CONTRACTLY, IT'S YOU
1 - THE TROPHY WIFE

"Ohhh, Mrs Winson, it's so good to have you here every weekend. I can see you've improved your cooking skills."

Madam Gracia stared at the shepherd's pie I made. We both looked at each other, glaring, to be precise. That is what all the rich women did; they hate each other, yet they smile so brightly like the person in front of them is their savior while they glare at themselves.

"My husband loves your recipe for shepherd's pie," I replied with a big smile, exposing my white teeth even though that was a big lie. Kai didn't. He hated shepherd's pie, but it was my favorite.

"Exactly, a woman should live and breathe for her husband." I scowled and lowered my head. Thank goodness this was a contract marriage. If it weren't, I would have handed out divorce papers right after that statement.

Suddenly, I heard whispers and quickly raised my head. Oh my god! What was he doing here? I stared at my so-called husband-Kai Winson, step into my cooking class. I fixed the fake smile at the ladies who stared at me with jealousy in their eyes.

"Oh my! Mr Winson, are you here to pick up your wife?" Madam Gracia asked.

My gaze didn't leave him, his either, as I watched him walk toward me, getting closer until he was a few inches away from me. I glanced at him from head to toe. He broke my rules this time, entering my cooking class.

He leaned closer to me and whispered. "Smile, you look like you're about to kill someone," Kai kissed my cheek. "Hey, love,"

"You're here," I giggled, looking at everyone. I could never get used to him calling me love. I got he did this because, to everyone, we had to look like a married couple in deep love, but behind closed doors, he didn't stop calling me that. "Since you're here, Mr Winson, why don't you taste Tiffany's pie? She said it was your favorite." Madam Gracia suggested.

"Oh no!" I covered the pie. I looked at him. Why does he have to come at the wrong time? He didn't even give me a heads-up.

"Oh, why? Why? You said he loves it, and it does taste nice," another woman interrupted.

"Let's see his reaction!" They insisted. Kai's hands craned my waist to my back, resting slightly away from my butt.

"Come on, love, just a bite. I know you're saving it for dinner," Kai smiled. I wasn't; I was taking it home to Noami, and she loved it too.

opened the pie, chuckling nervously. I grabbed a spoon and handed it to him, but he refused to take it.

"Give it to me," he whispered. I nodded, looking at everyone. They looked so curious. I took the spoon and scoped from it. I gulped really hard before giving it to him.

They whispered among themselves. Were they pleased with such acts? I never understand people.

Kai ate the pie with so much delight in his eyes. He took the spoon from me, took a portion, and fed it to me. I inhaled deeply. Damnit. He loved to catch me off guard.

I opened my mouth and took it from him. "Oh my, you two are such a lovely couple. Oh my!" I squeezed my face, looking at Kylie Carter- my close pal I met at the cooking class six months ago. "My love," he called. My face adjusted. "You don't mind if I steal this angel for today?"

"I was already done, my lord," I said in a low voice, quietly mocking him. I hoped he got that message.

"If that's all, thank you for taking care of my wife,"

I looked back at him. People fail to realize that whenever Kai smiles, he isn't smiling. He was smirking with deceit. I could see it repeatedly, except when he was with his family.

We walked out of the building to where his car was parked. "When did you get back? Aren't you supposed to be in London?"

"I saw your text message," he took my bag, where I placed my pie, and put it in the backseat.

I blinked. "You flew from London to Seattle? Because of my text message?"

"I got back this morning. You weren't home. I realized you would be here. Shepherd's pie, huh?"

I exhaled. "I'm sorry, I was going to-"

"For Noami again?" He opened the car door. "Let me drive you,"

"What? No, you can't drive me to Seattle, I-" He rushed forward and pecked my lips.

"Just get in," he said quietly.

"Kai..."

"A woman is staring at us. Don't look back, do what I say," He let go of me. I inhaled.

"You're so sweet, honey, thank you," I walked to the car, getting in. Kai closed the door, making his way to the driver's seat. I scoffed, staring at Alison Walter.

It was the first day of Gracia's cooking class. Alison was the first person I talked to. She was rude. I never knew why she hated me. She was married, and it couldn't be because of Kai. Who knows, it could be it.

"I will drop you wherever you want me to. I have a meeting soon," Kai interrupted my thoughts.

I knew it. It was all an act. "Do you know you can be an actor instead of a businessman? It suits you well."

"My father put a tail on you." He pulled out a card. "Here, go shopping while you're staying the weekend in Manhattan,"

I took the card. "Can I buy a car if I want to?" I asked teasingly.

Kai glanced between me and the road. "If that makes you act well and smile while shopping. We've succeeded for six months. I trust you can do better. Isn't that true, love?" He gazed at me.

"Tiffany," I corrected. Hearing him call me that makes my heart flutter. I hate it.

"I will see you on Sunday, love,"

I rolled my eyes. He always does what he wants. Kai dropped me off. I waved as I watched him drive back.

"My father put a tail on you," I hated that about rich people. I wasn't surprised. Mr Nolan disliked me. He hated I was a stripper and a low class who couldn't even attend university. The pressure of acting as Kai's trophy wife was a bit burdensome, but it was better than being a stripper who barely made ends meet.
