Chapter 124 As If I Care

Lanfroze for a moment, then shot her a look of discomfort before turning and walking back into his room. This time, he left the door open.

The woman hurried after him. "tan, please listen to me! I didn't mean for things to happen like that. Can't you give me another chance? We can finally meet up, and this is how you want to treat me?"

tan slammed the door shut with a force that made the walls tremble. However, even through the thick wood, Bella could hear the low growl that he tried to suppress. "That's enough!"

Bella lanew she shouldn't eavesdrop. She had never seen lan this angry before. She closed her door quietly and pretended nothing had happened.

At around 6:00 am, the woman seemed to have left. Bella could hear lan's door opening and closing, followed by footsteps fading down the hall. It was the footsteps of one person, not two. Soon, her phone buzzed with a text from lan, "Care for a talk?"

Bella remembered the look on his face when he saw her earlier. For a split second, she wondered if he would silence her for good. However, she shook off the ridiculous thought and forced herself to go.

When she stepped into tan's room, the mess on the floor looked like a fight had broken out not long ago. She carefully picked her way through the debris and foun a spot to sit. "Who was that? What happened?"

Bella inhaled softly. "I get it. I didn't see anything. But your hand... Are you sure you're okay? Maybe you should see a doctor,"

lan shook his head softly, "You're not the only doctor around. I'll be fine. Sometimes, I'm quite jealous of Dominic."

Bella was confused. "

"What?"

tan gave her a crooked smile and went silent.

The two of them sat in silence until daylight. Eventually, lan packed up his things, getting ready to leave. He looked like his usual careless self who was swaggering and defiant. He glanced at Bella and said, "I bet Dominic won't stay abroad for more than two weeks. One week tops, and he'll be back in Joville."

Bella was puzzled, lan didn't seem interested in continuing, and she knew better than to poke at someone who had just come down from an emotional storm. Later that morning, Lia was as enthusiastic as the day before. Knowing it was Lia's first trip with Oscar, Bella decided to give the couple some space. She felgned feeling unwell and stayed behind at the hotel.

When Lla and Oscar returned that evening with arms full of shopping bags, the three of them boarded their flight home. As soon as the plane took off, Bella felt the exhaustion hit and closed her eyes. La nudged her playfully. "Why do you look so tired? Is it because Dominic hasn't texted you today?"

Bella shot her an irritated glance. "As if I care."

Lia stifled a laugh, then leaned in to show off the necklace Oscar gave. "Look at this. Nice, huh? Oscar got it for me."

Bella rolled her eyes and shoved her earbuds in, hoping to block out the shameless gloating. The last thing she needed was to get blinded by their flashy romantic inoments. Luckily, Oscar wasn't even sitting with them.

When they finally landed back in Joville, Bella said her goodbyes to Lia and Oscar before catching a cab home.

As she walked into the house, something at the entrance made her pause. It was Dominic's shoes that were tossed carelessly by the door and hadn't been put away yet.

Suddenly, Fan's words from that meming echoed in her mind. "I bet Dominic won't stay abroad for more than two weeks. One week tops, and he'll be back in javille
