Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode -
Chapter 1974
Jack had devoured every inch of Zoey, not once but thrice, leaving no part of her untouched.
As they lazed around into the afternoon, Jack was eager for another round when Zoey, with cheeks flushed and not a patch of skin unblemished, slapped him without hesitation. "Look at the time! Aren't you concerned about Nolan at all?" she gritted her teeth in frustration.
What kind of parents sleep till the afternoon?
Jack, drenched in sweat, pleaded with her, playing dumb to continue.
"One last time, honey, I promise."
Zoey wished she could kick him off the bed.
But drained, she eventually drifted back to sleep.
Upon waking, the room was shrouded in darkness.
She noticed Jack and Nolan sitting at the bedside table, Nolan engrossed in a book while Jack worked on his laptop, the chaos of earlier tidied up, leaving no trace of their afternoon's abandon. Dressed in fresh pajamas, the sight of the twilight sky casting a glow on their faces warmed her heart unexpectedly.
Jack was the first to notice she was awake, closing his laptop.
"Awake? Hungry?"
Her stomach answered before she could, echoing loudly.
He hurried downstairs and returned with a plate of food. "Eat something before you sleep again."
Abandoning any pretense, Zoey started to eat, spoonful after spoonful.
Jack wiped her mouth gently with a napkin, his actions tender.
Remembering the morning's events made Zoey uneasy, her defenses lowered from caring for him the previous night and inquiring about his childhood with lan.
Seeing the calm father and son duo by the window, she felt a surge of happiness.
After eating, Zoey sat motionless on the bed.
Jack began to massage her legs, aware of his overindulgences, thinking it might be his last chance.
Zoey shook her head, her gaze shifting to Nolan.
"What book are you reading, Nolan?"
Nolan showed her the cover, his eyes gleaming for praise.
It was an interview with Jack from a finance magazine, revealing his deep admiration for both his parents.
Zoey realized if she was to stay, it had to be wholeheartedly, for half-heartedness would only bring misery to all.
"You really adore your dad, huh? Not missing a single interview."
Nolan's expression turned serious, "Dad's cool, I like him."
Zoey tousled his hair lovingly.
His affection and dependence were proof of Jack's dedication over the years.
"Mom, you like us too, right? Like a family."
Zoey paused, her eyes downcast, avoiding the question.
Jack took Nolan back to the table, "Let your mom rest, she's tired today."
"Okay."
Nolan resumed his magazine, allowing Jack to return to Zoey's side, promising moderation in the future.
Zoey's frustration was palpable, recalling his relentless pursuit despite her pleas.
"Just go kneel outside."
No sooner had she spoken than Jack knelt by the bed, his compliance surprising her.
"Zoey, please understand, I thought it was my last chance."
