I watched as Aston remained silent, his expression untradabile.

Mata tried feeding him again

“Say Ahhh, she said sweetly like they didn’t just have the world’s most st***id argument. It would not kill her to apologise seeing as she was clearly at fault. Or was she? Aston was that one that was being a jerk and being nice to a maid when he was on a picnic with his girlfriend but the maid was me so it was hard to point lingers

Okay, maybe Aston was wrong but they ought to try to make a middle ground or something. At least be amicable while in public. People were stealing glances at them and I was embarrassed for them if they weren’t embarrassed for themselves. I would try to move out of the frame a little so people would not know that I was with them but I didn’t want Mara to transfer whatever aggression was boiling currently inside of her now on the.

“I’m not hungry.” Aston said, rejecting her food and in that moment, I knew that if I was Mara, I would be loosing all my patience and stuffing sand down his face so bad. I would get up and be on my way back to the palace without him in a

heartbeat.

Mara cupped his face, her eyes wide with concern. “Have I done something wrong? Have I offended you in any way for you to treat me like this. It’s a picnic and we’re here to have fun but you have barely even looked at me since we got here.” She whined but Aston still didn’t spare her a glance. It was like his eyes were surgically glued to his phone.

“Could you get off my lap please,’it’s a bit uncomfortable.” He said and I coul e the look on Mara’s face. She looked like she was about to blow up.

Nothing was more frustrating than his polite tone. It would look arrational to get mad if he spoke so politely.

Mara got

got off his lap, doing her best not to scream.

“You won’t take food from me and now sitting on your lap is uncomfortable? Can you not tell me what I did wrong? It can’t be that hard to say, can it?”

“Do not try to make a big deal out of this and blow it out of proportion. The reason I’m asking you to get off my lap is because I’m actually uncomfortable and I’m not hungry. I’ll grab the food when I’m hungry. It’s right in front of me. Let us maintain peace, okay?”

It was hard not to feel bad for Mara at this point. I had no idea this was how their relationship truly looked like behind closed doors. No wonder Mara was so insecure. He was doing nothing to show that he loved her and it was frustrating to watch really. The fact that he was treating the woman he chose over me in such a way was confusing.

What was even more confusing was how such a heartless man could tend to every of my needs, spoken and unspoken, the moment we were on the bed with our clothes off.

I felt so f**g guilty staying next to both of them as they argued. It felt like I was the cause of their argument but I wasn’t going to give myself that much credit. I wasn’t capable of influencing Aston’s decisions. Never was, never would be in the

foreseeable future.

As if wanting to confirm by thoughts, Mara spoke.

She asked if it was because of me he was acting so stuck up and Aston’s answer confirmed my thoughts. “Stop being delusional. I’m not acting in any way that’s beyond normal and it’s certainly not because of a maid. How little do you think of me?”

Mara’s face fell, and she pouted, clearly unhappy with Aston’s response and his actions in general but there wasn’t much she could do about it because Aston was back to staring at his phone again and fiddling with it. He would even giggle as if Mara was invincible and as much as it pleased me to watch Mara suffer, it pained me to see Aston act like such a jerk. The least he

could do was pretend to be interested in what she had to say at least until the end of the picnic she excitedly planned for him.

Chapter 62

Mara might act like a big as bully most of the time but it was clear to even a blind man as the light of day that she was interested in Asion and it Aston could not see that and respect it then there was something clearly wrong with him.

Mara glaird at me as she took her seat again, her eyes blazing with anger that I could almost relate to.

I watched as she ate a bit of the snacks and tried engaging Aston in conversation, but he was distracted by his phone again

She stared at the ocean like she had given up on trying to talk to him but she spoke yet again, she was truly relentless. I gave

her that

“Remember that time when-She started but Aston cut her off with laughter. He was staring at something on his phone and he burst out laughing. It was so heart-warming to see him laugh but

It seemed like it was the last straw for Mara, She finally explode, an outburst that in my opinion was delayed.

“What the hell is so wrong with trying to do something nice with you anyway?! Can I not have fun with you? Is that so wrong? Every time I try to do something nice, you make me feel like a fool, Why do you treat me this way? Why do you treat me like I don’t matter because we both know that I do. Ever since we got here, you’ve been on your phone since you got here and every time I try to get you to talk to me, you act like I’m invisible.” She half yelled trying to keep her voice in check so she wouldn’t draw too much attention to herself.

I waited to hear what Aston would have to say for himself but he simply told her not to start another argument, and when she persisted, he got up and said he’d be in the car. His words, were simple, short and cold.

e car.

Mara protested, saying the date wasn’t over, but Aston firmly stated it was. He didn’t even look at her as he walked away. leaving Mara seething with anger. As I watched him leave, Aston glanced back at me for a moment before heading to the Our eyes met, and I felt a spark of understanding and anger at the same time. He knew Mara was being unreasonable, and he was tired of her drama. Mara was a butter pill to swallow but so was he.

Mara turned to look at me with spite in her eyes.

She accused me of being the reason the date got ruined. She pointed a finger at me, her voice shrill.

“If you hadn’t been here, Aston would be paying attention to me I calmly asked her why she brought me along in the first place. Mara’s face twisted in anger, and she slapped me, telling me not to ask dumb questions. I felt a surge of anger, but I knew I couldn’t retaliate. Mara was Aston’s girlfriend, and I was just a slave. I was at her mercy, and she knew it.

Mara ordered me to take the rest of the snacks to the back of the car. When I returned, the blanket was gone, floating in the

Ocean

“Go get it and stop standing there like f**g fool.” She screamed at the top of her voice but I wasn’t ready to go into the water, I wouldn’t risk my life for a mere blanket.

“It’s just a blanket.” I informed her and she raised her hand to slap me again and I was quick to dodge it angering her even more.

I told her I couldn’t swim, but Mara didn’t care. She threatened me, saying if I didn’t go fetch the blanket, I would greatly regret it. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I hesitated, knowing I had no choice but to obey. Mara was cruel and heartless. and I was at her f**g mercy.

I slowly made my way to the ocean, my heart heavy with dread. The water was cold and unforgiving, and I knew I couldn’t swim. But I also knew I had no choice. Mara would make my life even more miserable if I didn’t comply. I took a deep breath and waded into the water, my eyes fixed on the blanket floating away.

I was doing my best to understand her. She just had the worst dare of her life and she needed someone to let out all the anger on, I also kind of did not have a choice. I was obliged to obey the f*g b****h.
