Curse For Alpha: Betrayed Luna -
Chapter 30
A few days passed and Aldrick never came again, making Audrey sigh as she closed the bedroom window.
Tonight was darker than ever, there was said to be a storm and strong winds, so she could only stare at the sky from inside her bedroom window, before finally stepping into bed.
Alfan said there was no need to be guarded as he was going to sleep too. Her son had more courage than she did, but it was only natural that Alfan would become a clan leader even if Aldrick didn't come to him like he did now. Up until now, Audrey knew that it was her son she would protect, not her son who would protect her.
"How long are you going to keep doing this? Is it not finished yet?"
Although there was a sense of disbelief that Aldrick would come here again, Audrey remained hopeful. He had promised her that he would return, otherwise death or the like might come to Aldrick. Only, did that make sense? How could the man just leave when his strength was even greater than anyone else's?
Tired of thinking, Audrey did not want to hurt herself. Even if Aldrick didn't come back, she also had to continue living. Just like months ago when he hadn't come and disrupted her life, Audrey was still able to live a good life. Luckily she hadn't asked for my resignation and was still working here, otherwise it might have been a different story.
"What I'm about to do is also not something severe, I'll be able to live life. Fortunately, I've never depended on her completely for my life. I'm grateful for that, it can at least make me feel better and won't die of anxiety and misery." Closing her eyes, Audrey slept soundly and woke up several times to check on her son. There was only a strong wind this night, but Audrey could still sleep peacefully because there were no trees around her house. Even if there were, there were only small trees as decoration and it would not be dangerous if it fell.
Audrey woke up the next morning and there was still no sign of Aldrick, it had been almost a week since the incident where the clan was attacked. The man didn't come back maybe, didn't he come all this time because he lost his power? If not, how could he bother to come just to bring regret.
Audrey wasn't a special girl either, she was just an ordinary girl who didn't have anything special or extraordinary. No matter what, Audrey wouldn't be able to make it happen if Aldrick changed, he couldn't possibly change because of her. Back to business as usual, helping Alfan get ready and dropping him off at the school bus, before getting ready and working in her room. She majored in digital design, learning quickly how to create logo designs or the like that were requested by companies. Audrey learned quickly because she was someone who could learn things quickly and it didn't take long, so now she could do these things because she knew that everything she could do and learn. "I heard you want to resign?"
Her boss's sudden question made Audrey smile stiffly and reply politely. "I'm not resigning, sir. Because after I think about where I can get a good job like this. I will continue to work and survive for the company because at this time I also still need money to continue living. So, sorry for my request the other day, as amends I'll make some more logos than this to make it easier for you to market."
Her boss nodded, seeming to have no problem at all with what she said and that made Audrey quite happy. Indeed, her boss hadn't been much of a troublemaker since the first time Audrey looked for a job and gave her the job. He always assumed everything was safe and the important thing was that Audrey didn't make any fatal mistakes so anything was just a joke.
Audrey was seen lying down tiredly, she had just finished her assignment and was currently resting for a while so she could continue later. The woman's face looked thoughtful again but she didn't want to ask the omega employed by Aldrick, she felt that it was unnecessary because she could do and run everything herself.
"If he doesn't want to come back then that's fine. I should continue to work hard on my own and not depend on anyone because that will only cause me to not be able to enjoy my life. I have the ability and prowess to survive so I don't have to be someone else to be able to do anything."
Audrey closed her eyes, looking quite calm and lunchtime came. She ate heartily while staring at her laptop again as she had more work to do.
Audrey's life had been going on and on for the past few days and she was slowly starting to lose hope because there was no sign of Aldrick coming around. The man could get a much better woman than him too, being with Audrey wouldn't bring any benefits to Aldrick's life so she just wanted him to be a better person.

"How much longer?"
"It'll be done soon."
Audrey finished the finals, then sent it through the document. After that she rested and drank her coffee. A few days ago Audrey just got paid so she could buy any food or drink she wanted. For now she didn't have to think about him because she had a lot of work to do, just forget about it because later she would replace out where he was because he didn't show up until now.

"Mommy, why doesn't that man who claimed to be my father ever come anymore? Has something happened to him?"
Audrey looked at her son and smiled softly. "I don't know, I'll replace out later what the reason is. Just let him do it, maybe there are important unfinished business matters that he still has to do. He has to do a lot of things for his future, we don't need to push too much whether he will come here again or not."
Alfan looked at his mother's face who did not want to prolong the discussion so he just kept quiet and nodded. Maybe there was a reason and why the man who claimed to be his father did not come again, from the beginning he had never met the man and only now. Maybe the relationship between his mother and father wasn't that close or good so they wouldn't be together.
Alfan didn't push his mother because he knew that maybe everything wasn't in line with what he could do. For now he could just keep quiet and later when he was older he would understand everything. He doesn't want to be a problem if he has to continue so now it's better for him to keep quiet and when he grows up he will replace out what's really going on.

Audrey looked at her son's face who was already silent so she felt guilty herself. She was too quick to accept Aldrick when it was not certain that the man wanted to be with them forever. The man must have a reason why he prefers not to come anymore and there is no news, the priority that Aldrick should take care of should also be the clan and then them. As long as Aldrick here knew that they were fine, then he also did not want to come again and break the relationship like that.
They took a walk in the park, this afternoon the park looked a little wet because of several nights of rain but the children were still there and were busy playing there making Audrey intend to calm down and rest. A break from all the work she took the last few days, she knew that it all had to be done and she also needed refreshing to make her head lighter after this.

Audrey looked back at the window of her room. It's not going to rain tonight so the stars look so bright and the sky is also beautiful tonight. Audrey continued to stare at the stars while thinking about many things. Until finally the woman smiled to herself and felt silly because she shouldn't be here and didn't have to think about those things constantly.
"I basically can't forget about my thoughts of him. I keep thinking about you, Aldrick, even though if you still betray me this time it means you've done it twice. There should be no forgiveness but why do I have to stay here and ignorantly do all that? Why do I still have to wait for you when you might not come back."
Audrey wiped her tears, it had been over a week and there was no sign of him coming back. At least let him know if she was valued as his wife and partner. But she didn't get anything and it made Audrey feel sad.
If he was really busy, what was the harm in sending one of the Betas here to inform him about the state of the clan. She was not expected so the man didn't care about her either. After gaining his strength and abilities again Aldrick had completely changed, not wanting to come even just to signal to her that everything was fine.
"I was too trusting, giving that necklace to you and thinking it would give you strength and help. But maybe after meeting Emily you no longer care about me. After all, she is your first love, no matter how long it takes, I can never be your first and only. Emily is the first and will remain the first for you until whenever it is."
Audrey didn't know why she was so sensitive but certainly at this time she would continue to live life as usual even though she was a little upset that she couldn't stand. Audrey was weak about that guy, falling in love made her stupid. Audrey should be strict with herself, making love is only about lust and not necessarily love. Why is Audrey still stupid and can't tell the difference?
