Chapter 53 Make him kneel down andapologize

As Lachlan and Miranda entered the old mansion, they saw two figuresengaged in a fierce battle in the courtyard. The Lowe family andJosiah's group were seated on opposite sides, watching the fight.Charlie Lowe, the guardian of the Lowe family, was fighting againstBlack King Kong. Charlie was an orphan who had been adopted andtrained by the Lowe family since childhood. He was fiercely loyal tothem and equally skilled as a beginner in Dark Force Realm.

When everyone noticed Miranda and Lachlan approaching, all eyesturned towards them.

"You dare to come here, you bastard!" Josiah snarled at Lachlan uponseeing him.

The other members of the Lowe family also looked at him curiously.Except for Mason and Romeo's families, including Miranda's parentswho were meeting him for the first time.

Emmanuel and Cara looked at him coldly with undisguised contemptdespite not agreeing to their daughter marrying someone outside theircircle. Even though they had heard that he knew some martial arts skillsthey still considered him nothing more than a servant or gigolo in theireyes.

Victoria gave him a cold look full of malice as she said mockingly, "Ohlook who it is? The little gigolo has arrived?”

Harlow sneered at Lachlan with a sarcastic tone. Eliza grinned but didn'tlaugh as she turned to Miranda and said, "Miranda, you said youwanted a dependable boy toy. This guy is nothing but trouble! He justgot here and already caused problems for the family! And he did it allfor another woman by offending Tiger's son. You don't even knowabout it yet, do you?"

Right off the bat, Eliza was trying to stir up trouble.

Miranda remained expressionless as she replied, "I know about it. Butthat was just Lachlan standing up for his friend. It's what friends do.”Lachlan had already explained everything to her that day.

In truth, he hadn't really been defending Reeva; Josiah had slapped himfirst without provocation.

"You know? And yet you still defend him? Are you really that taken inby this smooth talker?" Victoria asked coldly as she tapped her cane onthe ground.

"Grandma, things aren't like that,” Miranda tried to explain.

But Victoria waved her hand dismissively and said, "We'll talk about thislater after the fight is over. If Charlie loses then I'll let Mr. Webb takehim away. No one else is allowed to say anything!"

With those words spoken firmly by the matriarch of the Lowe familywho never wavered from her decisions once made - no one dared defyher - Mason's eyes flickered uncertainly before he decided not to arguewith his grandmother directly.

Miranda pursed her lips anxiously and looked towards her youngerbrother with worry etched in her beautiful eyes.

Once the old lady had spoken, it was clear that if Charlie lost, the Lowefamily would hand Lachlan over to Tiger's men and wouldn't protecthim anymore. Miranda could only hope that her brother could keepLachlan safe.

To everyone else, even though Lachlan had single-handedly takendown seven assassins before, they were all at most in the Bright ForceRealm. However, Black King Kong under Tiger's command was a masterof Dark Force. If Lachlan fell into his hands, it would be very dangerous!Mason gave his sister a reassuring look. He had already planned thatonce they took away Lachlan, he would have his men rescue him assoon as they left the old mansion.

At this moment, while Miranda was nervous and worried about whatmight happen to Lachlan next, he himself seemed calm and relaxed ashe watched the fight unfold

"Honey," said Lachlan with surprise in his voice as he watched on. "Inever thought your family would be so kind to me and actually protectme."

Before anyone could respond to him, however Emmanuel snortedcoldly, "You're just an ignorant fool who doesn't know any better! Doyou really think that my family will protect you? We fought hard for thisopportunity by Mason!"

Lachlan made a sound of acknowledgement before turning towardsMiranda's parents.

Miranda then remembered to make introductions, "This is my dad, andmy mom."

Lachlan chuckled and called out, "Thanks, parents-in-law!"

"Who's your parents-in-law? Don't get too cozy. We just don't want tolose face for the Lowe family and make people think we're scared ofTiger," Cara, the supposed mother-in-law, raised her eyebrows and saidwith a touch of annoyance.

"Mother-in-law, you're quite young and pretty yourself. I thought youwere Miranda's sister! No wonder you could give birth to such abeautiful daughter.” Lachlan didn't get angry and replied with a smile.Hearing this, Cara's voice faltered for a moment as she gave Lachlan anangry glare. However, deep down inside she couldn't help but feelpleased.

There wasn't any woman who didn't like being complimented on theiryouthfulness and beauty.

"You smooth talker!" Emmanuel also had a cold expression as hescolded Lachlan.

However, he couldn't help but take another look at Lachlan with moreinterest in his eyes.

If Lachlan was like the previous two men they met before - submissivein front of them - then they would only look down on him even more.Now that this guy was so open-minded and even has time to chat withthem casually, which made Emmanuel think highly of him.

Plus there wasn't any man who didn't enjoy hearing compliments abouttheir wife's beauty either.

Lachlan's words were music to Emmanuel’ ears...

"I'm just speaking the truth!" Lachlan laughed; his words weren't wrongeither.

Cara was able to give birth to such a beautiful daughter because sheherself was once considered rare beauty when she was young; plusliving comfortably all these years naturally helped her maintain herlooks well.

She looked like a beautiful woman in her thirties.

"Hmph, you ignorant fool! Even at death's door, you still have the nerveto talk back!" Romeo sneered.

"At death's door? Romeo, are you joking? With their fighting style, whoknows when they'll be able to determine a winner?" Lachlan shook hishead and said after watching for a while.

"Ha... who do you think you are? Do you have the qualifications toevaluate the fight between two dark force masters?” Harlow mocked.However, before she could finish speaking, Charlie and Black King Kongcollided again and stopped at the same time.

Harlow's tone faltered and her expression became somewhatembarrassed. "Hmph! Our family is indeed full of hidden talents. I didn'texpect them to fight hundreds of rounds without determining awinner."

Black King Kong snorted coldly and said with some frustration, "Iconcede!"

Charlie wasn't good with words but he arched his hand in respect,"Thank You."

"Damn it! Why don't you guys continue?! How can there not be awinner after so many rounds?" Josiah shouted unwillingly.

With bitterness in his heart, Josiah shot a resentful glance towardsLachlan, secretly yearning to capture him, take him back, and subjecthim to torture to vent his anger.

Victoria furrowed her brows; after all, they were in the Lowe family'sdomain, and Josiah's outbursts and profanity were unsettling to her."They are evenly matched, and if we insist on picking sides, it will likelylead to serious injuries or worse. How about this, Mr. Webb, I'll haveLachlan apologize to you, kneel and slap himself to calm your anger.We can put this matter to rest. What do you think?" she suggested."Grandma!" Miranda's face immediately changed, and she exclaimed inurgency.

"Shut up! Kneeling is better than dying! If you don't know when to backdown, I'll just hand him over!" Victoria sternly scolded.
