Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore) -
Chapter 116
“Well, it’s not like I don’t know that,” Rebecca said. “Maybe I have a bit of an old–fashioned mindset, but I firmly believe that the people I pick are always right.
“Look at Wesley. He’s still clinging to Sydney after he finally saw the good in his wife. When I chosehis wife for him, he was so unwilling. He always acted like the whole world owed him something.
“Men always realize things late. Luckily, you and Theo have a good relationship. I’m not toooverbearing in this matter. After all, you two have a ten–year foundation of love.”
Rosalie smiled bitterly. “Yeah, Grandma. Theo and I are doing fine. You don’t have to worry aboutus.”
“Right, there won’t be any problems between you two. Even though that girl Cynthia was somehowbetween you two before this, it’s all
settled now.”
This was the first time Rosalie heard Cynthia’s name from Rebecca’s lips.
She suddenly wanted to ask Rebecca if Rebecca really did something during Cynthia’s surgery thatcaused the delay.
In the end, all of what Rosalie knew was just Cynthia’s side of the story. She couldn’t fully trust it. Ifshe asked Rebecca about this, Rebecca woman would surely suspect why Rosalie was askingsuch
questions.
With how smart Rebecca was, she would probably guess that Cynthia was causing trouble again. Itwould only make things messier.
Seeing Rosalie lost in thought, Rebecca asked, “What’s wrong, Rose?”
Rebecca noticed that Rosalie fell silent when she mentioned Cynthia.
Did something happen?
Feeling Rebecca growing suspicious, Rosalie quickly said, “I’m fine, Grandma. I’m just still not overDad and Mom’s situation. It feels like a pity. If Dad had liked Mom earlier, it would’ve been better. Now, it seems a bit too late.”
“I’m not sure about that,” Rebecca said. “But you don’t need to worry about them. They’ve lived halftheir lives and seen many things. After all these years of ups and downs, they probably have theirown way of getting along. Just focus on living a good life with Theo.”
Rosalie nodded. “Okay, Grandma. I understand.”
“What’s more important is to have a child soon,” Rebecca said, bringing up the topic again.
“I know you’re young and maybe want to have a few more years to yourselves, but having a childearly is also fine. You can hire the best helpers to take care of the child, and do whatever you wantwithout worrying about anything. When you come home, you can play with the child.”
Seeing the anticipation in Rebecca’s eyes, Rosalie felt uneasy again. She wanted to tell the olderwoman that she was pregnant to make her happy.
But she couldn’t.
Just then, Theodore walked in, breaking the tension. “Grandma, I’m here.”
His arrival conveniently shifted the topic.
Rebecca glanced at him coldly. “You finally decided to show up. I thought the high and mighty CEOmight be too busy to remember
having a meal with his grandmother
Rebecca’s tone was sarcastic.
Theodore smiled faintly. “Sorry, Grandma. There were really a lot of things at the company, and Iunintentionally got delayed. But I’m here. now, right?”
“You have some nerve,” Rebecca snorted coldly. “Rose came early to keep me company. Everytime, you have something come up and are always late.”
“Grandma, don’t be mad at Theo. Let’s have dinner together, okay? I’m sure we’ll have a better timenow that Theo is here,” Rosalie said.
She always knew how to ease the tension between them.
Although Rebecca was scolding her grandson, she softened after hearing Rosalie’s words. Shecared about Rosalie, so naturally, she indulged Rosalie all the time,
