Claimed By The Rogue Alpha Chapter 26
==Matteo==
I looked at the door, contemplating whether or not I should go on and knock. Had anyone told me I would be this indecisive about something, I would sure had ignored them. But here I was. In front of the door, unsure of what to do.
I made to retreat and go. But I was hooked. As much as I had tried to, I couldn't. But the kiss didn't mean anything. Or did it? Did it? I sighed. Useless. It was of no use.
I turned to leave, but the door opened. I stopped. Olivia stood by the threshold, the shock in her eyes was unmistaken. My eyes happened upon the nightdress she had on. It wasn't in anyway provocative, but it had an effect on me. In some freaking way. Her hair was plaited into a low ponytail, hanging beside her neck. My gaze lingered around her neck for sometime, taking in its sleek appearance
"What can I do for you, Mr. Matteo?" she said.
I quickly looked at her. Her pretty face. She had this deadpanned expression in her eyes, but the funny thing was that they looked they were beautiful. A mix of green and golden.
"..." I didn't even know what I wanted to say. Why was I here in the first place? Her right brow shot up. "I'd like to speak to you."
She was about to speak, but I cut her off. "In private. Please."
She eyed me before letting me in. That scent hit me instantly. It filled my nose. I roamed my eyes about, wanting to know where exactly it was coming from.
"I'm all ears." She spoke, bringing me to the present.
Her arms were crossed around her chest. A definitive pose.
"Get ready. You'll start working tomorrow. Your post is the garden."
She didn't blink. Then, went ahead to shrug. "Okay."
Her response bit me. I felt a kick in my stomach. "Your job description is watching the bushes and at watering the plants."
"Okay"
Right there, I felt like I fool. She want buying it. Nah, she'd refused to be sold. I stood, getting frustrated with my inability to penetrate into her.
"Would that be all, Mr. Matteo?"
Something flashed before my eyes. I knew it.
"No," I said.
She sighed. "I'm all ears."
I drew closer. One step at a time and buried my face into hers.
