Chapter 81
"W...what are you talking about." Eric stammered, staring at Vanessa intently, his heart heating twice faster
"What do you mean, sweetheart? I've told you to always do away with those thoughts. You can't be crying all the time over something that is not true. You are going to harm the baby!"
"Come on, mom. Why do you think I am going to be crying over a false alarm? Julz would never give me false information, it all makes sense now why all my efforts have been in vain since the beginning of everything, Cole loves me but Halley has been using the children on him that is why he is stuck with her."
"Look at me over here dreaming that I am going to give Cole his first heir and we would have a happily ever after. Guess what? Not just one. But there are two kids before mine. How the hell is Cole ever going to take me seriously? I keep wondering why he keeps ignoring me, so this is it?" Vanessa cried, taking a seat on the edge of her parents' bed.
Eric stood still in shock. Still not believing his eyes and ears. "Hailey? Two kids?" He brought up two fingers, not comfortable with the ache he was feeling in his heart.
"Did you know about this?" Connie attacked her husband.
"you need to quit being a hypocrite and stop attacking me with questions like this. You literally have access to me all the time and that includes my phone and whereabouts. How the hell did you expect me to know this when I disowned her before you all!" Eric said to his wife, then turned his attention to his daughter,
"Are you
sure about this? There is no way Hailey would be the biological mom and we wouldn't know all these while."
"Keeping a child away from members of its family, especially its father, is very ridiculous. I think Moore would have confronted me about it if this was true also."
you want. But just know that I am not one to give fake rumors."
"You both are free to think what you
Eric sighed, taking steps to the other side of his room, and running his fingers through his hair.
"I'm so sorry this had to happen, baby. But Please can you stop crying? This is really sad if it's true but tears cannot solve anything"
"I lost. I lost it all.
Eric sighed deeply, approaching his daughter and his wife. "I know I've asked you this question so many times but I am going to ask again and I would appreciate it if you tell me the truth. Who is the father of the child you are carrying, Vanessa!"
"Please don't start, Eric, I would advise you to stay quiet if you've got nothing to say. Why would you even begin to doubt your daughter again?"
"Something like this happens and the first thing that comes to her mind is how she lost Cole?"Eric said, then turned his attention to his daughter. "Aren't you triggered by the fact that you and your sister have the same baby daddy? Have some shame, Vee. What will the world say about this? And trust me, you are going to be ridiculed. I bet your fans would want to know what you were doing with your sister's man." "In as much as this should teach you a life lesson, I doubt you are going to give up after this."
"Besides, if Cole is the father, your concern would be on the morality of your actions and not what you've lost when this isn't clearly a battle." "Shame? If there is anyone that should feel any shame, then it should be Halley Cole has always been mine!"
"But she was married to him for three good years. You expect them to be together for three years without touching themselves?" Eric lashed out at his daughter.

Connie was about to intervene but Eric cut her oft
"Don't you dare come up with your defensive speech of me taking sides with Hailey. I disowned a whole daughter just to please you both disowned her even when I knew her mother was dead and I'm the only one she has as family so don't you dare try to play the victim card. Eric glared at his wife in a way that feared Connie. She had never seen her husband that angry.
"Yes, I agree that in the beginning Cole wanted you but you trashed him and he ended up with your sister. Live with the pain, heal from it, and leave them the bell alone!" Eric scolded his daughter, making her cry even more.
"Yeah, this is a confirmation that I am going to be ridiculed for being the worst father on earth. Two sisters having children for the same man?" Eric shook his head in disbelief. "Never in my worst nightmare did think I would be in this situation."
"You are to stay away from Hailey and Cole. You've disobeyed me in the past and I have done nothing to get back at you but this is me giving you my word that I am not going to overlook you again. Do anything stupid and I will hand you over to the cops myself"
"Once the child is bom, we would conduct a DNA test. If the child is Cole's, we will replace a way about it but if Cole is not the father, I promise you that you will pay for all the heartaches you put us through!" Glaring at his wife and daughter, Eric stormed out of the room.
"I hate Daddy so much. Are you sure he gave birth to me? Are you sure he is my real father?" Vanessa sniffled when her Dad was out of the
way.
Connie rushed to her daughter's side and sat beside her. "Don't pay any attention to him, my love. Eric is not in a good mood. I'm sure he is going to come around real soon."
"I love Cole too much, mama. I don't want to lose him. I feel even more pain because she has two boys for him. I thought Julz was lying until he told me they looked so much like Cole. I would have gotten the upper hand if they were girls. But what the hell am I supposed to do now? All my efforts are in vain but what hurts the most is that I feel like a fool. They must have been laughing at my back so badly." "How am I going to ever get access to Cole's wealth?"
The Next Day.
Hailey groaned, slowly turning around on the bed with her eyes closed.
She mumbled some incoherent words and tried to get back to sleep but that failed. Hailes had the urge to throw up so she jumped down from her bed and fled to the adjoining bathroom. She went on her knees, her head against the toilet seat, as she puked out her guts.
It was as though she had no strength left in her when she was done so she sat on the floor for a while to gather some energy-
A couple of minutes later, Hailey cleaned up and then got into the shower. She dried her body and changed into another nightdress. She dried her hair, put it in a messy bun, and then made her way to the living
room.
Hailey heard familiar voices in the kitchen so she made her way there. Ollie and Enzo were seated on the dining table, having breakfast, while Debbie was by the stove, making something that smells yummy. "Mommy!" Her twins said in unison, smiling at her.
Hailey made her way over to them. She kissed Oliver on the cheek and did the same to Enzo.
"Slept well?" She asked, smiling in between both boys.

They nodded, chewing some pancakes.
Hailey made her way over to Debbie who was now by the counter. "You look tired. Is everything, okay? This didn't look like the pajamas you wore last night."
"I don't think I am going to show up at work today," Hailey mumbled, She proceeded to the rack, reached for a glass cup, and then came back to where Debbie was. She was about to pour some orange juice for herself when Debbie intervened.
"Let me assist you." She took the glass cup from Hailey and poured some juice for Hailey.
"Morning sickness?" Debbie asked, handing her the cup filled with some juice.
"Thank you." Hailey responded, accepting the glass cup.
"I think so." She mumbled, bringing the cup to her lips.
"You don't like it?" Debbie asked upon seeing Hailey's reaction to the drink.
Hailey sighed, placing the glass on the counter. "It tastes so bland. I miss coffee." Her eyes darted to the coffee machine.
Debbie smiled sadly. "Don't look that way. There's no coffee. I didn't make one today because I know you've got a weakness for that."
Hailey sighed, massaging her temple. "I think I am regretting this already."
