Chapter 436

Selena didn’t see it coming that Maja, would pull such a stunt; her eyes oozed with disdain.

“Her true colors are plain as day.”

“A lesson learned could do her some good, so she doesn’t think she can run wild in the Raymond

family just because of Holden’s pampering.”

They were chilling, sipping their tea, and munching on fruit in the villa.

Meanwhile, Maja was out in the yard, kneeling under the scorching sun.

The sun was blazing, and the ground was so hot she could fry an egg. The thin fabric was no match for

the heat, burning Maja’s knees. She was sweating bullets, struggling to hold it together.

It was September, the hottest month of the year. The outdoor temperature was hitting the 30s, and the

ground was almost 60 degrees Celsius. Maja was on her knees for two hours, her face as palé as a

ghost.

Finally, Edith was worried that Maja might faint and create a ruckus with Holden.

So, when Maja seemed on the verge of collapsing, she sighed, “You can go now. But remember, keep

your trap shut when it’s supposed to be.” That was a clear warning to Maja not to blabber in front of

Holden:

Maja slowly stood up, but her legs were numb from kneeling for too long, and she nearly took a tumble.

She did take it to heart, regretting giving away such a precious painting.

“Alright, Grandma Edith.”

As Maja turned to leave, Edith signaled to the servant, who grabbed the painting from Maja’s hand and

ripped it in half.

Maja’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Grandma Edith, still holding her tea cup, maintained her haughty posture.

“No matter how hard you try to suck up to me, it won’t work. Ian will never fall for you.”

“Grandma Edith.” Maja’s voice trembled, suddenly stern.

She snatched the painting from the servant, and seeing her master’s painstakingly created piece now

torn in two, it felt like a knife twisting in her heart! She carefully rolled up the painting and took a deep

breath. “You don’t have to worry about that; I’m not interested in lan either. I shouldn’t have come here

today; it just made us both uncomfortable. From now on, you don’t have to call me over anymore. I’m

outta here.”

Edith was taken aback, her eyes bulging.

But Maja didn’t give her a chance to respond; she just walked out.

Her tea cup dropped to the floor. Grandma Edith had to compose herself before asking the servant

shakily.

“What did she just say?”

The servant was also surprised but didn’t dare repeat what Maja said; he just lowered his head in

apprehension.

Grandma Edith was livid.

“Such attitude! Such behavior! She’s not worthy of lan!”

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She spun around and said, “I have to call lan; tell

him to divorce this woman ASAP!” When lan received the call, he was waiting for a traffic light.

He had been busy all week and kept thinking about the ring and Penny’s harsh “Get out“.)

His eyes were cold. He looked out the window, and there was Maja.

Maja had pulled her car over to the side.

After leaving the Raymond family, she had been trying to keep her emotions under control.

She found a relatively quiet place to park, got out of the car, and sat on a nearby chair.

But she suddenly felt nauseous, her face pale. She wanted to throw up, but nothing came out.

It was a really uncomfortable feeling.

lan originally didn’t want to pay attention to her, but when he saw her in this state, his knuckles turned

white.

He remembered the time they had sex, but she forgot everything when she woke up. Did she take the

morning–after pill at that time?
