Claimed By The Rogue Alpha Chapter 89

Later that night... ==Matteo==

Darkness had covered everywhere now. Night had set in. I could hear the irritating sound of crickets and the breeze. F*****g nature.

I laid on my makeshift bed-which was my perpetual position now-and stared straight ahead. I waited for sleep to take me.

One of my men rose from his bed and walked out of the room, probably to take a piss. I didn't care. Moments later, he dashed back inside, eyes wide open.

But still, that didn't move me. His words, however, shook my up. "We're surrounded."

At first, it didn't make sense, but then he repeated himself. "Sir, we're surrounded. There're people around the precinct."

I rose from the bed. Surrounded? Bu whom? Whispers broke and I glared at my men. "Shut up!" And there was dead silence.

"Philemon," I called the guard that'd come with the news. "What did you see?"

"Wolves. White wolves. They're hiding in this bushes and possibly armed as well."

I shut my eyes, trying to process the information. White wolves! How on earth had they gotten here? I'd been as discreet as possible. How on earth?

No, this wasn't the time to cuss. I had to be proactive. I went on to calm my men. We wouldn't charge. As per my principles, we would stay here and lay in wait. It was a better tactical approach. And so, we were hunched on the ground, waiting for them.

The door of our shack was forced open.. Nothing less than thirty wolves trooped in. I charged, ready for battle. I was going to fight till my last breath, not sparing any soul. I did just that.

The assholes came with weapons. So, my men and I had to be extra careful. I worked skillfully, navigating through making sure I didn't get stabbed with their knives. As I fought, someone stabbed my back. Initially, I didn't give it attention, but then it growled and I caught what it said. Updated by Narugi.com, visit for more free novels.

"Face me, you murderer." The voice was hella familiar. Curious and ready to know who it was, I dealt one last blow to the guy in front of me before. It was a white wolf, and from the look of things it was....female?

Yes, I could see how relatively smaller it was. F**k. I ignored her. I didn't usually face female wolves, but then she dashed on me, forcing me to the ground.

Before I could say anything else, she delivered a blow to my face. I winced. The pain was ephemeral. Having gained composure, I grabbed her hands and with all my might, rolled her to the floor. I raised my hand to smack her across the face, but then something hit me. Her scent. The smell of frangipani. I stopped. Olivia?

No way. No, there was no way. She cut off my thoughts and kneaded my stomach. I fell away from her, stumbling backwards.

She stood from the ground and began dashing out of the room. Wait! I chased after her.

I came outside which was lit up by the half moon, and spotted her dashing deeper into the woods. I followed her. Growling. After some time, she stopped abruptly and I did. I morphed back to my human firm. "Olivia?" I said, approaching. She halted my steps, by growling.

"Olivia. Is...is that you?"

Roaring, she dashed on me and knocked me to the ground. She punched me. She tried sending another blow, but I held her. "Olivia."

She growled again and attempted tearing her hand off my grip. Unable to stay put, she kicked me in the stomach. And then, mounted on top of me, gripping my neck.

A litany of emotions coursed through me. Bewilderment, relief, fear...and a host of others. Like how the f**k is she a wolf?

"Why are you doing this? Why!"

She didn't respond but kept at what she was doing. Her anger pure. I wasn't going to fight her. I couldn't. Her once hazel eyes were cold white, blank with no emotions. Who did this too you?

"Shut up!" She spat out and pounded me on the nose. I groaned. "You f*****g, stupid, bastard!" Each word was followed by a punch.

Just when I sensed she was about to bite me, a shrill erupted.

"Olivia, stop!" Olivia's grip on me lessened. With a deep scowl on her face, she turned. I followed her, and there about ten feet across was a lady. From how fast her chest heaved, it felt like she'd run a marathon. "Stop. Don't hurt him." She was a human. Yes, I could sniff her. "Lyons did it. He is the killer."

Olivia didn't react, but morphed into her normal self. As if I hadn't widened my eyes enough, I gaped. The fact that Olivia was a wolf sat like bile on my tongue.

"What the f**k, Leah? What the f**k are yiu talking about?"

"Lyons..." She swallowed. "Lyons." And began weeping. "Lyons is responsible, Olivia. He killed your father. He killed those guys, all of them. He is responsible." Olivia was silent. Possibly as shocked as I was.

Leah slumped to the ground. Sniffing. "Matteo did nothing. He's done nothing. Lyons was responsible all along."

Olivia wouldn't move. She wouldn't say anything. She was catatonic, the same way she'd been the night she was bitten.

Then from nowhere, a white wolf similar to Olivia's, leapt across me and charged for Leah, knocking her to the ground.

Earlier...

Leah couldn't believe her ears. She couldn't not for the life of her do so. She'd dropped by at her apartment when the landlord summoned, saying that the police had come looking for her. Curious, she'd gone to the police station and alas, Office Grant had some news for her.

Bad news for her and good news for Olivia. Good news in that Olivia was going to have real closure. The person behind her father's death had been identified through DNA. The bad news, however, was that Lyons was the killer. The guy who was supposed to be Leah's baby daddy. Leah had vehemently refused to accept such revelation, but the truth was remained so. She could remember earlier when Officer Grant suggested she took one of his DNA, which was a hair strand. They had used that piece to match not only the hairs found on Pete's body but on the two other guys that had been found. Lyons was a murderer. A serial murderer.

Leah had broken down. She had screamed. Eventually, she'd come to terms with the truth.

Matteo's life was in danger as Lyons, Olivia and Lyons' men had set out to the far west to ambush Matteo. Olivia had told Leah everything, and she(Leah) related that information to the police.

As she journeyed her way to Matteo's hideout, alongside the police, she was lost in thought.

The police parked their car and set out to surround the place. They were armed with silver bullet guns.

They urged Leah to remain in the car, as there likely was going to be a shootout. However, she couldn't stay put. Since there was just one officer in the driver side who even happened to ne fast asleep, Leah slipped out. Surreptitiously, she followed the officers on their tail and she had been at this when she heard a growl and the name: Olivia.

To the present.

Leah looked in horror as the wolf stood atop her. No question on who that was. He clasped his hands around her neck and she coughed, wriggling and pleading for her life. The animal growled, shooting out spit to her face.

Leah was crippled with fear. However, she decided that before the beast killed her, she would tell him what he needed to know. "Lyons..." She could hardly speak, given how compressed her throat had become. However, she would forge on.

"I'm carrying your child." Initially, the words didn't have any effect, but she spoke again. "I'm pregnant with your child."

His grip on her loosened as he morphed back to his human self. He raised his brows, his surprise pure. However, almost like a flash of lightning, the shocked expression vanished and was replaced by a look of contempt.

"You, whore. You think that will move me?" he spat and resumed choking her.

Leah was prepared to die. She had spread her arms wide, ready to accept death. But something else happened. Lyons was yanked off her by Matteo and was knocked to the ground. Roaring, Matteo sank his teeth on Lyons neck, earning a wail from him. Olivia ran to Leah's side, and pulled her close to her chest.

Gradually, Lyons' screams reduced to a gurgle. Red fresh blood blew out from his mouth. Then, he became silent.

Matteo rose from him, looking down at his motionless body. A wave of emotion s washed through Leah. The current so strong that she gripped on to Olivia and wailed. Matteo joined Olivia and stood at the other side. The circular movement of his palm on Leah's back was his on way of consoling her.

Gunshots could be heard from a distance as well as the yells of policemen.
