“If it weren't for Lachlan, Romeo's family would have killed you! Now allwe're asking for is this small request, and yet you turn your back onus?" Cara asked angrily.

Because they were kicked out of the Lowe family, Cara and Emmanuellost their positions in the company as well. They had nothing to do athome while being idle.

They wanted to regain their shares and restore their original positionsnot only for money but also because they wanted something to do.Emmanuel and Cara were not short of money, but they were still youngat heart. Being idle made them go crazy.

He was mainly guilty himself and didn't know how else he could defendVictoria after what she had done this time. It was truly despicablebehavior from someone who should know better than anyone else howimportant family was.

"Mom, calm down," Mason also tried consoling them both while shakinghis head in disbelief at the situation they found themselves in.

Lachlan drove ahead of them silently listening until finally speaking up,"This was my fault. I never expected Mrs. Lowe would stoop so low.Next time...next time if we get another chance...I promise we'll makesure things end differently.”

As he spoke, there was an icy edge creeping into Lachlan’s voice as ifdaring anyone who crossed him or threatened those close to him, theywouldn't live long enough regretting their actions.

If only he knew earlier just how ruthless Victoria could be, then maybehe wouldn't have let Dale reveal their plans before they were ready.Now all they could do was wait for another opportunity where they'dmake sure everything ended decisively without any loose ends leftbehind — unless of course Victoria wanted death instead!

“I'm so angry!" Cara gritted her teeth.

Emmanuel let out a bitter laugh, opened his mouth to speak but thenheld back.

After separating from his in-laws and Mason, Lachlan received a callwhile driving Miranda home. It was Allison calling.

Glancing at the goddess CEO beside him, Lachlan hesitated for amoment before answering. "Allison? Is there something you need?"Lachlan asked with a smile, trying to sound as natural as possible.

"If there isn't anything wrong, can't I just call you?" Allison teased."Uh... no..." Lachlan chuckled awkwardly.

Allison laughed and then spoke with excitement and gratitude in hervoice. “Lachlan, today I took my mom for an examination! Do you knowwhat the doctor said to my mom?"

As she spoke, Allison imitated the doctor's tone of voice with someannoyance and impatience. "I told your mother that she doesn't haveany heart problems and asked why she spent so much money on a fullcheck-up? Does she have too much money to burn?"
