CURSE OF THE MOON REBORN -
Chapter 66 THE BEACH
When Stephan got to the beach it was already set up. Marquis was sprawled on the white linen, in a white negligee. She was sipping blood from a crystal glass.
“I found a human on the other side of the beach. He is very delicious.” She smiled at him.
“What do you want now Marquis?” Stephan looked over her setup. It was exactly how he had designed it for Scarlet. How long had this woman been watching them?
“You don’t have to be so rude. If you want your daughter back, you better learn how to be nice to me.”
“What are you gaining from all of this?” He asked.
“I don’t understand.”
“These games you are playing. Do you enjoy seeing the pain this is causing me?” Stephan kept his temper in check.
“Why would you think that? I love you I don’t want to hurt you. This pain you are feeling, you are bringing it to yourself.” She rose and stroked his cheek.
Stephan didn’t pull away, he didn’t move at all. He just glared at her, commanding every inch of his being not to rip her head off her body.
“If only you didn’t stray away from me our lives would be different right now.”
“You think so.”
“I know so. Why don’t we stop talking and start kissing instead.” Marquis rose to kiss him but he only pulled away. “Make love to me Stephan, like you did yesterday.”
“That won’t be possible this time. No matter how much I try to picture you as Scarlet, it just won’t work this time.” his mouth curved into a dark smile. He lowered his head to her neck and brushed his lips against his skin.
“I can’t bear touching you as I did her.” He bit into her flesh and made her yelp.
“But last night, you did.” Marquis stumbled away from his murderous grin.
“No that was Scarlet I was with last night. You were just a thing that was there as a physical substitute.” Stephan stalked towards her.
“You are lying.” She screamed.
“Ok let’s try.” He pulled his shirt over his head, his muscles ripped. “Where are you going?”
“Really?” she sounded hopeful as she stopped her retreat.
“Really. You wanted to be a family and this is how families start.” He mocked her. It was unbelievable that she ate up everything that he was saying to her.
“Ok.”
“I don’t have to restrain myself with you. You aren’t as fragile as Scarlet was. But she managed to survive my hunger and desire.” Stephan held her gaze. A few more steps and he would have her in his clutches. He wasn’t sure about what he was about to do, but he knew how it would all end.
“I can take whatever you dish out.” Marquis grinned, relieved that things were going her way at last.
“Come here.” Stephan stretched out his hand to her. Come to me you witch so that I squeeze the life out of you.
“I’m glad that you have finally come to your senses. We will be so happy together.”
Stephan smiled, wondering how deep her delusion ran.
“You’ll see. I can make you happier than those two can.”
Stephan could feel his temper rising. But as much as he tried to control it, it seemed to have a mind of its own.
“Come here and let me make love to you.”
Marquis froze inches away from him. Her look of glee had turned to that of fright. “Then why do your eyes say that you want to kill me.”
Shit. That was the only part of himself that he could get to lie. Scarlet called his eyes the mirror to his soul and now they mirrored his true feelings for her.
Marquis turned to ran just as Stephan reached for her. He missed her and resorted t running after her. He almost caught her when her reinforcements arrived. Stephan stopped and gazed at them. He was greatly outnumbered and was regretting his decision to come alone. But he needed a release and killing a bunch of vampires was the best way to get it.
“Hi boys. So which one of you wants to die first.”
Stephan took the only form that was advantageous to him, a wolfman. He used both sides of his coin. As he fought with some of the vampires he crushed the rest using his shield.
The fight wasn’t as long as he thought it would be, but it was bloody since he had resorted to tapping into their veins for his reinforcement. Stephan set their bodies ablaze once he was done. He thought of going after Marquis’s scent, but he wasn’t that good of a tracker. He decided to go back home, reassemble his little army. They had to replace Marquis before she killed Christina.
