Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 16
After a few days of recuperation and medical treatments, I began feeling better. It was all thanks to Asher who stayed by my side and made sure I took the medications when due and all the ointment were applied on the right places and at the right time.
I sighed, sitting up on the bed, my mind travelling back to the Alpha's statement.
I could not bring myself to believe my parents actually killed a member of their pack and ran away to the human world instead of owning up to their wrong doings.
I chided myself softly, I could not come to conclusions without getting the full story. Afterall they were my parents and they must surely have an explanation. There were loopholes and I was bent on replaceing out what truly happened between the pack and my parents that termed me as an abomination.
The only way to get the answers I need were my parents. They would probably not lie to me anymore and tell me the whole truth, then we would get a way to sort all these out.
But I doubt the boys would allow me to return back to the human realm. They might even use my recuperation as a big excuse to keep me hell-bound here.
The grumbling of my stomach brings me back to reality.
I haven't eaten anything solid for days. I slipped into my crocs, and walked out of the room I stayed in. Walking down the stairs toward the sitting room, an enticing aroma drew me like a spell.
Damn! Asher never told me they hired a chef to prepare breakfast. The salivating scent of bacon and scrambled egg filled my nose as I stepped into the kitchen.
I was left in bewilderment as I stared at the supposed 'cook. There was no chef, or an expert cook, it was Levi! I gagged at the sight of his hands moved here and there, cutting and chopping vegetables. I was awestruck. Levi could be full of surprises. Well, yeah, full of surprises.
My mind runs back to our last meeting and my throat suddenly goes dry, choking on my breath. Heat hits my core and my heart races. Levi turns and finally acknowledges my presence with hard eyes.
Holding my breath, I wait for the worst, or a snide remark or even a morning greeting. But all I get is the cold treatment. He eyes me warily, his mind probably running through our last meeting. He then casts me a last irritated glance and totally ignores my existence like I wasn't standing there, and continues cooking with no care in the world.
Anger burns deep in my chest, threatening to break free. Embarrassment too. The way he stared at me like I was as irrelevant as a house fly. Asher and Quincy who would never hurt me always apologize on a every little thing that happens, but Levi? No. A self- conceited beast.
I was stupid to expect any less from him.
I fist my hands and storm out of the kitchen through the small hallway, leading straight to the sitting room. I am more surprised to see Asher and Quincy already sitting, talking in hushed tones.
I cough and they both look up, casting me charming smiles and I feel a wave of shyness wash over me for holding the intense attention of these two incredibly sexy men. Perhaps I am a lucky girl after all. To hell with Levi. "Morning, sunshine." Asher coos as I get to the table.
It was a large table which was covered with a flowered linen decoration, adorned with several fancy cups and mugs. The plates on the table had some content in them. I didn't know what they held because they were covered.
A hand poking my sides brought me back to reality. The hand increased its pace, poking and tickling my sides and I busted out into fits of laughter. I glanced over at Quincy. He kept torturing me.
"S-stop." I managed to say between laughs.
"Not when your laughter is that adorable." He winked.
"Quincy, that's enough. Save the rest for later." Asher eyed the both of us, and I blushed deeply.
"Oh, Amery, you could have said that. I'll meet you later and we would finish this up." He poked one last time and this time, his hazel twinkled in mischief. It makes me blush harder.
A new presence cut my words in my throat. His strong arms settling and arranging the plates, dishing out food content to Asher and Quincy. My stomach grumbled at the salivating and tempting sight of the food.
I waited patiently to be served but nothing came. Levi served just Asher and Quincy, taking his portion and sat down, munching quietly as we all stared at him, dumbfounded.
The grumbling of my stomach and the frustration I felt were no good pills for a perfect morning. Irritation crept through me like a bile in my throat.
"Why did you do that?" I asked, my eyes glaring at him.
"Do what?" He asked indifferently, regarding me for a second before returning back to his food.
"What grown man is this petty? Wow. You know what you did." I stated with a scowl.
It was high time I let him he can't always make me feel like trash and continue his life.
He gave no response and kept munching quietly. I looked at Asher and Quincy helplessly, waiting for them to jump in my defense.
"Levi..." Asher started.
"Just don't." Levi cut him off.
"You are such a selfish brat." I bit out, my eyes never leaving his muscular form. "I'm such bad news and god forbid I eat at your table. Isn't that right?" I scoff now. "That's rich coming from the self-righteous monster." "Don't you dare use that tone on me." His head snapped up, jaws clenched tight.
"What if I do? I mean, I can't keep up with this. Your irritating attitude is getting on my nerves."
"Oh, is that so, princess?" Levi asked, obviously irritated by my rant. "Very well then, you're welcome to leave. This isn't your home. You're an abomination and I don't know for my brothers, but I'm under no obligation to serve you. Go drown or something." I felt that cut through my heart, piercing and shattering every hope of starting afresh with them.
"Amery, that's fine. Have mine instead. You are just recovering. Don't stress yourself on matters like this." Asher assured me, giving Levi a filthy glance, which spelt no good and right now, I am not going to keep anyone calm. He deserves whatever hate his brothers show toward him.
I collected Asher's plate with a smile, urging back my appetite as I dug in immediately. A spoon in my mouth and I felt like taking everything in at once. It tasted so damn good, but I had to restrain myself from moaning in delight. He doesn't deserve my compliments. Instead, I did the opposite.
"As expected; tasteless, horrible, and disgusting. Just like the person who prepared it." I mused loudly, feigning a disapproving frown.
Asher gave a knowing smile, while Quincy laughed loudly and I smirked. Looking intently at Levi, his face was priceless.
"The f**k does that mean? Your worthless taste buds wouldn't know good food even if it's shoved down your throat."
Hmm, the best way to rile him up was by insulting his meals? The prick was sensitive about his cooking.
"Perhaps I should I spell it out to you." I smirked further, leaning too close. Too close for comfort. "Your dish tastes so f*****g bland and I can't even stand another bite."
Obviously, I enjoyed the meal and I was surely bloated, but Levi's face made me want to push the taunt further.
"You annoying brat." Levi sneers, slamming his hands down on the table, the ceramics making clattering sounds.
"I won't stay here and watch you two argue like a married couple. Go kill yourselves or f**k each other." Quincy said out of the blues, and my eyes nearly popped right out their socket.
My cheeks went red as flashes of the night before with Levi filled my mind. I felt the familiar heat pull up between my legs as my body itches for the familiar expert hands of the gray-eyed wolf. His eyes found mine and they seemed to mirror the lust inspired in me. I was suddenly breathless.
"Cut some slacks already. What then should happen to Levi's girlfriend? Toss her aside?" Asher glared, his obvious discomfort at Quincy's words was quite visible.
What? What girlfriend?
My jaw dropped.
"Oh, seems our little missy here doesn't know her 'lover' has a mistress." Quincy chuckled and my eyes widened in realization.
All hopes of budding attraction I felt for Levi washed away, and I was glad it did.
"Levi..." I called softly and he looked up, his indifferent gray eyes flashed, casting a frustrated gaze at his brothers before finally landing on me.
"Yes, Amery." He paused. "I have a lovely girlfriend."
