Chapter 893 Suspicions

The elder responded, “It’s highly likely that what he said is true. At that time, I was tasked with holdingoff Silas. By the time I successfully drove him away and arrived. Mr. Warde and his team had alreadydealt with Tigger.”

“So, you didn’t actually witness Rodney killing Tigger, did you?” Caden asked.

The elder hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and replied, “No.”

After a moment of silence, Caden turned to Devon and suggested, “Mr. Jaillor, I think it would be bestto have a word with the elders from the Origin Sword Sect”

Devon was taken aback. “What’s wrong? Could this be a fake incident? Are you suspecting that Tiggeris still alive? Do you think that Rodney was bribed by Tigger?”

Caden’s eyes flickered as he said, “Bribery is out of the question. I merely suspect that Tigger wasactually captured alive by Rodney, with the intention of forcing him to reveal the secret technique.”

Upon hearing that, Devon also started having his doubts. He nodded and said, “I suppose that’spossible too.”

Having the ability to utilize the secret technique multiple times in a short period meant that one couldconsecutively enhance their own strength, elevating it by a minor cultivation stage. Describing thesecret technique as a supreme treasure would not be an exaggeration.

They started putting themselves in the other party’s shoes. Would we have so easily killed the otherman if we were to replace ourselves in the same situation? Wouldn’t we want to interrogate him harshly inorder to force him to reveal the secret technique?

Caden’s suspicions were not without reason.

His suspicion also stemmed from caring too much about his position as the leader of the Spirit SwordSect.

Actually, Rodney was the most senior member in the Spirit Sword Sect. Just like Caden, he was at themiddle–phase of the Golden Elixir Stage. Considering his experience and seniority, it was only fittingthat Rodney should assume the position of the sect leader.

Regrettably, Rodney’s comprehension of the sword energy was slightly inferior to that of Caden. Theformer was merely at the master level.

In the end, that slight advantage enabled Caden to ascend to the position of sect leader of the SpiritSword Sect

Therefore, Caden had a valid reason to suspect that Rodney intended to pressure Emrys into revealinghis secret technique, with the intention of learning and practicing it himself. In the event of aconfrontation, Caden would undoubtedly be at a disadvantage.

In order to safeguard his own position, it was only natural for Caden to be skeptical.

Hence, Devon found his assumption logical and summoned several elders of the Origin Sword Sect, who had participated in the pursuit and assassination mission, one by one.

The answer he received from everyone was that they each personally witnessed Rodney unleash theGhost Sword Technique Twelfth Move on Tigger, destroying him into pieces, leaving behind only half ofhis mask.

Given that everyone was singing the same tune, even if Caden harbored immense doubts, he had nochoice but to dismiss his suspicions.

Surely, they couldn’t all have been lying to cover for Rodney, could they? No, no way. something thisoutrageous really have happened?

Could

“Haha, it seems your suspicions were unwarranted, Mr. Salazar. Perhaps Tigger was strugglingviolently at that time, leaving Mr. Warde with no choice but to strike him dead. You heard it just now.Tigger’s abilities were mysteriously powerful. He managed to kill two individuals who were at the early–phase of the Golden Elixir Stage. Capturing him alive won’t be as easy as we thought.”

“Let’s hope so!”

Caden sighed. He could not quite put his finger on it, but he was constantly plagued by a sense ofunease.

Since the beginning, Tigger had been acting strangely. Despite having only reached the EnergyCultivation Stage, he somehow acquired the Sword King’s inheritance. Furthermore, he swiftlyprogressed to break through the Foundation Stage in no time.

That was not even the most shocking part. What was truly astounding was that shortly after advancingto the Foundation Stage, he succeeded in defeating Killian, whose combat prowess rivaled those of theGolden Elixir Stage. And now, Tigger had even slain two elders of the sword sect. Who in their rightmind would believe this?

Caden had a vague sense that he might have provoked someone he should not have. However, giventhe circumstances, there was little he could do. All he could hope for was

that his concerns were baseless, like groundless fears.

With a hearty laugh, Devon casually remarked, “Well, if Ruben places such high regard on that inheritorof the Sword King, shouldn’t we send over this half–mask as a token of our condolences?”

Meanwhile, at the Soul Sword Sect, Silas expressed his guilt to Ruben, saying, “Mr. Ruben, I havefailed in my duties. I was unable to protect the Sword King’s inheritor.”
