Chapter 24

Audrey fell asleep very soundly and felt her body float so lightly when she had just taken the medicine given by Aldrick.

That night they didn't talk anymore because Audrey didn't come out of the room after delivering food to Alfan. She didn't even go out or check to see what time her son went to bed, the golden grain medicine had literally put him to sleep and he didn't remember anything until he woke up quite early that morning.

Audrey stayed on the bed confused but then she breathed a sigh of relief and remembered that her son had the day off. Alfan would not be going to school as it was a holiday and that allowed her to close her eyes again tiredly and wishing that he was still sleeping as she felt very unenergetic at the moment.

Aldrick sensed that this woman's body was indeed weakening. It made him move to release her embrace, then looked down at Audrey's face that was closed and almost asleep.

He gently kissed Audrey's forehead and lips, he didn't care whether this woman intended to treat him or not but he certainly used all his feelings and common sense when making love earlier. He was already amazed and in love with Audrey without realizing it.

"Thank you."

Audrey smiled softly with no idea what it meant.

"I will take care of you forever without letting you go, Luna."

Audrey slowly felt her energy returning and during her sleep she felt someone transferring power to her so that she could heal properly. Audrey spent three days healing, then looked up at the handsome face of Aldrick who was seriously holding her hand to transfer energy.

"Green lake river water mixed with honey from the white mountain," he said making Audrey frown. "This is very good for restoring your remaining strength and power."

Audrey finally took the glass, but Aldrick helped her hold it up and she ended up drinking it all. Only then did Audrey look at Aldrick's face which looked stronger with his aura of leadership again.

"You've recovered, what else do you want here?"

"You." Aldrick said without hesitation, answering her words with a serious look.

Audrey smiled softly and sighed. "Me? What for?" she said causing Aldrick to raise his hand and cup one of Audrey's cheeks. "I'm not ready to be used as a display again, I have to determine my own future which is much better than being with you but not considered."

"Who doesn't consider you, hmm?" said Aldrick with a gentle smile. "Then was then, now is now. I won't let you down again, so can you accept me?"

Audrey smiled softly and shook her head. "You don't have a good reason for it yet, so everything will just make you ignore me again."

Aldrick smiled and rubbed her face gently. "It's good to feel and see what I'm doing first, Luna, then you can talk about what you're going through. There's no need to speak without proof."
