Chapter 732

Maja reloaded the bullets, gun in hand, and headed to another floor.

The game’s seriously on now. These folks were all equipped with walkie–talkies probably blabbed about her location

to each other.

All she can do was stall for time. That way, the people downstairs can live a bit longer, and the folks outside can get

a chance to come in.

She headed straight to the seventeenth floor. This floor should have been completely swept by the kidnappers, not

a soul left.

Maja avoided the surrounding surveillance and found windows that could be opened.

She squatted down, carefully avoiding the patrol on this floor.

Just as she was about to continue searching the other rooms, she bumped into two guys.

“She’s here! Seventeenth floor! Grab her!”

Hearing them communicate, Maja made a break for it in the opposite direction. But the sound of gunshots followed

her, and bullets hit the ground by her feet to scare her.

She’s super chill right now, even managed to hide on top of a cabinet on this floor.

The cabinet was tall, and unless they looked up, they won’t replace her.

She held her breath and watched the two kidnappers rush in.

Maja’s gaze was cold, but she’s also tried her best to stay calm.

Without any hesitation, she aimed and fired two bullets, hitting both guys in the head.

The kidnappers all fell, not knowing where she was hiding until their last breath.

Maja put down her gun and wiped the sweat off her palms.

She left the cabinet, not wanting to stay here any longer, and started to go downstairs.

The two guys from before had already reported her location, and the kidnappers will definitely be coming one after

another. If she continued to go upstairs, she’ll be forced into a dead–end at the top.

She took her gun and went downstairs, cautiously avoiding it, and arrived on the fifteenth floor.

In the surveillance room, there were several dead bodies, the smell of blood was thick in the air, and a man

wearing a mask sat on a chair, casually watching Maja’s occasional appearance.

The walkie–talkie next to him was still broadcasting the voices of other kidnappers, asking which floor Maja was on.

The masked man said the highest floor, so the kidnappers quickly headed toward the highest floor.

Maja didn’t encounter anyone while going downstairs. She’s now hidden on the fifteenth floor, a bit surprised that

things were going too smoothly today. How can these well–trained kidnappers not replace her location?

Even this floor was empty.

Could someone be secretly helping her?

She can’t figure it out. Right now, she’s on the fifteenth floor, and the windows here can still be opened.

But if she went down further, all the windows were locked.

Maja found a pen, quickly wrote down the number of kidnappers and hostages here, and emphasized that there’s

no one on the fifteenth floor.

She threw the crumpled paper outside.

The outside had been surrounded by the police. The negotiator was killed by the kidnappers, so everyone was

afraid to act rashly.

lan stood at the forefront, his face cold as ice.

If it weren’t for Maja being in the hands of those people, he would have launched an attack long ago.

He originally thought this was just a common kidnapping case, but after all the police gathered here, he realized it

had become a serious crime.

He’s even more worried about Maja’s safety. He’s really on edge.

He shouldn’t have been late last night and shouldn’t have broken his promise again, leading to her being in such a

dangerous situation.

lan was filled with self–blame.

The person in charge of Crystalbrook Valley was shaking. Superiors had also sent people down, but facing so’many

hostages, no one dared to act rashly and can only maintain a stalemate.

Until a ball of paper fell from the sky and landed right at lan’s feet.

Everyone else immediately picked it up. After seeing the message, they quickly assembled a team of nimble police

officers.

“No one on the fifteenth floor! This information was sent out by the hostage at risk of their life. Break through from

there!”

lan looked at the handwriting on the paper and deeply furrowed his brows. Why did this handwriting seem familiar?

Was it written by Penny?

He’d never seen Penny’s handwriting, but somehow, he felt like he knew it.

How would lan know that when he signed a contract with his nominal wife years ago, he had seen her signature?

But he didn’t have time to think about it now and quickly took off his suit.

“I’m going too.”
