Claimed By The Rogue Alpha Chapter 30
==Matteo==
It was the most ugly thing I'd ever seen. Face scrunched and with fangs hanging menacingly. It roared and I shut my eyes, together with my nose.. Hoping that not a drop of spittle got to me.
I opened my eyes again, just in time for him to swing a fist towards me. I was quick. I diverted the blow, and grabbed his hands. He fought to wriggle free, but it was useless. I twisted his arm, making him growl. Then, I kicked him off me. I rose, fury blinding me. Who the hell was he? Then, he turned back towards me. His eyes yellow like ember. He barked. Opening up his fist and exposing his claws.
In that moment, I roared. My vision changing. He charged at me, but I was swifter. I slashed his face with my claws. He fell to the ground, groaning. I walked over to him.
I was ready for another face off, but to my surprise, he laid still on the floor. His eyes wide with...shock?
Slowly, he morphed back to his actual self, and to the heavens, I wasn't prepared for whom I was going to see.
"Jimmy?" I said, and regretted it instantly.
He took a step back. His face pale. His eyes roamed around my form. Then, he took to his heels.

Stepping out from the shower, I wrapped a towel around me. I stepped into my flip flops and got into the room. I sat down by the vanity and took a look at my face. My hair had regained it shine and length and my face was clear. Well, except for the tiny zit on my chin. I sighed. What a thing to be woman?
I reached for the lotion on the table, squirting it on my palm. I rubbed it generously on my body. The smell was intoxicating. It filled my nostrils with heavenly scent. I was in love. After that, I settled for my face. Taking my time to pamper it. I rubbed in some facial crème before applying my sun screen. After that, I went for some light powder and a gloss on my lips.
Wasn't it funny? A slave was getting all dolled up. It was crazy. I'd never understand Matteo. What exactly did he want from me? If he was so mad at Pete as he claimed to be, he shouldn't offer me the luxury I was enjoying.
I sighed as I began applying conditioner in my hair. Matteo...there was something off about him. Yes, having a house full of some weird looking and robotic servants was an issue of concern, but something else felt iffy. I couldn't place a name om it. Like...what about his parents? Were they still alive?
I worked my hands on my scalp, letting the products seep in.
If his parents were alive, I was sure he wouldn't be doing what he was doing. Or was it? Could it be that they were as unbelievable as Matteo?
I sighed again, combing my hair back. So many questions. There were just too many of them. And I didn't know if I could get answers.
Done combing my hair, I tied it down to a high ponytail and changed into a jumper. Using a pullover to keep myself warm. I didn't have anything to do, as Matteo had blatantly refused to assign any work to me. The last thing I was going to do was sit in this room and let boredom murder me. I'd scan the mansion. I'd done that with the outdoors. Now was the time to assess the interiors.
I left the room, stepping into the long narrow hallway. I looked at my left and right, contemplating on which to follow. I decided to go with the left. I walked down the hallway and met a junction. A T Junction. I followed the right this time. My heart heaving with excitement.
I used to go on treasure hunt with my mum and...Pete. I swallowed as that thought came. Mum and Pete. Life with them was utopic. I couldn't have wished for a better family. I blinked the tears that formed in my eyes away. I had to stop dwelling in the past and concentrate on the present. I sighed. It was bad, but it got to be done. I continued with my walk, keeping a straight face. My chin jutted forward.
I noticed how the walls had gone from looking drab in brown and princely in the Elizabethan style. Hmm, no longer with the rococo, huh. I wondered if some treasure was housed close by, given the change in appearance. It couldn't be far from being a possibly. Just then, I spotted a door. The one about six feet away. It was ajar.
I padded towards it and peeped. The library. I couldn't believe it. I'd found my way to the library. Gosh, how hard I'd tried to come here, but to no avail. Now, I'd happened upon it. This was the perfect gift of the day. I wouldn't have to worry about boredom and lack of activity. The books in there could keep me company for a lifetime.
I looked behind me to check if anyone was following. No one. Perfect.
I stepped in, my feet grazing across the woolly rug. I craned my neck in all directions, amazed at what I was seeing. Books of all kind hung in the shelves. This place was massive. I hadn't seen anything like it.
I walked further in and went for a particular shelf. Sports...
Not my thing, but a little reading wouldn't hurt. I reached for a book whose cover drew me. There was just something with lavender that captured my interest. I so much loved the colour.
"Why are you here?"
I jolted and the book fell in the process. F**k, why does he always do that?
I crouched to pick the book and when I stood up to look at him, I wasn't prepared to see the scowl on his face. But no, I wasn't going to be scared easily.
"To read."
His frown deepened, making me wonder what he was mad about.
"Are you daft? How many times do I have to tell you to remain in your room. Never to step an inch away from it."
His words pierced me, especially him calling me daft. I almost spoke, but he raised his hand.
"Get out," he spat.
I stood, shocked, not knowing where I had gone wrong.
"Now!"
I flinched. Filled with embarrassment, I tossed the book away, and made to rush out of the library. I wouldn't him to see me cry. However, he grabbed my arm. And unwittingly, I turned to him. At that instant, a tear dropped from my right eye. I felt like smacking myself.
"Pick that up."
I yanked my arm from his grip, stomped to where the book lay and shove it back to the shelf. I didn't stop to look at him, but instead, ran out of the library.
