Chapter 217 Where did this Jade Pendant Comefrom?

"Do you need any help?" Lachlan asked with a smile as he approachedFox.

Sierra Munoz, also known as Fox, hesitated for a moment and thenturned to glance at Lachlan. She shook her head expressionlessly andsaid, "No thanks."

A hint of annoyance flickered in her eyes at Lachlan's poor attempt atflirting. She felt an inexplicable resistance towards him.

"What's your name? I heard you're from Lucoork West? Which factionare you from?"

Lachlan didn't seem to care and continued to ask with a smug look onhis face.

“I have nothing to say," Sierra replied coldly, furrowing her eyebrows. At that moment, Simeon walked over with several members of theDragon Sword Brigade. He approached Lachlan with a sternexpression and asked sharply, "What are you doing here, Willis?"Damn it! Someone was actually trying to hit on Fox? This guy had nomanners! The other members looked at Lachlan with disdainful eyes asif they were looking at a frivolous womanizer.

"We're all comrades now. What's wrong with exchanging some words?I heard this beautiful lady is also an outsider like me in the DragonSword Brigade. We have something in common, don't we?" Lachlansmiled and said confidently.

"How shameless can you be?! Who do you think has anything incommon with you?"

“I'm telling you, this isn't society where hitting on every pretty girl isacceptable! Fox is now one of us in the Dragon Sword Brigade sowatch your step!" warned the other members of the brigade whilepointing their fingers accusingly at him.

“Lachlan... just let it go..." Stephen stepped forward along with otherstrying to calm him down before things got out of hand. They neverexpected that he would really come over here just for small talk.

They were speechless...

At this moment, Sierra furrowed her brows, glanced at Lachlan, thenturned around and walked away, swiftly heading towards the depths ofthe mountains. It seemed she didn't want to stay here and become thefocal point of the dispute among these men.

Lachlan hesitated for a moment but quickly followed suit.

Simeon and several Dragon Sword Brigade members lookedastonished, and then their expressions turned somewhat annoyed.Stephen and the others were sweating profusely. Was Lachlan not onlytrying to strike up a conversation but also pursuing her in earnest?"Captain, should we follow them?"

"I never thought Eduard would replace such an immoral person as theiroutsider?"

"Ughh.. his skin is so thick!"

Several members sneered contemptuously.

Simeon looked at Lachlan with disdain and annoyance, shaking hishead. "No need, this kid won't win her over. Fox won't pay him anyattention!”

Since joining the Dragon Sword Brigade, there had been people in theteam who had pursued her.

Including Simeon, the captain, who was also an admirer of Fox.

But no matter who it was, Fox never showed any interest or paidattention to them.

So Simeon didn't believe that Lachlan's clumsy way of pursuing wouldwin over Fox's favor.

Fox's look of disgust just now said it all.

If this guy didn't know what was good for him, he might even be taughta lesson by Fox.

Simeon knew that Fox was much stronger than him as a captain.Sierra ran far away and stopped in a valley after taking several deepbreaths. She sat cross-legged and prepared to practice breathingexercises.

The Priocia military had always had a tradition of recruiting expertsfrom various martial arts families and sects. After confirming theirloyalty, some joined the army as external aid while others becamemembers of certain secret special organizations.

Sierra entered the Dragon Sword Brigade in this way.

She came from Kagyu School in Lucoork West which had its ownunique way of practicing.

Even when traveling with the army, she still practiced during her freetime.

Now in this mountainous area feeling the richness of spiritual energybetween heaven and earth, she found a place to meditate.

At this moment, her hair hung down lightly exuding an unparalleledethereal temperament.

Her beautiful profile was exquisite enough to make one dizzy withadmiration but then her eyebrows furrowed again next second as shecoldly looked towards one direction.

"Are you annoying me?" Sierra stood up and asked Lachlan coldly ashe chased after her.

She had regarded Lachlan as someone with improper intentionstowards her, a frivolous person. However, this time, the man's face wasdevoid of expression, the smile that accompanied his earlier flirtationwith her now absent. His starry eyes, instead, radiated an intimidatingchill, firmly fixed on Sierra.

Lachlan walked towards Sierra and, without saying a word, reached outand grabbed the collar of her clothing.

Snap!

A crisp sound rang out!

Sierra slapped Lachlan hard across his face!

She covered her collarbone with her hands glaring angrily at Lachlaneven revealing killing intent!

"Asshole!"

"You bastard, how dare you lay a hand on me! You're asking for death!"In the next second, her face changed and she angrily realized that thejade pendant around her neck was gone.

The jade pendant was now in Lachlan's hands.

With Sierra's strength, it was surprising that she didn't notice it earlierand let this man get away with it so easily.

Lachlan stared at the jade pendant with an uncertain expression on hisface.

The shape of the pendant was identical to his family's Dragon-shapedJade Pendant, only much smaller in size. The familiar gentle faceappeared in Lachlan's mind. It was the most beautiful face he had everseen.

"Tell me! Where did you get this jade pendant?"

Lachlan finally took his gaze off of the pendant and looked at Sierrawith a murderous glint in his eyes.

Sierra hesitated for a moment. She didn't expect this man who had justbeen flirting with her to suddenly turn hostile towards her over a pieceof jewelry. Was he not interested in her after all? Was his target reallyjust the jade pendant?

“I have nothing to say.” Sierra said coldly with anger and resentmentevident in her voice.

"Speak up or I'll kill you!"

“I will really kill you!"

Lachlan held onto the warm jade as if he could still feel its heat. Butnow it no longer belonged to his mother but instead belonged to thisstrange woman before him which filled him with an inexplicable rage. This jade pendant was the token of love that Lachlan's father had givento his mother. His mother cherished it as if it were her life.

From childhood to adulthood, Lachlan remembered her always wearingit close to her heart, never parting with it. Why? Why did his mother'spendant end up in someone else's possession? Where was hismother?

A sense of panic overwhelmed Lachlan as he felt himself beingconsumed by anger and hatred towards Sierra.
