Chapter 37 If you don't teach, I will teach.

The living room door was pushed open and Lachlan walked in with aserious expression. Inside the room, besides Miranda and her hiredservant, there were a middle-aged couple and a young woman. Allthree of them were dressed elegantly with an air of superiority aboutthem.

It was clear that they were used to living a life of luxury. The middle-aged couple turned out to be Miranda's uncle Romeo and his wife Eliza,while the young woman was Miranda's cousin Harlow Lowe.

When they saw Lachlan enter, the family trio looked surprised for amoment before sizing him up with condescension.

"So you're the gigolo my cousin just found?" Harlow raised an eyebrowas she spoke, looking at Lachlan as if he were livestock bought from themarket.

Although members of the Lowe family had heard about Miranda'sfiancé who seemed to have some skills - taking down Rex and killingseven assassins - it wasn't enough to impress them.

Being good at fighting didn't mean anything in terms of social status;those so-called experts who could take on ten men alone often endedup being hired as bodyguards or lackeys by people with money andpower.

"You should probably call me your brother-in-law,” Lachlan said coldly,feeling annoyed by Harlow's attitude. "Brother-in-law? Hilarious, you'renot even worthy!" Harlow sneered, her face full of disdain.

Romeo and Eliza were so arrogant that they didn't even look at Lachlanin the eye. They just turned to Miranda and said, "Miranda, you've beenpretending to be engaged to this kind of man several times. It'sridiculous behavior and a challenge to Mr. Austin and the Austin family!Our family has given you two years to struggle, which is our greatesttolerance for you.”

"Today your grandmother sent us here with her message: either kickthis man out or apologize personally to Mr. Austin.”

"Once you completely offend the Austin family because of you,everyone in our family will suffer!” Harlow said in a sarcastic tone, tryingto sound righteous. "You can't be so selfish as a person!"

"Why don't you marry?"Miranda asked coldly.

"You..." Harlow was blocked and felt angry inside. She wanted to getmarried too, but Isa didn't like her.

Although Harlow was also beautiful, there was still some gap betweenher and Miranda in terms of temperament and aura. Isa didn't lackbeautiful women either; he only wanted to conquer strong and coldqueens like Miranda, which he had no interest in Harlow.

"Miranda, stop talking nonsense here. If this happened to Harlow, shewould definitely be more sensible than you. Even if she doesn't want itherself, she would make sacrifices for the entire family. "Don't pretend! Hmph!" Eliza saw her daughter looking down andcouldn't help but make a cutting remark. She acted as if she was on amoral high ground, silently cursing Miranda for being selfish.

The words were harsh and hurtful

Miranda's pretty face turned red with anger. Her eyes betrayed her fury,but she wasn't one to argue with others. She trembled with rageinstead.

"Aren't you supposed to be an elder? How can you insult someoneyounger like a shrew? You'll never amount to anything in your life."Lachlan couldn't bear it anymore and stepped in. He felt sorry forMiranda, who was facing this family of three all alone while feeling sohumiliated.

After all, he was technically her husband now. Could he just stand byand watch?

Eliza's expression became stern as she pointed at Lachlan and scoldedhim, "Do you have the right to speak here?"

Romeo snorted coldly while staring at Lachlan with dark eyes.

Harlow raised her hand and slapped him across the face withouthesitation. "You bastard! Who let you bark like that?"

She had been upset after being confronted by Miranda earlier, so sheneeded an outlet for her frustration.

As soon as Lachlan spoke, Harlow found her outlet for venting

In her eyes, Lachlan was nothing more than Miranda's lapdog, at best aslightly ferocious one.

The Lowe family didn't see him as human next to this fake fiancé ofMiranda's.

Wanting to hit and curse was just a matter of course.

How could she possibly hit or even touch Lachlan now?

He dodged with a tilt of his body and avoided it altogether.

“If I hit you, you dog dare to dodge? Do you believe I'll make youdisappear?" Harlow fumed in anger after missing the slap again.

She raised her hand once more.

Smack!

This time the sound of a crisp slap echoed through the air. But it wasHarlow who held her face and stumbled back.

"You..." she shouted in disbelief while holding onto her cheek."Miranda, how dare you slap me?"

"Bang!"

Miranda with a cold expression, emitted an invisible aura from herbody, and then slapped Harlow again.

"Miranda, you're going the wrong way! What do you want to do?"Romeo was furious when he saw his daughter being beaten.

Eliza supported her daughter, "Harlow, how are you? Does it hurt?"

As she spoke, she pointed at Miranda's nose and scolded, "You actuallyfought for an outsider against your cousin, are you crazy!"

"Lachlan is my husband, not an outsider! Harlow insulted and abusedher own brother-in-law. If you don't teach her, as her elder sister, I willteach her how to behave!" Miranda said in a cold voice, thedomineering aura of the female CEO was fully demonstrated.
