Chapter 668

Who was next in line?

Maja was overshadowed by lan’s presence, and he had a painful grip on her chin.

lan looked down at her, his eyes filled with a mixture of emotions.

“Come in with me,” He let go of her.

Leaving her outside was far from safe.

With no other choice, Maja followed lan inside.

Inside sat a foreign woman accompanied by some top brass.

The entire conversation was conducted in a foreign language.

When it came down to it, the woman asked her own top brass to leave.

In the blink of an eye, it was just her and lan, and Maja sitting not too far away.

Maja didn’t join them at the table but found a nearby sofa to sit on.

The woman said something to lan in a low voice, too quiet for Maja to catch.

Then she heard lan’s voice, intentionally raising his pitch, “She’s just my secretary.”

No sooner had lan’s words fallen than the woman stood up, unhesitatingly slid into lan’s lap, wrapping her arms

around his neck.

She leaned in to whisper something into lan’s ear, golden hair cascading over his shoulder. Her actions were laden

with seduction.

lan was about to push her away, but seeing Maja from the corner of his eyes, he paused, and started to laugh out

loud with the woman

The woman’s red lips brushed against his ear from time to time, and she even draped herself all over him when she

laughed.

Unable to watch that any longer, Maja averted her gaze.

But she heard the woman’s husky voice, although in her thirties, she was well–preserved and still quite attractive.

“Mr. Raymond, there’s a lounge attached to this private room, I’d like to have a word with you in private.”

On hearing this, Maja tightened her grip on the documents in her hand.

She heard chairs moving, and the footsteps of two people standing up.

lan instructed her, “Don’t let anyone else in.”

It was as clear as daylight what he was up to.

Maja said nothing, sitting up straight.

It seemed as if lan was waiting for Maja to react in some way, lingering for a few minutes.

But Maja didn’t react at all, even averting her gaze to the door as if taking his instruction very seriously.

lan suddenly felt annoyed and followed the woman into the adjacent lounge.

The lounge was about twenty square meters, the woman tiptoed to kiss him but was stopped by lan’s hand.

Meanwhile, Maja heard a burst of high–pitched laughter and the sound of a table being hit.

She lowered her eyelids, silently waiting in the room for two hours.

When the two emerged, the woman’s hair was slightly disheveled, still wearing her Chanel–style jacket, her lipstick

was gone.

She smiled at lan, then left with her own top brass,

“Let’s go.”

lan moved towards Maja; his tone as flat as ever.

Maja was a bit dazed, but she tried to control herself and not think about anything else.

lan, walking in front of her, couldn’t resist himself from saying,

“Experiencing different people is indeed nice, Penny, you should know what I mean, right?”

His tone was somewhat satisfied, even traces of lipstick were visible on his white shirt collar.

Maja frowned, in that moment, she was filled with dissatisfaction and replied, “Mr. Raymond, you’re a busy man, it’s

only natural.“‘

lan knew this wasn’t exactly a compliment, but he chuckled lightly.

Once in the car, Maja sat opposite lan.

She could smell the perfume on him which likely came from his recent companion.

lan tightened his wrist as he said,

“You manage to juggle between men with ease. I occasionally enjoy the company of others, there’s nothing wrong

with that.”

“That has nothing to do with me, Mr. Raymond. You don’t need to show off in front of me.”

“Are you angry?”

Maja wondered what she had to be angry about.

She turned to look out the window, feeling him sit next to her.

“Maja, is your period over yet?”

Maja stiffened; her nostrils filled with the scent of another woman’s perfume.

She finally had enough, slamming the files onto lan’s head.

Papers scattered all over the car, layering the floor.

Maja opened the door next to her and immediately got off.

“Mr. Raymond, I really can’t do this job anymore, I quit. I don’t want to do it anymore”

Before becoming his secretary, she hadn’t signed up for meddling in his personal life.

Just as she was about to walk off, expecting lan to say something, the car door closed, cutting off their line of sight.

Maja’s nose tingled, she turned around and hailed a taxi to leave.
