Savannah's POV

"Oh my god, I still can't believe you are here” Tanea hugged me tightly as she squealed. I laughedand hugged her back.

"I had to. I really can't miss such a big day"

"Sure enough. It's been so long since I met you. Besides, days here are too boring without you" shepouted

"Why?" I raised my eyebrows "doesn't my brother keep you company?"

"Don't talk about that man" Tanea rolled her eyes "these days he seems so busy that he hardlymakes any time for me. I am still in shock to see his suddenly changed behaviour"

"Wow, looks like Dev is changed huh”

"Exactly so" she nodded her head.

"Savannah"

I turned around and grinned "mom". I almost ran to her. I missed her so much that it brought tearsto my eyes.

"What happened sweety? You are crying?” Mom pulled back when she heard me sobbing.

I chuckled "nothing, I am just too happy”

She laughed, "silly girl. Since when did you start to become this emotional?" She patted myshoulder with a warm smile.

"Maybe after I started to live separately” I joked and mom laughed again.

"Let's go inside. Your dad is waiting for you. He was so excited when he heard you will be cominghere"

I nodded and we walked inside the pack house. After so many days it felt like a home again. Myfamily, my loved ones that I missed so terribly. I looked around the familiar decoration and my heartfelt content.

"You are here my princess" dad was sitting on the couch and got up immediately when he saw me."Dad" I smiled widely as I threw my arms around him

"I missed you so much darling" he kissed my temple.

"I missed you too dad" I hugged him tightly before releasing him.

"I am glad you are here"

I nodded and looked around "where's Dev? I haven't seen him since I arrived"

"Looking for me" a voice said from behind. I turned around and saw my brother standing there inhis glory.

"Dev" I smiled and ran towards him. He hoisted me up and twirled me around, making me giggle."How are you?" He asked once he put me down.

"I am good" he nodded then looked around "where's that mate of yours?"

"You are still against him?" I shook my head.

"I couldn't help. I don't trust that man" he frowned.

"Speaking of him, where is Hardwick?" Dad asked.

"Hmm...he went out a few days ago because of some urgent matter. He was so busy these days thatI couldn't even see him" I explained.

"Oh, so he is not here" Dev mumbled to himself.

I rolled my eyes "no, and he don't know that I am here"

"It's fine. Besides, Alpha's do have major responsibilities to take over and sometimes they couldn'tignore it no matter what" mom said as she walked towards me. "You must be tired from the journey.Go first and rest for a while. Besides the ceremony will start soon”

I nodded "okay"

"Let me walk you to your room" Tanea grabbed my bag and led me towards my room.

"I am glad you are here Sav. I feel lonely when Dev is busy with his work. Since dad decided to givethe pack responsibility to him, he became more busy” Tanea said as she placed the bag on the bed."Everything will be fine. Besides I am having the same problem you know. Hardwick seems so busywith his work that I couldn't even meet him for several days” I smiled at her.

"Are you happy Sav?" Suddenly Tanea asked.

I looked at her and pursed my lips. Sighing I nodded "it's not that I am not happy. But Dark Forest isstill like a mystery to me. Sometimes it felt like stranger to me”

"Sav, this kind of feeling ...it happens. Because I have experienced the same thing. You just needtime to relax yourself in the pack. And Hardwick is also there isn't it?" Tanea patted my hand.

I nodded "yeah. But there's so many things that made me confused and I couldn't decide what todo. It's hardin every way" I sighed.

"Problems are always like this. But you need to believe in yourself and your heart, you know. Andyou also need to believe in your mate. If there's something you can't understand then ask him freelyinstead of hiding it from him. I know he cares for you so I think it's better if you have good talk withhim"

I smiled at her "thanks for the suggestion”

"Now, get freshen up and take a good rest before the ceremony starts"

I nodded and watched her leaving. I sighed and unpacked my bag and pulled out a dress to getready. I left the pack in a hurry and only Luina knew where I was going. I don't know when Hardwickwill be back. I hope everything goes fine. Shaking my head I grabbed a towel and headed towardsthe bathroom to take a shower and relax my body from the tiredness of the journey.

Few hours later it was finally the time we all have been waiting for. I walked towards Tanea's roomand smiled when I saw her. There were two more girls with her who were helping her to get ready.Tanea was looking beautiful in her silk white A- line dress which was hugging her body showing herbeautiful curves. The two girls beside her really did well. From the makeup to her hair style.

"Wow, someone's looking so beautiful” I said as I walked in.

"You are flattering me" Tanea blushed.

"Hmm... Though everything seems beautiful but there's still something missing”

Tanea frowned "is there?" She looked at the mirror. Even the two girls beside her frowned.

"What's lacking? Oh my God, today is a big day and I can't really miss" Tanea gasped. I chuckled ather reaction.

"You are taking it in serious way" I shook my head and pulled out a box "here"

"What's this?" Tanea looked at the box then to me.

"Something that will make you complete"

"Yeah?" Tanea took the box and opened it. She gasped as she looked at the shining diamond.

It was a flower crown which was made from fine white diamond. The crown will match her dress andalso the ceremony.

"It's so beautiful” Tanea smiled "thanks Sav"

"Come on, wear it. Dev and others are already waiting for you"

She nodded and the girls helped her wear it. Once she was done we walked out the room. Outsidethe pack house everyone was already waiting for us. Dev was wearing white suit and looking sohandsome. This is the first time he was wearing something formal and I must say it looks good onhim. Once Tanea stood by his side, dad walked to the center.

"Thank you for attending this ceremony. As you know I have been ruling the pack for so many yearsand we together have faced many ups and downs. The role of Alpha is hard but I am glad that Icould live my life for my pack. But today on this special day I want to hand over the responsibility tomy son. It's time to rule the pack for the next generation. So hereby I announce The New Alpha ofthe Snow Moon Pack is My son Devak Lang and the new Luna will be Tanea Lang. I hope you all willsupport and love him like you did all these years" dad finished his speech. All the pack memberscheered loudly.

I smiled as I looked at the scene. Finally dad is retiring from the Alpha position and now Devak willbe taking everything. Tanea was complaining about Devak not giving her much time. Now he will bemore busy. Alphas and their works. I rolled my eyes. Only knows how to work and work. I flipped myhair over my shoulder and walked towards the mini bar set at the corner.

The bartender smiled at me "what would you like to have, Miss?"

"Is there any strong Gege?" I asked as I sat on the chair.

"You want to go for hard liquor?" He looked surprised. Of course he will be. Because I never drankalcoholic beverages before.

"What's there?" I asked instead of replying.

He smiled "you can try Absinthe I guess. It's highly alcoholic so let me add water to soften theeffect”

After a few seconds Gege placed the green liquor before me. I looked at my family who were busychatting then to the liquor again. Sigh, I am tired and my mind is not working properly. I guess astrong drink will work for me now or maybe it can also help me clear my mind. Biting my lips Igrabbed the glass and gulped down the liquid. My throat burnt as I swallowed the liquid.

"Ah...you drank it in one go?" Gege gasped "you should drink it slowly since you are trying it for thefirst time"

"I am fine" I waved my hand at him. Gosh my mind is dizzy. Is it the effect of Absinthe?

After drinking the first shot I couldn't think for more. So I walked away from the bar but my headwas still dizzy and I felt my body swaying as I walked. I tried to stabilize myself but because of thedrink I couldn't. My body swayed and I almost fell but suddenly a pair of arms held me before Icould land on the ground.

"Looks like my mate is a little drunk huh" a familiar smell filled my nose which made me sober. Is itreal? I tilted my head to look at the person. My gaze collided with the dominating brown orbs again.He is here? Oh my god. Is he really here? Or the alcohol point is so high that I am starting toimagine things?

"Hardwick?"

"So you still remember my name" his cold voice made my body chill.

But right now I really don't care about it. What I care about is that he is here. Right in front of me.My mate, my other half. I felt him pulled up and made me stand properly again. But he didn't let goyet secured my body by placing his arm around my waist.

"I thought you were angry but you are here drinking your heart out and getting drunk,” he said.

I frowned. “I am not drunk” I refused.

"Yeah, I can see that," he mocked.

I rolled my eyes. Even though this alcohol is starting to affect my mind, I am still sober and I canhear him clearly.

"It's my first time to drink you know so I don't know my alcohol limit"

Hardwick looked at me "what did you say? First time? Fuck" he cursed "woman you know it's yourfirst but you still went for a strong one that you don't even know you can handle or not? DamnSavannah"

I poked his chest "don't talk to me like that. It's all your fault"

"How come it became my fault?" He frowned.

I glared at him "if you just said whatever I wanted to know this kind of thing would not happen inthe first place but no. You always avoided my questions and tried every possible way to hide it fromme. But look at the current situation. What happened? The truth came out by itself. So it's all yourfault” I blurted out.

His face turned serious and his eyes darkened "fuck! What the hell did she say to you?"

"Go and ask her yourself" I turned my head to the other side.

He grabbed my jaw and made me look at him "I am asking you something. What the hell did thatbitch tell you?"

I looked at him "she said you had sex with her and you both have deep feelings for each other""Fuck that damn woman" Hardwick cursed again. He looked at me seriously "look, don't listen toher words. Do you understand what I am saying?” He shook my body.

"Why is that? Isn't it true?” I frowned.

"You think it is?" He raised his eyebrows.

"You-" I was about to say but suddenly mom appeared out of nowhere.

"Hardwick dear, you are here"

"Yes mom" he replied as he tugged me to him closely. "These days I was quite busy so I couldn'tcome earlier" he explained further.

"It's fine" mom waved her hand and laughed "Devak is succeeding his father today . It's such a bigday and how could it be complete without you two"

"I am glad I could join," Hardwick replied.

"Oh, Savannah, are you okay dear?" Mom asked. I looked at her and grinned.

"How come you are so drunk dear?” Mom gasped.

"I just had a glass of Absinthe I guess” I replied, still grinning at her.

"What?"

"Fuck"

Mom and Hardwick said it at the same time.

"l will take her to her room. I don't think she can withstand more in such state"

"Yes, please take care of her. After the dinner the ceremony will be over. I will send food in yourroom"

"Thank you mom" he thanked then looked at me "let's go darling"

Before I could say anything Hardwick scooped me up in bridal style.

"What-what are you doing?"

"Taking you back to your room”

"But the ceremony is not over. I have to attend it"

"You have attended a lot. Now it's time for you to take a rest"

“But-"

"No buts. You are taking rest and that's final"

I pursed my lips "what an arrogant man!”

Hardwick smirked "you haven't seen my arrogance darling "

I rolled my eyes but didn't say anything. I came alone with a heavy heart but I never expected thatHardwick would come after me. Though I am still feeling confused, I couldn't stop my heart beingflattered to have him so close to me again.

It's going to be a long night.
