Chapter 763

When Carl heard the news that he was being kicked out of the Raymond family, he freaked out immediately.

“Dad, this is actually a misunderstanding.”

But Holden cut him off with a swift strike of his cane.

“Get out of here right now! You are not to return to Greenfield ever again. I’m giving you one night to pack your

things, or I’ll personally have someone show you out tomorrow.”

There wasn’t a shred of mercy in Holden when it came to dealing with his own son.

Realizing there was no point in resisting anymore, Carl was so scared he bolted in the other direction. However, in

his panic, he ran straight towards Maja.

Maja was taken aback and immediately lowered her head, not wanting him to see her face.

But with his mind in such a mess, Carl didn’t even notice her. As soon as he realized he was heading the wrong way,

he made a beeline for the elevator.

But when he ran past Maja, her position was exposed.

Several people turned to look, only then noticing the presence of a waitress.

lan spotted her instantly and knew it was Penny. He let out a cold laugh.

Meanwhile, Holden had turned to Powell. Powell hadn’t expected Holden to show up that night, and his demeanor

instantly became respectful.

“Holden, rest assured, you handled the situation very appropriately. Thank you for seeking justice for my daughter.”

Holden had indeed handled the matter well. He didn’t cover up for the Raymonds and dealt with everything

thoroughly.

Seeing Carl’s panicked face, he knew he was definitely not coming back to Greenfield.

Holden nodded, not wanting to discuss the matter further as it was rather embarrassing.

He then turned to Beck.

The private rooms were directly opposite each other, and since everyone had come out to see the commotion,

everyone was standing quite close.

Beck’s hand was still wrapped in bandages, as was lan’s neck. No one had forgotten the fight that had just occurred

between the two.

Despite Beck’s dislike for lan, he wouldn’t cause a scene in front of Holden, so he nodded politely in greeting.

A warm smile spread across Holden’s face.

“Is this the Sanders‘ kid?”

“Holden, nice to meet you,” Beck said.

Holden nodded, his eyes full of satisfaction. “You do look quite the scholar. No wonder the girl fancies you.”

His words were a clear jab at lan.

lan’s face darkened instantly. “What scholar? Don’t we all have a nose and two eyes?”

Everyone could tell from his response that he was incredibly jealous of Beck.

Holden was even more convinced that the fight was primarily a result of his grandson’s jealousy. He was jealous

that the girl favored Beck and couldn’t control his

emotions.

Served him right.

“Girls like elegant and well–mannered men,” Holden said. “No woman would like a man who’s always spitting

venom.”

lan fell silent.

He instinctively looked towards Maja, still hiding in the corner. He couldn’t understand why she was still there.

With all the commotion, the lobby manager came over and immediately apologized to everyone.

“Sorry, everyone. Could you please return to your rooms? We’ll take care of the clean–up here.“,

As he spoke, he noticed the waitress not far away and beckoned her over.

“Come and help; don’t just stand there dazed.”

This drew everyone’s attention to Maja.

Maja lowered her head and put on her cap. She knew that if she didn’t leave soon, people would start to suspect

her involvement with Carl. After all, her lurking around looked suspicious.

She revealed only the lower half of her face and quickly crouched down to clean up the broken dishes on the floor,

which were the result of Carl’s carelessness.

The minor accident had caused several dishes to fall and shatter, scattering pieces everywhere.

One piece was right next to lan’s foot

As Maja crouched down to pick up the shards, reaching for the one near lan, he lifted his foot and stepped on the

shard she was reaching for.

The lobby manager, noticing she hadn’t gotten up, chided her in a low voice. “You’ve been a waitress for so long;

why are you acting so foolishly tonight?”

Maja cursed lan a thousand times in her head. She decided to leave the shard and get up.

But lan’s foot pressed forward, pinning her fingers.

It wasn’t very painful, but if she wanted to pull her hand back, she’d have to exert some force, which would draw

attention to her.

She could feel a cold sweat breaking out on her back. If lan realized she was Maja at that moment.
