Chapter 854 Not A Frivolous Woman
“Oh? Is that so?” Emrys chuckled lightly, then suddenly said, “But how come I heard that Ms. Morris isquite aloof in nature? Many young men from Cloudmist Academy have tried to court you, but you seemuninterested in entertaining them?”
How am I supposed to respond to that? I can’t say I’m only willing to associate with those who havegreat potential, can I? Ordinary young people simply didn’t catch my eye. This Tigger really has nosense of romance. Sylvia’s expression subtly shifted to one of melancholy.
Yet, an odd sensation inexplicably stirred within her. That knack for putting people in awkwardsituations was eerily similar to Emrys‘ style.
Secing Sylvia’s silence, Emrys didn’t ridicule her any further. Instead, he said in a playful tone, “Ms.Morris, it’s an honor to meet you. However, I’ve never been short of friends. What I lack are women.
Emrys‘ gaze was intensely fixed on Sylvia as he continued, “Ms. Morris, you understand what I’m tryingto say, don’t you?”
As he spoke, he surprisingly reached out, gently grasping Sylvia’s snow–white chin.
“Mr. Griffins, please show some respect!” After a brief struggle, Sylvia managed to break free fromEmrys‘ grasp.
“Respect?” Emrys suddenly let out a scoff, saying, “Sylvia, isn’t the real reason you came to see metoday just to curry favor with me? If that’s the case, why don’t we cut to the chase and get straight tothe point?”
As he spoke, he steadily advanced toward Sylvia, his approach exerting an overwhelming pressure onher.
Sylvia was instantly filled with a mix of embarrassment and anger. “Mr. Griffins,” she said. “you mayrefuse to be my friend, but you have no right to insult me like this. I, Sylvia, am not the person youimagine me to be!”
Influenced by Ameera, she indeed exhibited a desire to befriend those who were strong and had greatpotential in terms of character.
However, being friendly didn’t necessarily mean pandering.
Just as it had been back at Crimson Sun Sect, Ameera had instructed her to seduce Emrys. However, the very notion of “seduction” was something that Sylvia found deeply
unsettling.
Back then, she was willing to stay in Crimson Sun Sect to search for Emrys. Her intention was toapologize to Emrys and, perhaps, become friends. If things could progress further, naturally, that wouldbe the best.
If things couldn’t progress further, then consider it as having made a new friend, which was alsoacceptable.
Even that day’s visit to meet Sword King’s inheritor was part of it. Ameera had instructed Sylvia to puton a good show, striving to win the heir’s favor. Ameera’s words implied Sylvia should vic for favorthrough flattery.
However, Sylvia’s pride simply wouldn’t allow her to act in such a manner.
Sylvia, after all, was akin to a goddess at Cloudmist Academy. For those with great potential, she couldset aside her reserve and take the initiative to show goodwill, expressing her desire to make friends.
However, That gesture of goodwill was not to be mistaken for flattery.
Thus, when Emrys uttered those words, it was then that Sylvia was driven to a fit of embarrassed fury.
Sylvia’s reaction was within Emrys‘ expectations, but he wouldn’t back down so easily. He continued tostride toward Sylvia, displaying an attitude of relentless determination.
“Ms. Morris, you said you’re not the person I imagined you to be. But as you can see, I, Tigger, amnothing more than a rogue. Even with Sword King’s inheritance, it doesn’t change my roguish nature. Ifyou’re willing, stay peacefully and don’t resist. If you’re not, I won’t force you. However, you mustunderstand that if you miss this opportunity, there will be no chance of seeing me again in the future,”said Emrys. Dare to play mind games with me? Just wait and see how I toy with you!
Under the guise of Tigger from Rabid Gang, Emrys brazenly exerted pressure on Sylvia. His actionswere incredibly audacious as he once again reached out toward her beautiful face.
A fierce struggle flashed through Sylvia’s eyes as the words Emrys had just spoken were undoubtedlytrampling on her self–esteem.
In the end, Sylvia did not let Emrys have his way. She spoke in a cold voice. “I apologize, Mr. Griffins.Although I am passionate about associating with those who have great potential, I am certainly not afrivolous woman. Excuse me!”
