Chapter 71 Experience

Gareth talked to my mum, but what he had no clue about was that if he wouldn’t accept Alice, he was better to get his lawyer to get his will ready. My mum smiled at him, but I think I was the only one in there who knew what she hid behind that smile.

“I can’t see why you wouldn’t train a talented skater.” Mums said.

“Our aim is to make our skaters the best, and that can only work if we have time to train and guide each of them. A new skater has to have great attention, and we can’t let our top skaters down. The Olympic rames are starting soon, and we must have our full attention on the skaters who will compete in Beining. We have a lot

My mam looked at me. Actually, I could see what was in her head, Refusal was equivalent to a declaration of a war for her. And she always won.

“Okay, I completely understand. You aren’t the only coach. But let me tell you with Alice Lessard, you shouldn’t have had a problem at all.”

She said that with a hint of anger in her voice. She took her bag, then she stood up. I frowned, I didn’t know what she was doing, but I was su

the wouldn’t give

When I turned my head to look at them, seeing their faces, it all went clear. My y mum wanted them to beg for letting them train Alice. She looked at her watch,

Come on Gideon, we meet the other coach soon,”

*Mrs. Sullivan, wait, please. Don’t rush that much.” Elizabeth said, and she stood up, ready to run after my mum.

She turned around, clearly showing her disappointment

“Did you mean Alice Lessard, the Canadian figure skater?” Elizabeth asked in surprise.

“Will, she is a Sullivan now. She is my daughter–in–law. She missed a short time, but she wish to continue competing. Being the most recommended coach in California. I was going to pay a large sum of money for you to train her, but your attitude has changed my mind,

I turned away as I had to smile. My mum was incredible. She really knew how to get what she wanted.

*Please Mrs. Sullivan, forgive us. If you mean Alice Lessard, then that is different. I mean, I thought you were talking about an adult beginner, and I’m truly sorry. but many times they are just wasting our time,” Elizabeth nearly begged my mum.

Alice Lessard is one of the best figure skaters nowadays, and that would be an honour to train her.” Gareth told my mum with the same begging impression in his voice. He motioned us to sit back at the table

I honestly didn’t know if she really found another trainer who qualified as best, or she just wanted to turn the situation over, making them kneel for the job. I got the answer soon, as my mum sighed and sat back, pulling me with her too.

“Thank you, Ms. Sullivan.” Gareth nodded

“So we could train her immediately.” Elisabeth said.

“You said you were very busy

bury recently, and I don’t want other to train her. I want you two to make sure she’ll perform her best at the Olympic games.”

“That’s not a problem at all. We can promise that.” Elisabeth said. My mum nodded.

“Good. Actually, the only thing that I want t to talk to you about this time is the costs. You can discuss all the rest with my daughter–in–law and with her husband-

I smiled, while mum continued.

“You only need to make sure you will not disappoint them.”

“We’ll do our best” Canth said.

My mum nodded, but she looked at them like they knew she doest want to hear more about them. She just wanted to know about how much the training would cont. When Theard the prices, opened my eyes wide, but that was only out of surprise. I wanted Alice to be happy, and I didn’t mind paying for it

“How the h

I shook my head.

“Have you abrays got what you wanted?

“I have, darling. No one can fight me down.”

I laughed while I hugged her before she sat in her car. I helped her to get in.

“Give a kiss to Alice and take care of yourselves.”

I nodded while she smiled at me, put her sunglasses on, and drove away. I got into my car, too, and I drove to the club. After a long time passed, I checked the time, that made me frown. Sam should have called me to say he took Alice back home safely.

I took my phone, then I rang her. Hearing her voice made me feel at ease. I smiled when I hung up. I wondered if she took me seriously when I told her how she was supposed to wait for me. Just the thought made my precious part hard as stone. I looked up at the ceiling in pain.

“Stop it, Gideon.” I said that quietly to myself, and I tried to focus on the pile of paperwork that still waited for me, but footsteps held me back from continuing my job. I raised my head to look at the door, which opened shortly.

“Hi Gid.” Seth stepped in and greeted me. I looked at him and frowned.

“Hi Seth, what are you doi

are you doing here?”

“I’m having some surprise for you.”

He tossed an envelope onto my desk in front of me, then he sat down.

“Check it” He said. I opened it and there were a few pictures. First, I didn’t know what it was about, but I looked at him in surprise when I finally understood.

“Is that Charles

“I think so. He looks like that.”

“And what if you are wrong?”

“Well, I got some information from the neighbours, and that just made me sure more about we found him.”

“We should check that out, ther

He nodded.

“Are you ready?”

I looked at the pile o

of paperwork

“Leave that. We can do that later.” Seth told me. I nodded and stood up. We took his car, but first I took my gun from mine. He drove to the place, then we left the eat at a safe place, close to the building. We stopped at the house. It was a dodgy area, which we knew well

“What do you think? Seth asked. I looked around

“I don’t know. What if he’s got some friends here?”
