We had no other choice but to follow my grandmother all her way home. We left Ash in the rest house and went out of the place as soon as my grandmother walked away.

I still felt nervous because of the fact that my grandma was fuming mad. I tried to talk to her as we walked our way home. I even tried to apologize for my stupidity and assured her that nothing has happened between me and Evan. I explained that we really just had to spend the night in the rest house because we were too wasted to go home all by ourselves.

But my grandma didn't say a word and only raised her brow on me. She shook her head before entering our house's main gate. I pursed my lips and stopped for a moment. This is insane!

Chandria walked towards me. "What did she say?"

I could only sigh in defeat. "We are doomed, Chandria."

Our bodyguards followed my grandmother and walked inside our premise and the I felt Evan and Sei's presence behind us.

"Your grandmother is too strict," Sei commented with a boyish grin on his lips.

I pouted my lips. I understand my grandma and the way she reacted. I would actually react the same way if I were on her position and I think her reaction was normal as an elder.

I felt Evan's hand on my shoulder. I suddenly gasped for air as his touch sent shivers up to my spine. I can't help but to look at him. Our eyes locked with each other. I could feel his concern as it was evident in his eyes. "Please don't worry too much," he uttered softly and I know that he only wanted me to feel better.

I nodded slowly and let out another sigh. Well, it's better to face my grandmother's wrath with these three idiots than to face it alone.

"Let's get in." I said with all my courage.

My heart was like on a marathon as we entered into the main gate. Sei was busy praising the designs of our house, somehow unbothered by the fact that my grandmother is mad, while Evan was just walking beside me. I swallowed so hard and led the way. I felt the lump in my throat as we headed in our living room.

I saw my grandma Helga who sat in a single couch in between of two long couches. The four of us looked at each other. I bit my lower lip and sat on the couch on the right side. Chandria sat beside me while Evan and Sei sat on the left couch. My eyes fell on floor. I felt too guilty as if I was a child and waiting to be punished any moment.

"I remember when I was still young back in the days. Most of the men in our city can't even court me easily. My mother wanted me to be prim and proper... to be a conservative woman who knows the right values and would act properly..." grandma started her lecture with her grumpy voice.

Chandria and I could not help but to gaze at each other. She pouted her lips and then her eyes fell on the floor as well. Even the boys were silent. We let my grandmother spoke her mind.

"The men in our city were all afraid to get close to me. They were trying to get my parents' permissions and blessing first in order to talk to me or ask me on a date..."

I bit my lower lip once again. My grandmother was really good at making me feel too guilty! For the record, Evan and I did not do anything wrong... I didn't even know if he slept with me on the same bed or what. I just woke up without him inside his room!

"And now I'm kind of disappointed that these values are already being forgotten in this generation. Young men and women these days don't know the value of putting a limitation to everything they do..." "Grandma-"

"These young women who are supposed to be prim and proper and must be conservative are most likely the ones who loves stronger alcoholic drinks and get wasted too much. They act wilder than men these days..." grandma added in dismayed. Chandria could not even finished her words. "They will drink a lot and get wasted, and then they won't go home instead they would sleep in different places or in their boyfriends' places and act like married couples. What a world!" I felt the throbbing pain in my head upon hearing my grandmother's statement. All I could do was to massaged the side of my head and reminded myself that it was still our fault. I needed to listen to her because I understand how she felt toward this situation.

This was really my fault. I should've acted better. I drank a lot of tequila reason why I got wasted... I let Chandria drank too so we didn't get a chance to go home. Things like this would've been prevented if only I acted carefully. I want to hit my head for being so stupid!

I gazed at the two mean who were sitting on the other couch. Evan was listening to my grandmother carefully. He looked very serious but calm, but I can sense that he was also prepared for everything that was about to happen, like he already planned how would he react or explain himself in front of my grandmother. On the other hand, Sei was like a dumb ass who kept biting his lower lip, preventing himself to laugh out loud. "Young men," Grandma Helga finally gazed at the two men on sitting on her left side. "Mind to introduce yourselves?"

Evan cleared his throat. "My name is Evan Zendejas, Madame."

"And name is Sei, grandma!"

"You are not my grandson," grandma fired at Sei in her cold voice.

I almost bit my tongue just to prevent myself from laughing out loud while I heard Chandria giggling softly beside me. She cleared her throat too and tried to stop herself from laughing.

"Uh..." Sei smiled awkwardly and caressed his nape like a shy type guy. "I'm sorry, Madame. I am Sei and I'm Chandria's boyfriend."

I looked at my grandmother's reaction. The grim on her face remained the same. She raised her brow while staring at Sei.

"Yeah, you must be the boyfriend but that's all. You're not her husband yet," she told Sei and then her gaze turned to Evan. "And you..."

I felt the coldness and ruthlessness of my grandmother towards Evan and I can't really blame her if she acts this way. Grandma Helga has learned what happened in Manila when I went here in Bohol. He knew Evan- the man who did not show up at the night of our supposed engagement announcement. The person who brought misfortune in our lives and the very reason why our company end up failing. "Madame..." Evan lowered his head as if he would accept whatever my grandma was going to fire at him.

The atmosphere here in the living room has changed. I felt my heart beating faster than earlier. I swallowed hard as I knew that my grandmother was only trying to hold on to her patience and controlling herself so she would not explode. "You didn't have the slightest idea as to how my granddaughter suffered because of what you have done, young man. Now, you're here. Tell me what's your intention this time? Why are you seeing my granddaughter now?"

My lips parted as I didn't expect my grandmother to say these things to Evan. I breathed heavily and gave them a look. I cleared my throat and gathered all my courage to speak up just so Evan wouldn't me grilled with all my grandma's questions.

"Grandma, I swear we didn't do anything wrong. It just so happened that Evan and Sei were also at the same bar last night that's why things happened..." I reasoned out and then I gazed back at Evan. "We didn't do anything. There's nothing going on between me and Evan. We're just..." I tried to think of a right word but he was looking at me right now and it made my mind go haywire. "We're just trying to be civil with each other."

"If that's the case, then why are you staying here in Bohol, Zendejas?" grandma was still looking at Evan. She seemed to have accepted my explanation but was not convinced enough to stop her interrogation to Evan. Damn it! "I'm staying here because I just wanted to check on your granddaughter, Madame." He answered directly while looking at me.

I blinked twice as I felt my heart skip a beat but I was able to composed myself and creased my forehead to hide my emotion. I tried to warn him by making an eye gesture.

"And why is that? What are your motives that you even made an effort to go all the way here from Manila? Aren't you supposed to live your life without her?" My grandma was like challenging him. I could hear the bitterness in her voice. "Grandma, please!" I called her with my voice almost pleading her to stop.

I felt Chandria's hand on my shoulder. I gazed her and she just shook her head like she wanted me to shut up and listen to their conversation.

"Answer me, Evan Zendejas!" Grandma's shout was like a thunder.

My eyes widened in shock. I clenched my jaw as my lips started to form a thin line. This was the only first time I've seen my grandmother act this way. She was the kind of person who doesn't even shout at her lazy bodyguards. It became clearer to me that she's damn mad at Evan, or she hates him so much... I felt my chest tightening.

This isn't right.

"I apologize, Madame." Said Evan in a formal tone. "I could not blame you if you're mad at me. I understand where you're coming from. What I have done in the past was really unforgivable."

"I'm glad you realized that!" grandma exclaimed sarcastically.

"I came here because I wanted to see your granddaughter and to apologize to her personally..." Evan continued. "I didn't want her to suffer, Madame. And it wasn't part of my intention to hurt your family too. If you could give me another chance, I will do everything to turn things around so that Risha would be able to forgive me too..."

I looked away. I blinked several times as I felt the hot tears forming on the side of my eyes... Damn it!
