Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode -
Chapter 1972
Zoey held the pill between her fingers and continued, "Open up, take your medicine."
Fitch leaned against the headboard, his eyes closed, his Adam's apple bobbing, sweat dripping down his forehead in beads. "Fitch?"
No response came from him.
Zoey's concern grew. She gently wiped his sweat away with a towel, her voice softening considerably.
"Feeling that bad?"
Fitch opened his eyes, a hazy look in them, and pointed to his throat, "Here."
His demeanor, so much like Nolan's, made Zoey's heart soften further as she wiped the sweat from his neck.
"Take the medicine, and you'll feel better."
"I won't."
After these three words, he closed his eyes again.
Zoey sensed something was seriously off. It reminded her too much of Nolan.
Frowning, she gently slapped his face.
"Wake up, take the medicine. Since when are you this stubborn when sick?"
Fitch pursed his lips, stubbornly refusing the medicine.
Eventually, Zoey pinched his chin and forced the pill into his mouth, then leaned in, using her tongue to push it down.
The pill slid smoothly down his throat. He opened his eyes, his cheeks flushing even more.
Zoey picked up a glass of water, about to help him drink, when she heard him say, "Miss, why'd you kiss me?"
The glass fell from her hand, shattering on the floor.
"What did you say?"
"Why'd you kiss me, Miss? Isn't that illegal?"
At that moment, Zoey was sure he was delirious from the fever, yet she was deeply worried about his condition.
"And who are you right now?"
"Greenfield Preschool's Fitch!"
"Fitch, student."
"Present!"
Zoey struggled to keep a straight face, a slight smile betraying her.
"Nap time, sleep now."
"Okay."
Fitch curled up, quickly lying down on the bed.
After covering him with a blanket and about to leave, Zoey saw him still looking at her.
"Fitch, student?"
"Present!"
"Why aren't you sleeping?"
"My head's spinning."
"It'll stop if you close your eyes."
Holding back a chuckle at her own words and seeing the feverish flush on his cheeks, Zoey sighed.
"You're the class president; set an example and sleep."
Fitch glanced at her face, then suddenly raised his hand, touching his lips.
"Kiss me, then I'll sleep."
With no other option, Zoey kissed his lips lightly, "Sleep now."
And he did close his eyes.
She got up, went to the bathroom to wash up, and when she returned, the room was silent.
Glancing at the IV drip beside the bed, Zoey decided to lie down next to him, even setting an alarm for herself.
No sooner had she laid down than Fitch moved closer.
Zoey, worried about the needle in his hand, quickly held him down.
"Don't move."
"Miss, I feel bad."
"If you're dizzy, you need to rest."
"It's not dizziness."
His other hand, not the one with the needle, cautiously placed outside the blanket, grabbed her hand and placed it over his groin. "It hurts."
Zoey's hand stiffened, suddenly at a loss for words.
She lowered her eyelashes, pondering for a while before gently holding on.
For the sake of his illness, she decided not to make a fuss.
The room's light was off, leaving only the bedside lamp on. The silence was broken only by Fitch's deep breathing.
Zoey thought nothing of it at first, but in the quiet of the night, listening to his breaths, she felt the situation becoming too much to handle. "Fitch, student."
"Present."
"Are you okay now?"
"Not yet."
