Cold Hearted Mate -
Chapter 12
few minutes later, she returned with a tray full of food.
"Here's the food now open up." She said to Connor as she tried to feed him the soup.
He looked at her for a while before asking, "Are you really going to feed me and more importantly have you eaten?"
"No, I will eat later, now open your mouth, the soup is getting cold." She tried to feed him again but he just took the spoon and tried to feed her.
"As much as I like the idea of you feeding me, I am not eating if you haven't eaten so how about you feed me and I feed you that way, I can be twice as happy!"
"I can't believe my eyes are giving me a puppy dog face?" She asked Connor as he held the spoon up to feed her while giving her a frickin puppy face and she must say cute. Connor and Louve feed each other the soup and then the chopped fruits along with some orange juice.
"The Chef outdid himself this time, the soup was delicious, and don't you think it tasted homier and like comfort food unlike his usual restaurant type of food?" He asked. "The chef didn't prepare it." She answered as she moved to place the dirty dishes on the table.
"May must have prepared it, remind me to compliment it later." Connor said.
"Ah, actually... the thing is that I am the one who prepared it." She said as she looked down to cover her blush.
"Wow, I didn't know you are such a great cook! It was delicious my love, thank you, I appreciate it." Connor said as he brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"You are welcome." She replied.
"Please come lay with me in bed babes. I don't want you to catch a cold, I'll keep you warm." Connor said as he made space for her in bed.
It has been a while before she joined him in bed, as she was contemplating whether to ask about Veronica or not.
"Louve."
"Why did you call me that?" She asked.
"It's your name." He answered.
"But you never call me by my name."
Connor looked into her eyes and said, "We need to talk."
Louve thoughts were travelling a thousand miles an hour as she wondered what he wanted to talk about that was so serious. She just hopes he is not giving up on her for being so mean and hot tempered towards him or even worse. What if he wants to accept her rejection? "Louve I re..." Connor started saying but she couldn't finish his sentence.
She couldn't let him reject her and so she did what she had to do and ran out of the room a sobbing mess as she held her hands on her ears screaming.
"I can't do this." Over and over again, her tears kept on flowing.
Louve standing at the edge of the forest when Connor hugged her from behind and said, "What's wrong babe, why are you crying? Did I say something to offend you or did someone say something to upset you? Why are you running away from me?" "Connor please stop doing this to me, I don't want to hear you say it. You and I know that you want to reject me, so you can be with that bimbo of yours after all she is the one you love that's why you don't want me, so I accept your reje-"
Next thing she knew Connor was kissing the hell out of her and she wasn't complaining. He started kissing the mark on her neck and it is driving her crazy. She can't seem to stop her moans as he nibbles on her skin.
It took her a while to realise what was going on and she quickly pushed Connor away and jumped down so her legs were no longer wrapped around him.
"Connor please stop playing with my feelings, just let me go."
Connor wiped away her tears and looked deep into her eyes before saying, "Louve, babe please just let me talk okay. I wasn't going to reject you now was I going to accept your rejection. I love you and nothing is going to change that. I just wanted us to talk and get to know each other better so that I could open up to you. I don't love anyone else; I love you and only you. So please calm down and show me that beautiful smile."
He wiped away her tears one more time before carrying her towards the pack house. She tried to tell him that she could walk on her own, but he just said he wants to carry so when they got out their room, she made sure to give him some water and put him to bed. As she was lying on his chest that night, she felt the weakening of the seal she placed around the pack borders meaning that rogues were forming an attack against the pack. So she shot out of bed and broke down her walls so that Connor would mind link with her and be able to read her thoughts since he marked her.
She loved how Connor called the warriors instead of questioning her resulting in reaching the pack border just as the rogues broke the protective seal.
"I don't know if they really brave or very stupid for coming here while knowing the reputation Connor have." Harou said to her.
“།
I agree with you girl but with me here they are in deep trouble." Louve said to her wolf.
There were a lot of rogues, probably more than 25 and Connor had four warriors making six of them in total. Other warriors were surrounding the pack house along with the orphanage.
Three rogues attacked Connor and he was dodging their attacks as he broke the neck of one of them. She had taken down five rogues when she noticed a rogue biting the arm of one of them warriors and she quickly shifted to her light brown wolf and she flanged the rogue away from the warrior. Another rouge landed on her back and she slashed his face with her claws and chewed his neck instantly killing him.
She turned around and noticed the dead bodies of rogues that now surrounded Connor as he fought and she noticed how off his breathing was and remembered that he was still weak and so she jumped into his fight and she ripped the rogues neck with her claws. Connor looked at her with shock in his eyes as she slowly walked to the border and strengthened the seal that the rogues weakened with wolves' brains. After that she walked behind a tree and got dressed in an oversized shirt.
When she got back, she noticed Connor and the warriors who had all shifted to humans were now looking at her as if it was their first time seeing her. Get someone to clean this up and get rid of the bodies." She said to the group of men but they all didn't move an inch. They just stood there and looked at her like she had grown five heads." "I am going back to the pack house since you guys have decided to act so weird." She announced to them as left and as expected none of them did anything they just looked at her.
"Men are weird." Harou said. "Tell me about it, it's like seriously is it so shocking for a woman to kick some rogue a*s?"
"Now that you mention it, I get why they are shocked. I was crying and sobbing like a baby half an hour ago and now I just ruthlessly killed rogues." Louve said.
"What do you think the rogues were doing here?" Harou asked her.
"Someone must have sent them since rogues are pretty much afraid of Connor and don't dare trespass in his pack." Louve said.
"It was amusing to hear pack members asking me if the rogues hurt me or scared me in any way when they saw my body covered in blood. It was even more amusing when teenagers and warriors kept telling me that I shouldn't be afraid because they will make sure to protect me if it ever happens again."
Louve took a shower in their room, and wore his shirt before Connor entered the room, he stared at her, took a shower, sat down and stared at her some more.
Only god knows what's going on in his mind, she meant she could read his thoughts but maybe she won't like what she may replace.
"Look Connor if you are going to ask me something then hurry up and do it because I do not like it when you are not in bed considering that your hair is wet and you are still sick. I don't want to catch a cold." She told Connor as she got a dry towel.
He slowly came to bed and placed his head on her thighs so that she could dry his hair.
"Where did you learn to fight like that?" He asked her.
"Harou trained me." She simply replied.
