Chapter 427 The First Christmas After Marriage

Christmas is the most important holiday of the year for most people

As far as I know, many colleagues in TWH would choose to return to their parents' homes during the Christmas holiday and enjoy a warm and joyful time with their families

However, such things were difficult to achieve in my former home. In the eyes of my biological parents, who were biologists, there were only breeding days for penguins, and no holidays that humans should celebrate together

So in previous years, I always spent it with my friends

Nick was single except for last year and had plenty of time to spend with me during the holidays. On the other hand, Cinder had a large family and would usually show up for dinner, but she didn't like staying in that huge mansion at other times

But this year is different, I have formed a new family. Nick will be attending the party with some new single colleagues, Cinder is still working overtime for a new work project, and even Eliott could only schedule a lunch date with her

It seems that the people around me did not attach much importance to Christmas, let alone consider it as an important festival for family reunions

As for Aaron..

I was making a Christmas wreath while watching him take turns feeding milk to his two daughters. He seemed unaware that the upcoming holiday was originally a day meant for a family reunion

When we got married, Mr. Morris and Mrs

Morris had a busy schedule, and Aaron's brother Joe happened to be away in Asia for an important meeting. So, all in all, I had not formally met Aaron's family yet

Christmas is a great opportunity, and I think we should buy some gifts and take a trip back to New York while everyone is celebrating the holiday. After all, Iam Aaron's wife and can be considered a new member of the Morris family

However, the front gate of the Morris family was not so easy to enter in my mind

Just like any ordinary girl who marries into a wealthy family, I was filled with awe towards the grand building that belonged only to that family. I didn't even know if that house could be considered a "home," and I didn't know if the parents living inside would be as kind and approachable as parents 1n ordinary families

Although to some extent, I have never experienced the life of an ordinary family, I envy

the relaxed and joyful atmosphere in the Colston household

Oh... Speaking of Colston, 1t reminds me even more of the time when I heard something about Aaron's family from him

Mr. Morris was not an easy person to get along with, as evidenced by Colston's account of his strict treatment of Aaron since childhood

Moreover, during the time I spent with Aaron, I

noticed that there was not even a weekly courtesy phone call between father and son! How is this any different from my dysfunctional family?

By the way, Mr. Morris must have been a very conservative person. If he were to replace out that I had intended to cut ties with my parents, such a unique family situation, would it not have made his impression of me extremely negative?

And Aaron's mother, Mrs. Morris, was described by Colston as a woman who favored her eldest son. Aaron said that he had a good relationship with his mother, but there was never any real display of mother-son intimacy, indicating that there were some unknown things in between. Mrs. Morris may also not be the type of person who could accept her son marrying someone with such different circumstances

I listed one trouble after another in my mind, and I even thought about pretending that I had never considered going back to New York for the holiday, and instead quietly spending my first Christmas after marriage in Berlin

But the next second, reason made me overturn my absurd idea

I was already married to Aaron! We were a legal couple and had two children. How could a legal wife not visit her husband's parents year after year?

When the festival arrived, I went to his door with a gift. This was the etiquette I should fulfill and also an essential part for me to truly integrate into Aaron's world

So I smiled and interrupted Aaron's action of washing the milk bottle

"Darling, last Christmas was not a pleasant one

I think this year, we should prepare some gifts before Christmas and spend a real Christmas at Morris' estate in New York."

Aaron paused and furrowed his brow, looking at me as if I had made a ridiculous suggestion

However, he probably also remembered that this was our first Christmas after getting married, and I hadn't visited his family yet

So after several times of wanting to speak but stopping himself, Aaron shrugged and said, "But the condition 1s, if you are not happy staying in that mansion, you should tell me promptly, and we can come back anytime."

Oh my goodness, this doesn't seem like the kind of evaluation one should have for their own home as if it were some kind of den for tigers

and wolves
