

She was about to get a rude awakening. A cat fight was not in my plans but looking at her now so peacefully without a care in the world pissed me off. I wanted her to be shocked back to the current events. I walked over to the bathroom and dumped the toothbrushes out of the holder. I turned the faucet on, and the water was ice cold.

I hummed to myself while the fluid spilled into the holder. This reminded me of the pranks we used to pull on each other as kids. Whenever we had sleepovers there was no limit to the jokes we played. Putting hands in water to see if the victim would pee themselves. Hot sauce in their mouth was also a good one.

This was no laughing matter this time around. Lois was going to be pissed when she saw my face standing over her. I walked back into the bedroom and climbed on top of my sister's sleeping body. That REM cycle is a bitch because she had not moved a muscle. I dumped the water onto her face, and she jolted up.

"Agh! What the hell? Lola what the fuck is wrong with you!"

"I could ask you the same question Sis," I said then back handed Lois across the face. I was sitting on her mid-section. She had very little I maneuver room. The shock on her face said she was still lost. I pulled my hand back to whack her once

more.

Lois quickly pulled my face toward hers and head butted the shit out of me. I yelled out and rolled off her. Lois jumped up ready for war with her fists up. My sister was stuck up as hell, but I knew she was no slouch.

"How could you sleep with Bash? You sat there and listened to me cry out my soul about his infidelities. You were the rank pussy bitch in his office the night of my party too huh?"

I said, and a few tears dropped from my eyes with the realization. The one person in the world I valued the most had turned on me. I took Lois for granted growing up, but that changed once we both were married. Lois dropped her hands and began to laugh. That evil sound a villain gave off before revealing a diabolical plan to you.

"Lola, you have some damn nerve. Were you ever going to tell me about your history with Adonis? Oh! You didn't think I knew, did you? Well, he never was good at deleting messages, or locking his phone when we first got together. Men are pigs, that much I knew. There was nothing in his phone that stated you two were serious at all. When I announced our engagement to you that night. I knew something was off. Your facial expression said it all, but you never spoke on it. Had you been an adult and spoke up, I would have called it off immediately. You meant more to me than any man ever could. No, you like to play bullshit games and stay in competition with me."

"So, what, fucking Bash was payback for a misunderstanding, and small overlapping with Donnie?"

Lois laughed again and this time it was good natured.

"We may share the same gene type, but we are not similar at all. No Bash and I just happened, and I felt terrible initially. I was no better than you and to continue it made me feel like scum. As time went on Adonis morphed into a stranger. I thought the problem was me. You were all about materialistic shit and not tending to Sebastian's needs. We fell hard for one another, and I will not deny that. Now everything has changed with the revelation of him and Donnie being cousins." Lois was entirely too damn calm with her explanation. She was not even upset. My little sister was not the person I used to believe her to be. I expected her to beg my forgiveness and give a bunch of excuses.

Instead, she calls me out on my own skeletons and admits she fell for my damn man. This is the most emotional forty-eight hours of my life. Lois was waiting for my response, but I was truly lost for syllables right now.

A knock at the door stopped Lois from speaking. Our father walked in and shook his head at both of us. The last time Leo was disappointed in both of us was when we snuck out to a party on the Westside. We were in the middle of the ghetto with drug dealers, hookers and pimps. That night was one of the most fun we had together back in the day.

"Have you two had your Oprah Winfrey moment? Can we get to the real issue that is going on?"

"Daddy why do you always take her side on things? For once can you just scold your precious Lo for being a backstabbing hoe?"

Lois sucked her teeth and rolled her neck. Who the hell was this new woman before me? Leo continued to stare at me without blinking or movement. I prepared for one of his infamous speeches that were meant to inspire a person to see the error in ones' ways.

"Lola you are my first born and with that title comes a lot of responsibility. I may have placed too much on you and that is my fault. The Jennings name has not been sullied for three decades and now that comes to an end. Did you think that your little tryst with Adonis would go unnoticed all those years? He was playing you, and you fell for it. Lois, I don't know what the fuck you were thinking sleeping with that gun dealing asshole Sebastian. He comes from the same stock as his cousin. I thought you may have some influence over Adonis and changed his conniving ways. The union of you and Adonis, Lois could have ended this blood feud years ago. But no, because you were too busy sexing someone else." "You said all that to say what father?"

Dad and I both craned our necks in the direction of Lois. She never spoke back to him ever in our entire lives that I could remember. My father chuckled a bit as if he had heard wrong. My sister was brand-fucking-new, and Bash's dick was the reason for it.

"You two are married to men that are on a mission to bring me down. That simply will not happen while blood still courses through my veins. Now is the time for the Jennings to come together. Whatever anger the two of you have about husband swapping better be resolved before you leave this damn room."

Dad exited the room, closing the door behind himself. Lois and I stared into one another's souls, searching for a solution to this problem. I had every intention on coming here to beat her ass and then take care of Bash. My dad's little speech introduced more drama than I could fathom.

Why were the guys after him? Were Lois and I just pawn in their twisted, sick little game? I was never good at critical, three-dimensional thinking. That skill belonged to Lois and given her attitude she was already spinning the possibility wheel in her head.

"Well, I guess we have a few options, don't we, Lala? We can band together with our father or fight over Sebastian."

"Don't talk to me like I am a child, Lo. You are far worse than me. Adonis was right."

"Hmm and when did you discuss that with my husband? While on your knees in his office?"

"What the hell has gotten into you! I have never slept with Adonis after the two of you got married, ever."

I lied but Lois didn't have to know that. She was behaving like her actions were not wrong on so many fucking levels right now. Adonis and I did fuck in his office a year after they married. I was a drunken emotional mess going over there to curse him for destroying my faith in men. Adonis had just closed a big case and was on his way out the door.

When he saw me, his face had that sinister grin. I knew right then that was my last chance. I dropped to my knees and undid his belt buckle. I gave an Oscar award winning performance on that cherry oak desktop. After all the sweating moaning and sperm, he shot all over my body, and down my throat. He scolded me like a child. Said that I was desperate and pitiful.

"Lola if you could stop fantasizing about my husband's dick action. We could get back to the here and now."

"Who are you and what have you done with my little sister?"

The words left my mouth before I could stop them. Lois did not answer my question, she followed it with one of her own.

"Do you love Bash? I mean really love him for who he is. Not just what he can provide you with? Do you know what he truly does for a living? Dealing drugs was never in his wheelhouse. You asked me to look at his finances for a mistress or hiding assets for a divorce. What I found was so much more important. Right now, my concern is our father and his legacy falling. Can we work together to solve that mystery first?"

The first few questions flew over my head. I didn't owe her an explanation regarding my intentions with my husband. She was asking me to just sweep our beef under the carpet for daddy. Why was it when they were in the wrong it was never front-page news.

Had this shit went the other way and I was caught; my father would be raging. Lois would be crying a river. I was curious to know the connection with the men in my life. I cleared my throat and stuck my hand out to Lois as a temporary peace offering and spoke.

"This is for daddy but when its over-"

CLAP!

Lois slapped the shit out of my face and walked out of the room calling to our father. That slimy bitch just didn't know that we were more alike than she wanted to believe. I walked over to the nightstand and picked up the phone dialing Bash. He was not going to get off so easily.

The phone went straight to voicemail, and I left a nice irate message for his cheating ass. I stood by my family name always, but this was different. Did I really want to save my marriage knowing that my husband had fallen for my little sister?
