Chapter 288

She initially thought of introducing him to other socialites from Greenfield, but now, even knowing he

was allergic to dog hair, he still accompanied Carlene to the pet clinic. It seemed he still couldn’t forget

their shared past.

But how did Maja know that lan was with Carlene at the pet clinic?

Is that darn woman stalking lan?

Frowning, Selena shot Maja a message.

“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to. Stay away from lan; you two are heading for a split sooner

or later. Even if you throw yourself at lan, he won’t take the bait.”

That was a harsh remark.

Looking at the message, Maja’s face darkened even more.

“Ms. Casson, don’t worry. I will stay far away from Mr. Raymond.”

Selena scoffed. She’d better keep her word, or she wouldn’t hold back on the Pennyfeathers.

An hour later, the anesthesia wore off, and the doctor instructed Maja on the medication.

“This is the medication for the wound; apply it three times a day. The weather is getting warmer, so I’m

worried about the possibility of an infection.”

Maja frowned. She had so much on her plate these days. She had to deal with her father’s affairs,

Greenfield Gardens, and wait for the police investigation results on Wyatt. She didn’t have the energy

to look after Coco.

With lan at Rosewood Manor, it was even less likely to send Coco back.

“Miss Penny, if you don’t have time to apply the medicine, you can leave Coco here at the hospital. It’s

a bit pricier, but we have professionals who could take care of her.”

Maja let out a sigh of relief and immediately paid.

Before leaving, she went in to see Coco.

Coco, knowing her owner had come to visit, struggled to get up.

Maja patted Coco’s head. Coco was clingy, probably because she hadn’t seen her for so long and was

bored enough to swallow a stone.

It seemed she had to tell Maria to get rid of the pebbles in the garden; otherwise, this problem could

happen again, and it would be uncomfortable for everyone.

It was past midnight and Maja was getting sleepy, so she drove to RosenGarden.

There was still trash at her apartment door, thrown deliberately by the woman who had a grudge

against Leo Elston. The smell was awful.

Maja held back her disgust, opened the door, and shut everything else out.

Across from her apartment, Rita hadn’t slept. She heard movement in the hallway and knew Maja was

back.

She snickered and sent a message to the woman who had caused trouble last time.

When that woman came to cause trouble before, Rita felt like she had found an ally. She was so rowdy,

even the management couldn’t handle her. Maja was in for some trouble!

Leah had been looking for Leo, but he had disappeared.

Leah had finally gotten Leo’s attention, but before anything could happen, he was taken away.

She hated Maja, but apart from having people dump trash at Maja’s door every day, she had no other

means of annoying her.

After receiving Rita’s message, Leah immediately came to the building and started banging on Maja’s

door.

“Come out! Where did you hide Leo?!”

“Come out! You slut! Don’t think I don’t know you’re back!”

Maja had just finished showering and was about to go to bed when she heard the commotion.

She knew immediately that Rita must have told Leah; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been here so

quickly.

Last time she went to the police station with Leah and her unscrupulous demeanor was frightening.

Lots of yelling was coming

from outside, much of it from the tenants downstairs, who were disturbed by Leah’s knocking.

But she didn’t care and argued with anyone who came her way.

Soon, Maja was infamous in the building. Everyone thought she had stolen Leah’s husband.

Maja didn’t want to call the police anymore. It was useless against people like Leah. Last time, Leah’s

husband had come to the police station to pick her up. She didn’t know if contacting her husband would

work.

She didn’t need to replace out where Leah lived; Leah had already told her.

That night, Maja put on headphones and got a good night’s sleep.

When she woke up the next day and confirmed that there was no one outside, she opened the door.

The trash was still piled up at the door. Just as she opened the door, Rita was also leaving her

apartment. Seeing her and the trash at the door, Rita rolled her eyes.

“Look at the mess you’ve brought. The trash in the hallway is affecting me too. Can’t you lure fewer

men?”
