Crystalla
Our Legacy

Ashe and Ariel were taking a break from helping archaeologists examine the ruins of Utopia, the warm summer sun shone down on the floating continent as the work continued. Ashe looked up at the fallen Academy on the hill.

"It'll be four years since that day, soon" Ashe pondered.

"Yeah, strange to think how much has changed since then" Ariel nodded. "That being said, Ruby is apparently still as small as ever" She chuckled.

"I guess Dragons take a long time to actually... grow" Ashe nodded, as she ate a sandwich. "They do live tens of thousands of years after all" She smiled.

"I wonder how old Arranthian was?" Ashe pondered.

"Ancient, I guess, he was half the size of Sanctuary" Ariel suggested. She gazed around at the ruins of the city and sighed. "I guess this was once his home" She added.

"Apparently so, yes" Ashe nodded. "It's sad to think, a city like this, peaceful and pacifistic fell so quickly" She frowned.

"It's why we will always have to be vigilant" Ariel sighed. "We may have beaten the big bad, but no doubt someone will try to seize power, we just have to be sure to be ready for them" She shrugged.

"I guess" Ashe nodded. "Investigating what happened here, should give us insights into how it could be prevented, I think" She added.

"It's why history is important" Ariel agreed. "If my Mother had looked at the history of the world, then..." She sighed.

"Do you miss her, Amanda?" Ashe asked.

"I never thought I would, but I do... in a weird way" Ariel nodded. "She wasn't a good person, she did many bad things, but, there's a part of me, deep within, that cared about her, for some reason" She shrugged.

"I guess, she was your mother... and she did try to make amends" Ashe smiled, slightly.

"I feel similar about Rory too" Ariel nodded. "Especially what he did, for Roisin, in the Underworld" She added, Ashe smiled, and held Ariel's hand before kissing her on the cheek.

"Don't get too down over it all..." Ashe smiled faintly. "They'd be proud to see what you've achieved" She added.

"I guess so" Ariel nodded. "But, at the same time, their approval of me, would mean nothing to me" She added.

"I can understand that" Ashe nodded, as she stood up and stretched. "I'm proud of you though" She chuckled.

"Now that does mean something to me" Ariel laughed, as she stood up and hugged Ashe. As the day passed by, the archaeologists soon settled in for the night. Ashe and Ariel headed up to the grand hall of Lumina Academy, where they had once fought to save the world.

It was the first time that either of them had been in that room since the day that Tartarus fell, nearly four years prior.

"This room..." Ashe shivered.

"Yeah, we lost so many here, Brannam, Tristal, Memoria, Aran, Mizu..." Ariel sighed. "Abyssia and Lumina too, I guess" She added.

"I wonder what this room was like, back in the day that Lumina used it as her palace?" Ashe asked.

"I imagine it looked pretty majestic" Ariel smiled. "A lot of white, blue and gold, judging from the fossilized paint fragments they found in the city" She added.

"I wonder what our legacy will be?" Ashe asked.

"We saved the world, Ashe" Ariel shrugged and laughed. "I think that is a pretty good legacy to leave behind" She added.

"Gods, Ariel" Ashe rolled her eyes and laughed. "I was trying to drop a hint there" She shrugged.

"A hint? Seems more like a riddle to me..." Ariel pondered.

"I want... to adopt" Ashe smiled.

"Oh..." Ariel's eyes widened, and she froze in place.

"You... don't approve?" Ashe asked.

"Of course I approve" Ariel squealed as she ran at Ashe and hugged her. Ashe chuckled and hugged Ariel back, as the moonlight shone in through the
