Cheat with my boyfriend best friend by Jane E.L. -
Chapter 457
Chapter 457 No Big Loss
Olive's POV:
After Aaron was called away from the table filled with the smell of gunpowder by old Morris, Mrs. Grace also quickly left the restaurant
Joe and I exchanged glances, and he seemed like he wanted to say something to me
However, Jasmin's crying suddenly and abruptly came from upstairs, and instinctively, I turned around and ran towards the direction of the crying, without even having the chance to say comforting words to Joe
Yes, as Aaron's wife, I should comfort Joe in this situation
After all, regardless of whether Aaron ultimately accepted Mr. Morris' appointment, we were already beneficiaries emotionally
I always saw myself as one with Aaron in this house because, apart from me, he couldn't trust anyone here
And when I returned to the room, having soothed Jasmin who was crying loudly because she didn't like the baby food, I could already hear Joe's voice coming from the direction of the stairs as he went upstairs. I didn't have a chance to talk to him again, so I could only wait for Aaron to come back in the room
But waiting and waiting, until both children fell asleep peacefully, there was still no sign of Aaron returning
Fortunately, there was no sound of anything
being broken coming from the study upstairs, indicating that the conversation between the father and son was not too unpleasant
I leaned on the sofa, unable to fall asleep. I opened IG, but all I saw were the secrets of the Morris family. I could only lock my phone screen in annoyance and pour cup after cup of coffee into my stomach
Around two o'clock in the morning, the door of the room was gently pushed open. I immediately Jumped out of bed to turn on the desk lamp and saw Aaron walking 1n slowly, with a hint of exhaustion on his face
When he saw that I was still awake, he was initially surprised, but then he was filled with self-blame, saying, "I forgot to tell you not to wait for me."
"But if you didn't come back, how could I rest assured?"
I chuckled lightly and pulled him to sit down, leaning on his shoulder, smelling the familiar scent on him, and finally letting go of the suspended heart
Regardless of the outcome of his conversation with Mr. Morris, at least he did not come back in a rage. That is enough
Aaron quickly told me everything, but as he spoke those words, I could clearly sense his disbelief
"My father agreed to my conditions, as long as I could stay in New York and run Morris Group with Joe. At the latest, three days from now, all of Maria's identification documents will be changed back to her real name, and every year,
there will be a joint pilgrimage to my mother Grace Hoffman's grave for both of them."
This is tantamount to making old Morris accept the authenticity of those claims on the internet. I looked at Aaron, and it was obvious that he didn't expect his father to agree when he made this condition
But to be honest, if Mr. Morris could really do all that he said, then Aaron wouldn't have to carry such a heavy psychological trauma anymore. At least for his future life, having his father take responsibility voluntarily would make 1t much easier for him
"This 1s a good thing for you, Aaron," I said, gripping his hand, trying to pull him out of his self-doubt. "You have been kind enough, and this is something your father should have taken responsibility for. He took your mother's name away all those years ago, and now he should rightfully give it back."
But my only concern is Joe and Mrs. Grace - or perhaps now she should be called Mrs. Maria - whether they will have any other opinions about Aaron because of this matter, especially Joe
After all, Mrs. Maria is his biological mother, and if Aaron is not very polite to his mother, I don't know if it will affect the relationship between the brothers
IL also told all these words to Aaron, but his reaction was much more subdued than before
"Thad told Joe before that I would never take away what rightfully belongs to him, the inheritance of Morris Group, because of my father's reasons. I never thought about it before, and I will not fight for it in the future. As for Maria, she chose to interfere in my parents!
marriage over thirty years ago, so she should have anticipated that this day would come when I grew up. Moreover, it was she who unhesitatingly took over someone else's name in the first place, so what reason does she have now to oppose my proposal?"
Old Morris, after all, was Aaron's father, so it was quite normal for him to have conflicting emotions of love and hate when facing his father. However, when it came to mentioning Mrs. Maria, he quickly regained his usual calm and decisive demeanor
I felt relieved seeing Aaron like this. At least he let me know that in this family, apart from occasional emotional entanglements, he wouldn't suffer any losses in major matters
