CONTRACTLY, IT'S YOU -
18 - THE DRESS I WANT
We left the restaurant. He had asked his men to get me the slippers I was wearing. Kai's grip tightened around my hand as he held my bag in his other hand. He opened the car door and helped me in.
I felt quiet during the drive. I felt like I couldn't speak after watching him eat. I pushed those thoughts away. As we drove, he spoke in a way that made me freeze.
"You've been sighing throughout the drive, is something wrong?" he asked, placing his hands on my thighs.
My heart sank. I looked down at his hands and then shook my head slightly.
"Nothing is wrong," I said slowly.
"Tiffany, you're red," he said.
I pressed my lips tight. Well, if you got your hands off my thighs, I won't be. I said to myself but smiled instead.
"I thought it might be a good idea to go shopping. I don't think I have something suitable for a club," I replied, I had no idea when that thought nurtured in my head, but it came out as if I planned it all long. His hands slipped from my thighs, and I breathed.
"Rick, take us to a mall nearby."
My gaze caught Michael's gaze through the rearview mirror. I looked out the window, avoiding whatever this was going to cost. Michael wasn't my priority, Kai was, and the money and house after this contract were. What could he possibly offer me? I need a life.
We arrived at a mall, and Kai got down. I looked around to grab my bag, but it was gone as I searched the car. The door opened, and I found Kai holding onto it. He reached out his hands, helping me out. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded in reply.
It wasn't my first time going into a mall with Kai, but it was awkwardly quiet. However, his guards behind us seemed to drawing a lot of attention. Everyone was staring and whispering.
I leaned towards Kai, and he leaned down enough for me to whisper into his ears.
"I think that store is better," I said, Kai looked in the direction which I pointed, looked at me, and nodded.
As we entered the store. I sighed quietly. The crowd staring was so much, and I wasn't expecting it.
I turned around to Kai, "Do we really need guards? I mean, no one is attacking or whatever,"
"Yeah, do we need cars?" He replied. I furrowed my brows, and he chuckled. "I'm joking, but if they make you uncomfortable, we can just fire them,"
I wasn't sure if he was threatening me, or if he was being considerate. "That's not necessary, they can take today off," I said pulling out a short skimpy dress, Kai's brows shot up.
He looked away, replaceing a seat. A lady walked up to me. "Good day, ma'am, how may I help you?"
"Yeah. You can, I'm looking for a dress," I said, following the red-haired lady. She showed me around, there wasn't any dress that grabbed my attention.
I stole a peep from Kai at where he sat, he remained seated. Until I couldn't spot him. However, the guards were still there, he couldn't have gone far. My phone in my hands rang, and it was Noami. I sighed and picked up. "Finally," I said resisting the urge to roll my eyes.

"I'm sorry. I was in court. What's up?" She asked. I remained silent as a red dress caught my attention.
"Can I try this on?" I asked the lady. She nodded, helping me take the dress out of the hanger.
"Who are you speaking to?"
"A store manager?" I looked back and the lady had gone to get the dress out of the hanger. Kai was still nowhere to be found.
"Oh, girl. I wish I was you, shopping in Cancun and not giving a fuck, ugh," I could feel the frustration in her voice.
"I'm shopping with Kai. He agreed to go clubbing with me," There was a huge silence that followed my statement. "Put on that dress, I need to take a goddamn look."
I laughed, rolling my eyes. The store attendee came out with the dress. Gosh, the reddish color was dazzling. "This way, ma'am," She said, and I followed.
"What club is it? A strip club? Or a regular one? I do hope it's a strip club."
I entered the dressing room and dropped my phone on a small slim table at the corner of the entrance.

"I think it's a regular club. Stripping? Why would you bring that up?" I paused, staring at my phone.
"I don't know. It's been ages since I saw you strip. Do you know how sexy you look doing that? Why don't you try it again? Maybe, strip for Kai. I'm sure he would fall in love with you immediately!" She said, emphasizing her 'immediately'
I shook my head. Although her words had planted a seed, I wasn't going to water it. The last time Kai saw me stripping, he didn't even pay or give me attention. He would probably walk out of the damn room if I tried.
"I think he is gay. He might be," I whispered, stepping out of the dressing room. I walked to where I had spotted a mirror. I stopped, staring at the red gown.
"Damnit. If this didn't make him lose his mind. I would assume he is gay, Noami," I looked at my phone in my hand, and Noami was switching to a video call. I accepted, showing her my dress.
"I think I agree with you, I'm questioning my gender right now seeing you in that dress," I blushed, giggling.
The red dress was a sophisticated, figure-hugging gown featuring a lustrous, plunging neckline that accentuated my décolletage and was sleeveless, showing off my toned arms and shoulders, and it hugged my figure to emphasize my curves. It has a high hemline that falls on my thigh and a slit up the right side that reveals my leg.
"I think I want to keep this."
"Tiffany, love. Let's talk at night, I have to go," Noami said.
"Alright, loves!" I said. Noami blew kisses before hanging up. I dropped my phone, turning my sides to take a look at my back figure. This was the perfect gown I needed.
"You know that dress calls for a thousand bodyguards because everyone's eyes are going to be on you," Kai's voice startled me, I gasped, looking back to where he sat confidently on the couch after spilling whatever that was, his gaze was fixed on me.
