Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties -
Chapter 98
"Y'all bastards come out now. I'm ready!!! Let's do this!!!"
Damien called on top of his voice. He was standing on one of the rocks in the cave. His eyes travelling across the whole large but cold cave. He didn't have to strain his vision. Even though the amount of light leased by the high sun seated in the sky wasn't strong enough, its illuminant got to where he was.
He knew what to do. He hurried to the flower which he had touched indeliberately the previous and last time he visited the small island.
He arced his body, bending towards it. His fingers were about to touch... he paused for a moment.
"Remind me, what skill am I supposed to use?"
He asked as though he had directed the question to someone, whereas he was the only one in the cave.
"Fuck this. I don't give a shit."
He touched the flower. He yelled,
"Let's get this started, ladies and gentlemen."
He hurried to one of the highest rocks in the cave and stood at the tip. He looked around him.
In no time, he began to hear the chittering of the scorpions, and their little feet hurrying towards his direction.
"It's now or never, Damien."
He flipped out the system window. He clicked on the superpower. But he needed about twenty seconds for the power to reload.
"Oh shit."
He cussed, seeing how angrily the scorpions were hurrying in his direction.
"Come on, you bastard. Come on."
He called bitterly. Beneath him, there was a swarm of the scorpions. And they were getting so many that they were beginning to make a mound, and slowly increasing in heights.
"Oh shit."
He gritted his teeth when he noticed some crawling up the rock on which he was standing.
"Seven seconds more? Are you fucking kidding me?"
He was getting really impatient. Suddenly, one of the scorpions sprouted wings and was suspended in the air.
"Oh crap... what's with this suspense?"
He couldn't believe that the scorpion was hanging in the air, staring creepily at him. He looked at the timer again, three seconds more.
"Now bastard. Now please."
He pleaded desperately! But to his utmost dismay, it seemed as though he had directed the plea to the scorpion which flew at him at once.
"Oh fuck."
The scorpion landed on his chest. The wrestle began. Not only would he have to get the scorpion off his chest, but he had to stable his stance on the tip of the rock, else the supposed ode would turn into an elegy.
[Ping! Loading!]
"Loading what... the fuck!!!!"
The scorpion had clipped his clothes so passionately like they were some sworn lovers. No matter how hard he tried to fight it off, it wouldn't go off...
That wasn't his only concern. The scorpions crawling up the rock were around his feet now.
"Oh shit, I'll kill the bastard behind this system."
Was that the time to make unnecessary threats? The scorpion in his chest crawled up his body to his neck.
He took a risk, grabbed the scorpion, making a handful, and flung his arm to hurl it away. Too bad, the scorpion was intact on his chest, crawling up his neck... but he lost his balance and fell.
"Ahhhh!!!!"
He screamed. He couldn't help but nurse the urgent thoughts of whether or not that was his end.
But when he was about about to hit the earth choked by the mounds of scorpions, he felt a sudden surge across his body. There was a wild ectasy which followed that felling. His eyes glowed and his body became charged.
Suddenly he felt a great pressure on his body, then an unknown force which threw him off the air. When next he realized what was happening, he made an impact on the earth and all the scorpions around there went flying into the air, crashing against the cold walls of the cave.
One of his knees kissing the earth, one up. One of his arms outstretched towards the earth, palm kissing the damp earth, while the other arm rested on the idle knee.
He felt a strange wave of currents sizzling his jaws. It felt like his first time of using the superpower. There was something really strange about it.
He arced his head up. Behind him was the opening of the cave. What a great spot the power had placed him.
He waited for a few seconds, watching as the scorpions came together, forming an interesting pattern. He wanted to observe closely and tell what that pattern looked like, because for some reason it looked familiar.
But he was burning in ire, plus he wasn't himself anymore.
He jumped on his feet, it seemed as though his sole was suspended in the air. His body was oozing blue and white currents. He could feel it and see the silhouette. He felt like a god!
He slowly raised out of his arms till it was outstretched before him. Then he brought the other arm to it.
He slowly put his palms together, and shut the doors of his eyes. He began to gently twirl his fingers over the other palm. Gradually, the currents began to concentrate... graduating into a ball of laser.
He didn't open his eyes yet, even though he could hear the scorpions sprinting. He could hear wings flapping. He was waiting for the perfect timing. Obviously.
GO!
His instinct snapped at him and he let the fat ball of laser off. He was glad that he opened his eyes as soon as he let the laser off. He saw how the laser spread out, dissolving the ball, flowing like a wave of lava to every corner and direction the scorpions were.
He watched and heard the horror sound of the scorpions as they were scorched by the impact. It was very satisfying to watch, but then he felt a string of sadness picking on his inner man. Unfortunately, the impact of the laser on the rocks it swept past and bathed was tragic. He watched how the rocks cracked after a while and crumbled into pebbles and little stones.
There was no reason to feel bad. On the bright side, that had turned the cave into an open space.
He flipped the system window out and scrolled through.
"This should do."
He clicked on a feature tagged, THE WILD CLEANER.
[Ping! System notification: Host should vacate the cave, The Wild Cleaner about to commence its task.] Damien walked out of the cave with no question. He walked off the mountain and headed towards the ocean. "Didn't know that it would be this easy to kill off the scorpions. Such a cakewalk."
He gloated, staring at the long body of water.
Suddenly he heard a wild activity behind him and turned.
"Huh? A sandstorm?"
That was what he thought at first, but when he observed closely.
"This is not a sandst---"
He realized that he had to move out of the way. There was a wave of rolling ruins, of both pebbles, stones and dead scorpions zooming his direction.
His body made a quick reflexes of its own accord which resulted into a backflip. Damien watched as the wave of ruins crashed into the ocean which gobbled it up at once as though it had been famished all its
life.
"Woah... what was that?"
He walked closer, wondering.
"If I had known, I would had waited at the mouth of the cave and see for myself."
[Ping! System notification: Host discovered!]
"Huh?"
Before Damien could ask a question, his neck was forcefully tilted in a direction; towards the ocean, looking past it.
"Who is that?"
He noticed that there was someone at the other end of the ocean. The ocean which divided the jungle from that island wasn't too wide, but quite wide. Close enough to notice that someone was on the other end.
"This looks like a girl..."
He strained his eyes.
"I wish I could ---"
He didn't complete those words when suddenly his vision was zoomed and the face of the girl standing at the other end was in his face. In 12k resolution.
"Ayisha?"
He muttered.
"Did she see me?"
Out of a million questions which he had to ask, that was the only one which he gave reverence to. Yet, he wasn't sure of how to answer it.
"How did she know that I would be --"
His vision started to blur out. His head aching so badly. He didn't need to be told, he know what that was.
He slumped and dropped by the shore. He could feel water lapping against his warm skin...
