Fiona stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection. She wore a simple white dress that fell just below her knees, the soft fabric flowing lightly around her. It wasn't extravagant, but it was perfect. The dress hugged her figure in a way that felt both comfortable and elegant, with delicate straps resting on her shoulders and a modest neckline that gave her a graceful appearance. Her hair was loosely curled, and she had chosen to keep her makeup minimal-just enough to bring out her natural features. She felt like herself, nothing more, nothing less.

Behind her, she could see Elijah leaning against the doorframe, his eyes fixed on her. His gaze was steady, almost unreadable, but there was something undeniably warm about it. She caught his reflection in the mirror and turned slightly to face him. "Why did you want the wedding today?" Fiona asked, her voice calm but curious. She wasn't expecting him to choose such a sudden day for their ceremony, especially with everything happening around them.

Elijah straightened, his hands sliding into the pockets of his simple white suit. His suit matched hers in simplicity, though it emphasized his broad shoulders and lean build. His dark hair was a little unruly, as if he had run his hands through it a few too many times, but it only made him look more handsome. His gray eyes stood out even more against the crisp whiteness of his suit, and for a moment, Fiona found herself captivated by the way he looked-so composed yet still carrying that familiar intensity.

"I thought you didn't care for an extravagant wedding," Elijah replied, his tone light. "Though you deserve one." He pushed off the door and took a few steps toward her, his eyes never leaving hers.

Fiona smiled softly and shook her head. "I don't," she said. "I've never cared about all the fuss. But you're a prince. You should have a proper ceremony, at least."

Elijah stopped just in front of her, his hand reaching out to touch the side of her face. "I can't wait anymore," he said, his voice quieter now. "Besides, I wanted to keep this moment forever-just the two of us, without anything else to worry about."

of it.

Fiona looked up at him, her eyes searching his. She could see the sincerity in his words, the way he meant every part "He didn't want the distractions of a grand event or the pressure of his royal responsibilities. He wanted this-her, him, and/ nothing else for just a moment in time. She nodded, understanding him without needing to say anything more.

As she gazed at him in his simple white suit, Fiona realized just how right this felt. Elijah wasn't dressed like a prince today and she wasn't dressed like a bride expected to marry royalty. They were just themselves, two people who had been through so much, standing on the edge of something new.

"Okay," she said, her voice steady. "Let's do this."

She approached him, but he didn't move. Then she asked, "Is something the matter?"

Elijah didn't move immediately when Fiona approached him. She noticed the brief hesitation in his eyes, and before she could ask again, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, intricately crafted necklace. It was a silver pendant shaped like a crescent moon, simple but undeniably beautiful.

"This belonged to my great-great-grandmother," Elijah said quietly, stepping closer. "She wore it on her wedding day, and now, I want you to have it."

Fiona blinked, her breath catching at the gesture. She didn't know what to say, but the warmth in Elijah's eyes told her this was more than just a tradition. It was a symbol of something deeper, something that connected them.

He carefully draped the necklace around her neck, his fingers brushing lightly against her skin as he fastened the clasp. The cool metal settled just above her collarbone, but it didn't feel cold. Instead, it felt like a piece of Elijah, something that now belonged to her as much as it had belonged to his ancestors.

Elijah stepped back slightly, his gaze lingering on her for a moment before he held out his hand. "Shall we?"

Fiona nodded and took his hand. Together, they left the room and walked toward the fountain outside his palace. The air was crisp, the soft sounds of nature filling the quiet space between them. When they arrived, the King was already there, waiting near the fountain. He was all smiles, his posture relaxed as he stood with both his attendant and Elijah at his side. There were no decorations or elaborate setups, just the clear, open sky above them and the ancient fountain softly flowing behind.

It was simple, and it felt warm.

Elijah turned to her as they stopped in front of the King. "Tonight is a full moon," he said, his voice calm but filled with meaning.

The King nodded in acknowledgment. He then looked at Fiona, his eyes sharp but not unkind. "Fiona, are you sure you will marry my son?" His tone was serious, but there was a flicker of humor in his eyes. "There is still a bit of time. You can run away if you want to, and I promise you no harm."

Elijah shot his father a glare, clearly not amused by the question. Fiona, however, laughed lightly. As always, the King really loved to joke around. "Yes," she replied with a smile. "I will, Your Majesty."

"My son can be a bit dramatic and possessive, but he would never hurt you. I can assure you that," the King continued.

"Thank you, Your Majesty," Fiona said.

The King's smile widened, and with a small nod, he stepped forward to begin the ceremony.

"Today," the King started, his voice steady and formal. "we gather under the open sky, under the watchful gaze of the moon, to witness the union of two souls, two wolves, as they become one."

Elijah's hand tightened around Fiona's, his touch reassuring and steady. As someone who had been married in the past, Fiona was already very familiar with the wedding ceremony. The ceremony itself is short, but the festivities after can be a bit long.

The King continued, raising his hands slightly as if calling upon the very forces of nature. "The bond between mates is sacred. It is not just a choice, but a calling-a bond that cannot be broken, one that will last through all trials, all challenges, and all time. Today, Elijah and Fiona will seal that bond."

The King looked at Fiona first. "Fiona, you stand here as an equal to my son, as his mate and his partner. Do you accept this bond, to stand by him, protect him, and share your strength with him in all things?"

Fiona looked up at Elijah. "I do," she said firmly. She expected to at least feel her heart rate accelerate, but it didn't. Instead, it was steady. It was as calm as her wolf.

The King nodded approvingly, then turned to Elijah. "And Elijah, do you accept this bond, to protect Fiona, stand by her, and share your strength with her in all things?" "I do," Elijah said.

The King stepped back slightly. "Then, as the moon rises tonight, your bond will be completed. But now, seal your commitment."

Elijah turned to Fiona, releasing her hand only for a moment before cupping her face gently in his hands. "From this moment," he whispered, his gray eyes locked on hers. "You are mine, and I am yours."
