"Look, I don't know what your real relationship is with His Highness, but you can't be making mistakes like this when healing someone," Cillian said sharply, glaring at Fiona. His arms were crossed, his posture was tense, clearly frustrated.

Fiona stared at him, surprised by the sudden outburst. "I didn't make a mistake," she replied firmly, her voice calm. Until now, she couldn't quite understand why Cillian had just started to berate her in front of everyone. If he wanted to discuss something, wouldn't it be more professional for him to pull her aside? Instead, he actually chose to do it in front of the soldiers and the other healers! "I did exactly what was needed., Fiona said.

Cillian scoffed, shaking his head. "You used too much of the wolfsbane extract. That amount could have slowed the healing process, not speed it up. If you had waited for me, we could've discussed the dosage properly."

Fiona clenched her fists, her patience wearing thin. "I used the exact amount required. The wound was deeper than you realized, and the usual dose wouldn't have been enough. I know what I'm doing."

Cillian took a step closer, his eyes narrowing. "You're too reckless, Fiona. Just because you've got the Prince backing you doesn't mean you can cut corners. You're lucky that patient didn't get worse."

"Reckless? I saved that patient's life! If I had waited for you, they would have bled out. My method worked, and you know it." Fiona felt her anger rising but quickly pushed it down. She cannot lose her cool now. No. Not today. Cillian's jaw tightened."It's not just about whether it worked this time. It's about doing things by the book. You can't just make judgment calls without consulting your partner."

Fiona took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. This was only her second shift, and she was already having problems with Cillian. In fact, she didn't know where this animosity came from however, she had noticed it the moment she walked into the infirmary. Luckily for her, both of them had been busy since their shift started because of some accident on the training ground.

"Both of you should stop arguing. We need more hands here," Kariana's voice interrupted them. Cillian quickly snorted and turned away. Seeing this, Fiona sighed before she approached the nearest soldier who needed her help.

Fiona knelt beside the soldier lying on the cot, his body tense with pain. His arm was severely burned, the skin blistered and raw. The explosion on the training ground had clearly been worse than expected, and the new weapons they were testing seemed far more dangerous than anyone had anticipated. The stench of burnt flesh filled the room, mingling with the coppery scent of blood.

Without hesitation, Fiona placed her palm on his arm, letting her ability take over. Instantly, she felt it-the extent of the damage, the torn muscle beneath the burns, and the internal bleeding that hadn't yet been detected by the others. The soldier's rapid breathing told her he was in more pain than he was letting on.

"Hold still," she murmured to the soldier, her fingers lightly brushing over the worst of the burns. She knew exactly what was wrong, but had to work quickly to keep the injury from worsening.

Grabbing a jar of salve from the nearby table, she started applying it to the burns. The cooling agent would soothe the skin, but it wasn't enough. His body was trying to heal itself, but the damage was too extensive for natural werewolf healing to handle quickly. The internal injuries, in particular, were concerning.

Kariana rushed over with bandages, glancing down at the soldier's injuries. "Is it bad?" she asked.

"It's worse than it looks," Fiona replied, her voice steady. "He's got internal bleeding. We need to stop it before his condition worsens." She kept her voice low but urgent, knowing time was running out for this soldier. "Get me the silver-infused needle," she added, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Kariana hesitated for a split second, but then nodded and hurried off to get the needle.

"What are you doing?" Gillian snapped as he saw Fiona holding the silver-infused needle. His tone was sharp, his frustration evident as he marched over to her.

Fiona didn't flinch. She had dealt with enough in her life to be unshaken by Cillian's attitude. She kept her focus on the soldier, who was breathing heavily, his face tense with pain. "I'm stopping the internal bleeding. There's something lodged inside his body that's preventing the natural healing process. If we don't act fast, it'll get worse."

Cillian scoffed, folding his arms. "And how exactly do you know that? Do you think you're some kind of expert now? The balm should have started working by now. If he's not getting better, that's because you messed up."

Fiona's patience snapped. She stood up straight and met Cillian's glare head-on. "The balm should have worked. But it didn't, did it? That's because there's something inside his body that's stopping it-probably shrapnel from the explosion. The burn is just the surface injury. You're not seeing the bigger picture

Cillian rolled his eyes, shaking his head in disbelief. "And you figured this out just by looking at him? You're reckless, and now you're guessing."

Fiona took a deep breath. "I'm not guessing. Look at him." She pointed at the soldier, whose body was still tense. "The balm should've eased his pain by now, but he's still in agony. That means there's something inside. We don't have time for this, Cillian. If we don't act, he could die."

Cillian's lips pressed into a thin line. "You don't know what you're doing."

"I do!" Fiona snapped, her frustration boiling over. "I can feel it. There's something lodged inside him, and if we don't remove it now, he won't heal."

Before Cillian could respond, the soldier suddenly let out a low groan, his body jerking in pain. His eyes flew open, and he began to shout, his voice ragged with agony.

Cillian pushed Fiona aside roughly. "What did you do to him?" he barked, leaning over the soldier to examine him. "You've made it worse!"

Kariana quickly stepped forward, shaking her head. "She didn't do anything. She just applied the balm. This isn't her fault." Cillian ignored her, frantically checking the soldier's burns. But there was nothing visible on the surface that explained the sudden outburst of pain. His face darkened with confusion, unable to figure out what was wrong.

"Step aside, Cillian," Fiona said, her voice steady but commanding. "Let me handle it."

Cillian's eyes narrowed. "You think you can just fix this with your guesswork?"

Fiona clenched her jaw and took a step forward. "Then why don't we make a bet?" she said. Fiona was originally planning to wait it out, let her knowledge shine through. After all, this was only her second shift. However, she had no patience with people like Cillian. "If I succeed in fixing this, you'll apologize. Publicly. But if I fail, I'll leave this place for good."

Cillian's eyes widened in surprise. Even Kariana looked taken aback by Fiona's bold proposition. "You can't be serious" Cillian said, his voice tight with disbelief.

"I am. Now, do we have a deal?" Fiona's gaze

didn't waver.

Before either of them could say another word, the soldier let out a scream, his body convulsing as if something was tearing him apart from the inside. His agony was undeniable. Almost immediately, Fiona could see the panic in Cillian's eyes as he fumbled to figure out what was wrong.

Cillian hesitated, then stepped back, his face pale. "Fine," he muttered. "Do whatever you think you can. But if you fail- "I won't fail," Fiona cut him off, moving quickly back to the soldier's side.
