Dear Ex-wife Marry Me Novel Full Episode -
Chapter 788
Chapter 788
When Holden heard those words, he let out a sarcastic laugh.
“I don’t think I could face her. I was all over Maja, bragging about how amazing you were. And what’s the result?
She didn’t fall for you.” lan gave a small smirk in response.
“Didn’t you want her to be your granddaughter–in–law, old man?”
Holden huffed again.
“I wouldn’t force Maja. If you can’t hold a marriage, just quit it and stop bothering me while I’m eating.”
His words were straight to the point.
lan stood up, even planning to take away the painting he brought.
“You’re such a jerk!”
Holden was so furious that he swung his cane, making lan put the painting down.
Back in the car, he looked at the passing scenery.
Finally, he told Jeff, “Take me back to Greenfield Gardens.”
This matter would have to be solved slowly.
At a bar on the other side of town.
Connie was getting wasted. Ever since lan exposed Penny’s true identity and publicly criticized her, no one cared
about her anymore.
Her grandpa did hire a psychologist, but it didn’t help.
Connie knew very well that her biggest wish right now was to stop lan and Maja from being together.
She was anxious and restless, couldn’t sleep well, and now had to rely on alcohol for temporary peace.
Whenever she was sober, she was haunted by the humiliation she suffered at the hands of a kidnapper and the
disgusting feeling of him on top of her.
She staggered to her feet, ready to leave, but bumped into a man.
This man was wrapped up tightly and didn’t enter the bar. He was just pacing outside.
Connie, totally hammered, heard the man ask, “Does anyone know Maja?”
The man was Leo Elston, Maja’s cousin.
His parents had both passed away and only Leo had managed to escape, but no one knew where he was.
Now he was at his wit’s end, always feeling like he was being watched, like he was about to be killed at any
moment. Desperate, he was looking for Maja.
But he had a bad relationship with Maja in the past, she had blocked him. He had no choice but to ask one person
after another outside the bar.
Among the crowd in the bar, someone had to know Maja.
Ironically, Connie did.
Leo was stinking and looked like a beggar, which helped him escape the pursuit of those people.
He was starving and exhausted. If he couldn’t replace Maja soon, he wouldn’t be able to hold on.
Connie burped, walking up to him.
“What do you want with Maja?”
“I’m Maja’s cousin; I have something important to discuss with her.”
Connie squinted at his getup and scoffed.
“How am I to know you’re not lying?”
Leo quickly took out a photo of them as kids and said, “This is her and me. I am indeed her cousin.
“I see.”
Right now, Connie could feel a change in herself. She harbored resentment towards anyone related to Maja,
including this suddenly–appearing Leo.
She called her bodyguards. In no time, they arrived.
She whispered to them, “Take him to a secluded place, break one of his legs, and make him a cripple.”
For a moment, the bodyguards couldn’t believe their ears and looked at her in astonishment.
They had never done such a thing for Connie before, who was always kind.
But the current Connie had a twisted expression: “What, didn’t hear me?”
The bodyguards immediately nodded.
Leo was still anxiously inquiring when he was taken into the car by the bodyguards
“Do you know where Maja is?”
“Yeah, we’re taking you to her.”
Leo sighed in relief, thinking he had met some good Samaritans.
When the car stopped in a deserted place, he finally realized something was wrong. But it was too late; an axe was
swung towards his leg.
He let out a shrill scream while the bodyguards dumped him in the deserted alley and left.
Leo had a strong will to survive, crying as he crawled towards the light, hoping Maja would come in time.
