Daddy's Little Whore
Daddy’s Little Whore – Part 70

KEIRA’s POV

I stared at my digital clock, which was propped on my bedside table, with a cup of hot, steaming coffee in my hands. I took a sip from the cup, feeling the bitter yet sweet taste of the coffee lingering on my tongue.

The time on the clock read 6:12 am. I was never up this early, considering that Clint had dropped me back so late. I did not want Papa to know about us just yet, so I asked that he drop me off at the apartment I shared with Natasha instead.

Normally, it would have been impossible for me to be up so early in the morning, but today was important. Brendon was leaving the town today for his exchange program. When I heard the news, I was greatly disheartened. Brandon was one of my best friends, my lover one time, and we hung out every time we could.

The fact that I would not be able to see him for a while was heartbreaking. Seeing as this would be the last time I would see him in a long while, I offered to drive him to the airport. Natasha had agreed to come with me so that we could both see him off.

I giggled to myself as I recalled how Natasha was. She was not the type to care much or have sappy feelings for her friends, which was why I was extremely surprised when she offered to come with me.

I sighed to myself and took a gulp out of my coffee. It felt nice the way the hot liquid made me feel warm inside. I looked at the digital clock again, and some minutes had passed.

I began to worry.

Brendon told me his flight was scheduled for 7 am, and it would take us about twenty minutes to get to the airport. As I pulled out my phone to give him a call, I heard the door to my bedroom creak open.

I placed my phone down and turned around to check who it was. Of course, it was Natasha. Who else did I live with?

“Keira! Wake up, sleepy head!” I heard Natasha bellow as she stormed in.

I rolled my eyes as she stopped short in shock, seeing me up already. She was already dressed, with a cup of coffee in hand. I folded my hand over my chest and gave her a stern look.

“I know we share the apartment, but you keep barging into my room like you own the place. Did you miss doing that so much?” I teased with a grin on my lips.

She had a mischievous smile on her face when she responded, “Oh, so you are awake. I thought you’d still be in bed snoring. You only spent a night, and I can’t wait for you to leave already.” She giggled.

“Well, I can’t afford to do that today, now, can I?”

Natasha took a sip from her steaming mug and nodded.

“Yeah, today is quite important,” she said, with a wistful look in her eyes.

I smirked and walked over to her, shoving my elbows into her sides.

“You know, you do not have to put up a tough act. I know you are going to miss Brendon just as much as I will,”

Natasha went saucer-eyed for a while and then shrugged.

“Not really. It is not like he is just going to disappear off the face of the earth. We definitely will see him again, won’t we?”

I chuckled.

“You are right, but I will still miss him while he is gone, you know.”

Natasha did not say a word after that and quickly took a sip of her coffee. There was this look in her eyes, one I could not put my finger on. Was it sadness? I could not tell.

“Hey, are you-“

The sound of my ringtone cut me short, and I breezed to my bedside table, swooping my phone up from the top of it.

“Hey! Brandon! Where are you? You will miss your flight!” I yelled into the phone.

“Hey, hey, take it easy. I am at your gate.”

I threw my phone to the bed immediately and wore my jacket. I ran down the stairs and all the way to the kitchen.

“Brendon is here! We need to leave before he misses his flight!” I informed Natasha.

In a rush, we both bolted out of the house, and Brendon was standing right there outside my gate, a large piece of luggage by his side.

“You are late!” I beamed as I opened up the gate for him.

“My bad, I did some last-minute packing,” he said with an apologetic grin.

I laughed it off, and we all hopped into the car. I drove down the road at a considerable speed, hoping we would get to the airport in time for his flight. All the while we were in the car, Brendon and I laughed and conversed, but Natasha was strangely quiet.

I took a glance at her through the rearview mirror and saw that she had that wistful look on her face, but I shrugged it off as her being saddened at Brendon’s departure.

We got to the airport just in time for his flight. We all got down from the car and escorted him to the waiting area. Brandon turned to us, a smile on his face, but his eyes filled with sadness.

“Damn, I did not think I would miss you guys this much,” he said with a chuckle.

“Well, we will miss you too,” I turned to Natasha. “Right, Natasha?”

She flushed and turned her eyes away from Brandon.

“Not really. As long as you will be back eventually,” she muttered and folded her arms.

I giggled at her peculiar behaviour. I turned back to Brendon, and he pulled me into an embrace. I hugged him back as my heart filled with sadness.

“I am going to miss you, Brendon,” I said softly.

“Me too,” he withdrew from me and gave me a pat on the head. “Make sure you take good care of yourself before I get back.”

I nodded with a smile. Brendon turned away from us and began to walk towards the counter. I turned back to Natasha, only to replace her face twisted into a frown.

“Hey, are you okay?” I asked, touching her arm in concern.

Natasha turned away from me and began walking back to the car. And then it hit me like a boulder. Natasha was jealous.
