Damien sat up first. He could feel pain in the leg which the Cobra had twirled around. His eyes fell on the grotesque state of the dead snake. He couldn't look at it for long. He looked away. He tried to get on his feet. It turned out that it wasn't as difficult as he thought it would be. Though he couldn't balance himself on the left leg properly, yet the other leg was firm enough. "How am I supposed to get to the watchtower in this state?"

It was a sad realization as well as promising. If he could make his way there, all this would be over. Also, he was really eager to know what the rewards for the three consecutive tasks would be. [Ping! If mastered, the skin of a snake could be used for healing wounds.]

"Huh?"

Damien couldn't help but take a last gaze upon the dead snake.

"Does it mean that I could heal my fractured bones?"

The realization sent a ray of hope which lit up the gloomy mood. But when he thought of it further, he shook his head,

"How am I supposed to master it. This system is really shady. Gives a tip then keeps quiet. I can't wait to get the skill of questions and answers!!!! The system would regret ever creating such skill or feature." He had no idea why he was getting all worked up at that spot. He needed to return to the watchtower and get this over with.

"How am I supposed to climb the watchtower in this state?"

He took in a deep breath.

"I'll cross the bridge when I get there. Let's arrive first."

He puffed a wave of warm air, closed his eyes for no reason then began to limp. The pain throbbing in the other leg was terrible but bearable. He could still use the leg, but he dared not put much pressure on it or he would be screaming his lungs out.

To his utmost dismay, it wasn't as difficult as he thought it would be. With less struggle and effort, he arrived at the foot of the Boabab tree. The Cannibal was still there.

SHOULD I TAKE THE RISK?

He took in a deep breath again, pushing a tiny lump down his dry throat. To think that he almost lost his life to the snake was very scary. But at least, he got over it and killed it without the help of the system. That was something to be proud of.

Looking at it from an objective point of view, the trial mode had really helped him realize what he had been getting wrongly. Where he had been lagging and how to be responsible for every decision he makes. YOU KNOW WHAT, FUCK THIS. AFTER ALL, THE SYSTEM DIDN'T GIVE A CONDITION. IT ONLY SAID TO GET BACK TO MY BODY.

He nodded then walked closer to the Cannibal who reasonably didn't know that he had arrived yet.

"Walk closer to the tree and face it, your back to the woods."

"Lugal, you're back?"

The Cannibal asked with enthusiasm.

"Yes I am. Do as you are told. No time to dilly-dally."

It wasn't important whether or not the Cannibal understood the last word he used. He didn't care.

The Cannibal did as he was told.

"Now go down a little bit, like you wanna stoop."

"Stoop?"

The Cannibal didn't quite grasp that.

"I mean, act like you want to attack a lion or any other predator."

"Oh."

The Cannibal crouched at once.

THIS FOOL, THAT'S WAY TOO LOW.

He complained more to himself than the fellow.

"Push your knees up a little bit, then spread your back widely."

YES THAT IS IT.

He was impressed with how the Cannibal took little details into account. How he did justice to such a little detail. To his dismay, the Cannibal took the exact perfect shape he needed.

He climbed on the back of the Cannibal. He waited for the Cannibal to groan or something but it didn't seem to come.

IS THIS HOW INSIGNIFICANT TO THE WORLD I AM? THIS IS PATHETIC.

He knew he couldn't farm around that new emotion. He needed to keep his head clear.

"Now stand up slowly."

He continued with the order. His arms were wrapped around the neck of the Cannibal. He was prepped for any sort of impact. No protection is risky huh?

"Climb up the tree. As steadily and --"

Words were too much, the Cannibal was already at the top of the Boabab tree, climbing into the watchtower.

WOW. IMPRESSIVE.

It wouldn't kill Damien to appreciate the effort.

"Now turn your back to the small room."

"Please steady yourself on the branch so you won't slip off."

He needed to be as cautious as he could. If the Cannibal lost his balance on the fat branch of the Boabab on which he was standing, not only would Damien worry about his legs but his back and every other parts of his body. Because the fall would be fatal.

"Tell me when you are sure you've gotten a balance."

The Cannibal pushed his body swiftly and smoothly in the blink of an eye.

"Now, Lugal."

It was strange that Damien took those words of the Cannibals as an order. Like he was being ordered. Perhaps he was thinking too much. Or because he was vulnerable, he found the need to be very sensitive and read extra meanings to the littlest details.

"Now!"

He slowly, yet thoughtfully jumped off the back of Cannibal. He landed in the small, open room, by his body which was lying on an elevated spot. He groaned.

OH SHIT, THIS SO EXHAUSTING.

There was no more time to worry about anything else. He got on his feet.

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO POSSESS THIS BODY AGAIN?

He gulped. His heart thumped violently in his chest like it would break it open. He was very nervous.

FUCK THIS.

He gulped again then walked closer and closer till there was no room for a further step.

MAYBE LIE ON IT?

It was more of a decision than a doubt. He slowly lie on his body, face-down. He made sure to make every part of the body brush with each other. Only his lips were exception. He couldn't bring himself to touching his lips to the lips of the body, just like the forehead rest against each other.

WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING?

He couldn't help but wonder. His legs, arms, thighs and every other part brushed against their counterparts but his lips.

OR COULD IT BE THE LIPS?

He pursed his lips for no reason.

WHATEVER. BUT FOR REAL, I'M NOT KISSING MYSELF I JUST WANT TO --

As soon as his lips touched each other, he felt a violent stream of energy ripple through his body, making him shudder heavily. He could swear that he was screaming at the impact but he couldn't hear his own voice, just like before.

When the strange current quit travelling through his body, a sheet of thick darkness fell on him. Gloom.

When next his eyes flipped open, at first, his vision was blurry, but then the greeting rays of light seemed wild enough to correct the lens.

AM I BACK?

Were his first question. He tried to sit up. He did. He looked around, there was no second person beside him. He was one.

IS IT OVER?

He so wanted this, yet he found it quite difficult to believe. Probably because he didn't have much trust in the system.

He moved his arm, gently, his legs and every other moveable part. He realized that not only has he returned to his normal body, but all his pains were gone.

"Woooo!!! Yes!!! Fuck yes!!! I'm fucking back!!! Ahhh! Fuck me!!!"

He screamed on top of his voice. Then did he notice that the Cannibal was still standing outside the small room on the Boabab tree.

"Lugal..."

The Cannibal turned to him. His big eyes bulged at his sockets.

"Lugal!!!"

This time the Cannibal's call was with a hint of joy and shock.

"Is it really you? Did you return to us... Lugal!!!"

Damien stood up and walked closer to Cannibal who had ran into the room in glee.

"Rise. The Divine one has returned."

"Oh... Lugal... Oh Lugal..."

The Cannibal wouldn't stop saying.

"Like I said. You've been chosen. You shall keep this away from the rest until I tell you otherwise."

"With my life, Lugal."

The Cannibal swore.

"Return to your post now. To the foot of the tree and keep watch."

The Cannibal bowed and jumped off at once.

"Huh?"

Damien rushed out of the room after him to see whether he fell. But looking down, the Cannibal was firm on his feet. Such skill. Natural and graceful. He was jealous.

When he looked away from the Cannibal, his eyes strayed to the woods. Suddenly he saw someone ran away from behind a tree, using the tall shrubs as an aid to escape.

Damien rushed back inside the room, pressing his hand to his chest.

"No, no way. It can't be. She can't see me. She can't. No one can."
