Chapter 122: Taking Responsibility

The immediate concern for Olivia and the girls was to get Zane to safety, and there was only one place they knew that was safe in this cruel world. They immediately sprinted towards the bunker. Luckily for the party, Eliza had ceased her pursuit out of unfounded fears regarding Zane's potential association with her mother.

Because of this, they were not followed back to their base of operations, nor did they try to evade pursuers. Zane was at 10 HP, which was at critical levels, and had passed out from the sheer amount of damage he had taken.

If he were any other human being, he would have bled to death by now, but for whatever reason, his wounds were not leaking bodily fluids. In fact, the blood sealed the massive holes in Zane's body. A peculiar effect, but one clearly associated with his ability to control his own blood.

Because of this, Zane hovered at HP while he lay comatose on his bed. Until now, Angelica had never had cause to use her skill, but she did not hesitate to do so for Zane, in fact she was overly emotional, crying profusely as she held her hands over Zane's body, and spread green light across it.

"Don't die! Don't leave us Zane!"

Elena and Olivia were in an equally emotional state as Angelica, all of which were sobbing and saying their silent prayers for Zane's good health. Quite rapidly, the wounds began to seal themselves, and any marks on his body that were not supposed to be there, any blood stains disappeared.

When Angelica wiped her eyes, after the green light had disappeared from her hands, and Zane's body, she saw that his HP had been fully restored. The man was, in effect, completely healed from his near death experience.

Yet he did not awaken, instead he lie there on the bed, without any sign of consciousness, causing Elena and Olivia to freak out.

"What's going on? His wounds are healed, but he's still asleep. Don't tell me Zane is in a coma?"

Angelica honestly did not know the answer, either. It's not like she had much experience with her skill, as until now nobody had been wounded enough for her to use it. Because of this, she shook her head, crying still as she herself panicked over Zane's comatose state.

"I don't know! He should be fully healed! His HP is fully restored, yet he's still sleeping! What do we do?"

The girls sat there proposing ideas to wake Zane up. They slapped him across the face, hollered at him, and did just about everything they could think of, yet he did not stir in the slightest. Causing them to only panic further.

Eventually Angelica blushed in embarrassment over her idea of how to wake Zane and shifted her eyes from the other girls while speaking it in a shameful tone.

"Maybe… Maybe our Prince needs a kiss from a Princess to waken him from his slumber?"

It was perhaps the most absurd idea anybody could have posed in this scenario. There was no logic or reason behind it. Yet Olivia and Elena both nodded their heads, agreeing with this fairy tale like solution to their current predicament.

Without saying a word, Olivia leaned in to kiss the sleeping Zane, when she was immediately pulled back by Elena, who argued with her over who had the right to kiss the slumbering "Prince"

"And just what makes you think you are Zane's princess? Have you forgotten your age, you old hag? If anyone should kiss Zane, it should be me?"

Olivia's eyes narrowed when her lips curled into a smug grin as she lectured Elena on her arrogance.

"Oh, please? Miss, I'm going to take the front lines with my Katana. Do you really think you have the grace of a princess? I'd say you more likely have the demeanor of a butcher!"

Elena was outraged by this statement, and a catfight broke out. Causing Madison to sigh and shake her head. She was not nearly as emotional over this situation as the others were, as she had only known Zane for three days at the most, and her impression of him was not exactly good.

However, while the two beauties bickered, Angelica blushed, thinking this an opportunity for herself, she leaned in and stole the kiss from Olivia and Elena shocking the two women as they glared at the busty blonde bimbo as if she had done something reprehensible towards them.

Shockingly, Angelica's kiss seemed to work, as Zane's black eyes opened the moment Angelica's lips touched his own. Confused and startled by the fact that Angelica was kissing him, Zane immediately pushed her away, accidentally touching her massive breasts and pressing upon them as he did so, all while screaming in uncertainty about what was happening right now.

"What? What the hell is going on? Where am I? Why is Angelica kissing me?"

Angelica blushed as she averted her gaze from Zane, and the two women who were glaring at her as if she were their arch enemy, while placing a hand to her bosom, and another to her cheek she spoke words that everyone surrounding her found scandalous.

"That was my first kiss… You're going to take responsibility, right, Zane?"

In perhaps the largest display of emotion that Zane had shown in years, the man's mouth dropped as he uttered a single sound of confusion. One that was loud enough to reverberate throughout the subterranean bunker.

"Huh?"

While Zane was still trying to replace out just what had happened to him, as his memories were a jumble, Angelica was grabbed hold of by Olivia and Elena, who berated her for trying to steal their man. All the while, she crossed her arms beneath her massive bosom and pouted, defending her actions in a shameless manner.

A cat fight of epic proportions erupted while Madison snickered in the background at Zane's "misfortune." Though she was surprised by Angelica's sudden boldness, she found Zane's dismayed expression to be nothing short of hilarious.

Thus, immediately after coming back to the land of the living, Zane would have to maneuver through the complex world of female emotions. All the while, his enemies plotted against him above the surface in a post-apocalyptic world.
